Always good for us. with tables clear due to Covid looks empty. Chef and staff excellent. Thank you all.
Airport restaurant so prices are exorbitant, but they have a captive audience. Gemma was outstanding serving at the bar, taking and delivering food orders. Food was not as good as last time but given the reduced number of guests I guess they got rid of the better chef.
Limited menu available, poor choice for vegetarians. Son's chicken was microwaved and undercooked. Pizza was bland. The restaurant is nice, however empty on the day we visited. Waitress was very friendly and helpful.
Had a wonderful meal at Fratello’s, service was excellent and the food superb. The staff were really good and helpful and helped make the night great. We were staying in the hotel and the restaurant being in the same building was a bonus. Although the menu was restricted due to Covid-19 it still gave a good choice of food.
Probably the most offish and rude waiter I’ve ever had. We dared to ask what the £6.50 sticky toffee pudding came with. Well you think I’d killed his cat. Apparently it’s a ridiculous question, and it came with nothing. That’s right. No cream, custard or ice cream. Also, the menu that the restaurant have loaded on here doesn’t exist. They’re running a budget menu. (Burger and chunky chips, which were actually oven chips, undercooked). Undercooked tasteless pizza. The lettuce in the Caesar salad was limp. Disgusting. The bill was £7 too much, which had to be rectified. Have used this place many times over the last 10 or so years. Can’t say I’ll ever go back.
Overpriced, cold in places and hot in others, don’t have the chickpea and sweet potato curry. £14 for microwaved tasteless mush.
Kids pizza was charged at adult size.
Typical hotel restaurant, double the price it should be and microwaved food.
Shame as the restaurant itself is comfortable and looks nice.
Service was friendly
Food good although overpriced in comparison to other Italian eateries.
Service for starter and main very good waited an extended period for service of dessert.
We were left waiting at the entrance even though staff member had seen us. we had to wait to order drinks and wait a long time to get them. We had to ask to place our food order.
Dull and dowdy interior, in need of a spruce up.
Lamb shank was delicious
Mashed potato mediocre
Carrots were awful
Overall won’t be back in a hurry, but the service from the staff on duty was excellent
Always brilliant. Just reopened....a bit later than others but excellent. We enjoyed it fully.
Always have a good meal here while staying over before flights, unfortunately due to 2 cancelled flights the hotel was heaving therefore the restaurant was too. The wait was inevitable, meal still top notch and the waiting on staff were fighting a losing battle admirably!!
We had booked a table and were expecting a pleasant start to our holiday. Unfortunately due to a cancelled flight the restaurant was absolutely packed. The staff were rushed off their feet and the service was dreadful. We thought it was a bit expensive for what we got. We won’t go back again.
Always the best place to eat before flying from Newcastle Airport. Pizza and Pasta always really good
Excellent service, choice and quality of food as usual
Salad was disappointment as was the wobbly table that I had to fix myself despite informing waitress.
A return visit and again we enjoyed the food, large portions of tasty pasta for a decent price - unusual for hotel restaurants
The food was terrible ...restaurant was cold .
Nice evening meal, very noisy people present. Bar and waitress service slow, I’m sure our waitress was serving on the front desk too!
We have eaten here several times. The menu has changed slightly since the last time - mainly the cost! £8 for a garlic bread with cheese is crazy expensive and in hindsight I wonder why I ordered it as it was not worth it. The main meals were ok but again not worth the price.
Service was good and it is overall a nice restaurant to dine at. The food, however, does not live up to the price.
We had a fabulous meal and excellent service from Daniel, a lovely way to start our holiday!
Staying overnight at hotel and booked Fratello’s for evening meal. Pleasantly surprised by the service and food. It was a very enjoyable meal
Staff to busy to even ask us if we wanted a dessert or coffee, so left after paying bill, drinks very expensive.
Staff were so helpful with my dietary needs, & made us feel welcomed & at home.
Arrived early. Told the tables were not ready. There were at least 10 tables ready and empty. Went for a drink at the bar. Husband ordered a beer and I a whisky sour. Husband got beer and I was told " I am going to deal with the queue and then I will do your cocktail" Why? It took her 15 minutes to deal with the queue and serve my drink.
The head waiter was very cool with us.
However our waitress was lovely and the food was good.
I have been to this resturant many times in the past . My recent visit was very dissaponting . When my pizza eventually arrived it was cold . The waitress did offer to get a fresh one but by this time i just wanted to leave the resturant. I still ended up paying for the whole meal
Due to it being the night before the Great North Run, the restaurant was very busy and we had a slight wait for our table despite having booked in advance but that was to be expected. The food was amazing and huge portions too! I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
The food was very good, our party had a range of different things from the menu and there was no complaints!!! The restaurant was nice and the bar next door is having some work done to it so the front of the restaurant was a bit of building site but that didn't detract from anything. Our only negative thoughts came from the service...or lack of!! We booked an early sitting and there were only a couple of tables eating yet having taking our drinks order it then took a significant amount of time to get said drinks and then make the food order. We were also sat around for a while trying to pay our bill.
The food was very good though and for a restaurant in a hotel and next to an airport - we felt it was good value.
The food was good. The service was slow and we left without our final drinks as we waited so long for them. The staff were apologetic. Refurbishments were going on but that didn't really affect us.
Good location for the airport
Good food and service. Convenient for the airport. If you need a meal before travelling this is a good place to go and far better atmosphere and quality of food than the places in the airport. Although it is in the Hilton Doubletree Hotel, it is open to non guests. We crossed the road from the Premier Inn to eat there.
Lovely food, great late meal due to late arrival at airport after a holiday
Food average, Fast service but expensive ... charged an extra £4 for adding ham to a margarita pizza ... no starters x2 pizza’s , 1 chips and x2 glasses of wine was just over £50.
We had booked a table and waited around 5 minutes for somebody to come and sit us at our table (place was quiet) it took so long for them to take our order and bring the food. We are food and must have waited around 15 minutes for he plates to be cleared. There were several staff around and the restaurant was quiet so there was now excuse. Food was bland and overpriced. Spent £60 and came away very dissapointed.
This is our fave resturant the staff are so freindly food has always been very good resturant is well laid out and very cosy
The portion sizes were too big, which is not usually something I have found myself complaining about. The pasta dishes were disappointing, lacking depth of flavour and either swimming in oily sauce or too dry. Ambiance is good, lively and clean but food not up to that.
Good speedy service and great meal to start the holidays!
The staff were very professional and looked after us well.
Fantastic service and great food as usual. Have visited a few times and we’ll definitely be returning.
A very pleasant environment. Excellent and friendly service. A decent menu - predominantly pizza and pasta. Both of us chose pasta (different dishes) - both meals were heavily laden with butter and cream making them quite unpleasant.
Went before our flight, food was amazing, wood definitely recommend
