Fredericks is an outstanding sophisticated yet warm and friendly family run restaurant. It always feels special and the menu constantly evolves with classic with a twist dishes. It’s fine dining so not cheap but their set menus are great value. It’s been going for over 50 years, long may it continue!

Excellent food and service, as always. We were 3 couples eating in the marquee due to Covid restrictions. Very comfortable and still a good atmosphere/ambience. 4 stars only for value, because I think the wines are expensive. Food is very good value.

We had a delightful wedding dinner at Frederick's, despite being in the middle of the pandemic. The staff were incredibly helpful and courteous, and the food was excellent. We all had a wonderful time, and will be recommending it to our friends.

A return visit to a longstanding favourite dining spot. They never let us down and we enjoyed excellent food and fabulous wine with great assistance from the delightful sommelier.

As good as ever though we did feel this December booking felt a little more rushed than our previous two bookings in July and October.

It was a lovely meal in what I felt was a very safe Covid environment. The staff were helpful friendly and we had a good safe time. Will definitely return.

We've been coming to Frederick's for 30 years and have never had a disppointing meal.
Their food is consistently delicious. The service is warm, welcoming and very responsive.
During cover, they are taking safety issues very seriously. Tables are well-spaced and there's a comfortable marquee. The spaces are airy and well-ventilated.

This is a brilliantly managed restaurant; they should give masterclasses to show others how it should be done.

The food was delicious, particularly the venison. We were in the side dining room (normally for private parties) with plenty of space between tables but still a good atmosphere once most tables were filled.

Be it lunch, dinner or a special occasion it’s a great place to eat.

Food good. I had to return my steak as it was overcooked but I am very fussy about my filet steak! However this was no problem and they replaced it with no problem and the second one was perfect.

As always, Fredericks has great service, a good menu and with the outside space, it's great for current restrictions around meeting other people. Only comment is that one of the party was vegan, and it's rather limited for vegans. When asking what she could eat, the waiter said he could put together a plate of vegetable side dishes, which to me, in 2020 is not good enough. But we had a great time, so overall it's always a good bet.

Fredericks never fails. Combo of good food, service, wine list amazing, calmness and very spacious setting to accommodate Covid. It’s lovely to see all the same staff. Unfortunately price makes it not a regular event but do enjoy it every visit.

No need for my recommendation, just go there and have the best meal, the best environment, the kindest service, and the most beautiful setting of rus in urbe you could wish for.
