Gaby Brasserie Française
Good place for breakfast and/or a business meeting.
Fast and friendly service. Delicious food. Highly recommended
Would definitely recommend The Gaby Brasserie. The dinner was great. I have dietary restrictions and they were very accommodating. Great service all round.
I used a $20 reward for my meal. Before the reward the bill was $93.66. The bill after the reward was $73.66. I left a $16 tip. When I got my credit card statement, I was charged $109.66.
A mini reunion
So disappointed. We have had brunch here a few times. The menu on the website had not changed but it is a different menu at the restaurant with less brunch choices and more expensive. So sorry because this is such a nice place to meet friends. Quiet enough to be able to have a conversation without yelling to be heard and the food was always delicious. This time the eggs in the eggs Benedict were over cooked, no loose yolks.
We dropped in for a 6:00pm dinner on a Saturday. Place was not near full which was nice as it was very quiet and peaceful. Menu is standard French Brasserie. Dishes were well executed did not show much creative flair. We did have the Pre-Fixe menu which is a very reasonable $39. Prices are generally fair and reasonable. Service was good and friendly.
This was overpriced and the food was very poor. Great disappointment. Not all bad - Waitstaff was very very nice.
Amazing food 👌. We ordered duck brest, scallops and got desert for the house!
Service was excellent. Would go back. Was a good deal with the travel zoo voucher I had. The food was good and the staff attentive.
Nice pre-theater. Varied menu, good service. Not as chaotic as many pre-theater places. Overall a very pleasant experience.
We were there for the set-price brunch and we think it was a good value for Midtown. The appetizer of fried green tomatoes with goat cheese and tomato-bacon jam was absolutely delicious: a real treat for the mouth. The avocado toast of the day with crab salad tasted very fresh, was chock full of crab, and was very good. The main dish of eggs, sausage and potatoes was delicious and well cooked. The eggs Benedict were good, but not great. The eggs were slightly over cooked - the difference between a soft yolk and a runny one- and the Hollandaise sauce was too lemony. The service was excellent and the overall experience was was great. I would not hesitate to go there again.
The food was pretty good and a good value to choose the prix fixe menu. We added an appetizer of grilled octopus, but it was not stellar! A bit tough and perhaps frozen.
The waiter was excellent, though he might have mentioned that my martini was going to cost 24$!! A bit steep .....
But, overall a good experience and enjoyable with attentive service , good food and value.
Very nice for pre-theater. Not as frantic as most others. Nice menu with wide variety. Pleasant, accommodating service.
This is my go to restaurant for business breakfasts or lunches. Hi quality food and service. They never say no to any request. Carrot juice, yes sir. Almond milk for your French Press, yes sir. I'm good for once or twice a month at Gaby's whenever I travel to NYC.
Dissapointed to learn that the restaurant was inside a Sofitel Hotel. Not what we expected. While the pre theater menu was a good value, the Albariño wine we selected was priced at $67 when the App Vivino suggested the price to be $15.99 - not a mark up I find acceptable.
A delightful experience with excellent food. Our reservation was early, so the noise level was quite low, but had the feeling that even at full capacity the ambience would be pleasant. The wait staff was knowledgeable and efficient.
The appetizers were horrible, we should have sent them back at that moment. I ordered the Burrata , it was NOT fresh. It was pre-made and refrigerated, therefore, the burrata cheese was hard, the bread was soggy. My colleague ordered the grilled octopus, it was not cooked well. He said it was also gray color. He thought it was fine and ate it. Unfortunately he got sick from it and didn't feel well for 2 days.
Gaby is my go to before theater matinee lunch place. The location is awesome. The staff are cordial and prompt. Le dejeuner est tres bon! Merci
Décors défraîchi, banquettes sales, cuisine quelconque mais accueil sympathique.
This was a great place for a quiet dinner prior to a Broadway show. The theater prix fixe menu provided excellent choices and the food was very well prepared. The house bottle of wine was also attractively priced. A HUGE plus for our group of 4 (mature diners) was the QUIET of the room. How wonderful to be able to enjoy our conversation together. In all, it would be hard to find a better overall value than this Gaby Brasserie experience.
Foodwise: we LOVED the fried green tomatoes, the filet mignon with vegetables (a reasonable additional cost), and the right-sized cheesecake dessert.
This place deserves a 4+ (very few places are truly outstanding in my book.) I searched for someplace quiet near Grand Central and this place fit the bill. It definitely exceeded expectations. Son had prix fix dinner which was a great value and he loved it. Will definitely be back if we need something in that area.
No napkins. No teaspoons. Menus left on table. Too much rush, no attention to quality. No fault to the kitchen, food was good.
My first visit but it won't be my last. We had a quiet table in the back with excellent food and service.
Awesome food. Great service. Can’t wait to go again
Great place and value if you choose the Pre-Theatre menu --- I would go back again!
Poor seating choice. We were out right next to two people who were taking extremely loud even though there were plenty of seating elsewhere in the restaurant. Service was sub par and the food was just okay
Best Croissants anywhere. Always a good experience for breakfast here.
Good food, prompt service and very good value. Perfect for a pre-theater dinner
Food and staff were excellent and treated my girlfriend like a queen for her birthday
Dreary setting with mediocre food. Service was fine
Always a good meal at Gaby's with top rate service. Excellent spot to meet friends where you can actually talk to them. Good value prix fix options for pre-theater. Excellent choice for a business/interview lunch. A little quiet for dinner but still just as good as lunch if you don't mind not having a large crowd.
The wait staff was superior, Nick the waiter was personable and professional. The manager Tim, was enjoyable and engaging.
The food was spot on and delicious, my conplimants to the chef.
Excellent service, delicious brunch and good value.
Food average at most. With all the choices in NYC, poor choice. We knew when we walked in and we were only reservation. Restaurant nearly empty on a Friday night
The steak was very delicious. We went there for a birthday celebration and they gave a free dessert. Great experience and will go back.
Nice quiet French restaurant that I love for breakfast. Great French press coffee...excellent pastries...good service...and best of all, quiet. You can have a real conversation.
I mistakenly doubled tipped the waiter. Obviously he kept his mouth shout but I’m not coming to this place again
Really nice place to eat in the Sofitel hotel - chic décor, excellent dinner menu, and quiet. Food choices were varied, well presented and delicious. My only disappointment was the extremely high mark up on the wines.
A little gem in the hotel. We did not realize this was the restaurant week. We got a great deal. A nice place to a casual meal with a friend.
