The waiter was excellent and anticipated are needs. Excellent Steakhouse.
Food was delicious and the service excellent. Perfect meal as part of celebrating my bday in NYC
Overall service was good as you would expect bit a little overpriced as are all similar Steak houses in Mid Town Manhattan.
1yr anniversary from a near death experience
The food and the atmosphere was amazing. Service was great as well. I will definitely come back.
Best Steak restaurant ever, this was the best meal I had in a long time, excellent service and the dessert was top notch!
The servers seemed busy and inattentive. They took forever to take our order. The server assigned to us seemed too busy so they sent someone else after I’d to ask twice for someone to take our order. When I reordered a drink they forgot to get it, when I reminded them they brought it in a glass covered with water droplets all around the rim like someone just washed it but was in too much of a hurry to wipe it. I was expecting much better service. The food was good though. It seemed we had two servers and we were not an important client for them last night.
Christmas Eve dinner. Delicious!
Food was just OK and the price was too high but service was good.
Great vibe - lots of energy. Really great ambience. But the food was disappointing. Both of our steaks were overdone. My medium rare rib eye was medium well; my husband's medium well filet was well done. Very disappointing considering the price of these dry aged meats. The sides (potatoes lyonnaise, fried onions and creamed spinach) were average.
Waited an hour for two mediocre hamburgers. The tomato and mozzarella appetizer were poor.
Service was really bad even after they spilled someone else’s clams on the floor and I was hit
with overspray. Not even an apology.
Service was very slow, food was good but not amazing. Ribeye was rather too fatty. Disappointed, after reading so many good reviews.
I had a bone in ribeye I thought it was good but not as good as I expected from your restaurant. The waiter was great he even showed me the best way to cut the ribeye.
Very disappointed as this place was well Overpriced and had low quality food. Lobster tail was fishy and steak burnt. French onion soup needs work . Big woody asparagus is not nice. Creamed spinach was like baby food. No passion put into the food. Typical NYC steak house. Bronx location is a lot better. Will not be returning to this location ever again. Must be a tourist trap.
We really enjoyed our night out at Frankie & Johnnies. Our server, Dan, was very attentive. Our steak was overcooked, so the restaurant comped our desserts.
Usually, when something isn't exactly what we order, we speak up. But because the steak and the rest of our meal, drinks, and environment at the restaurant were so pleasant we didn't complain.
We plan to visit the other locations in the city/Rye.
Frankie & Johnnie's, all I can say is outstanding. Our Waiter was very attentive to us, the atmosphere was beautiful, old and elegant. It was the old townhouse of Drew Barrymore's grandfather. The old fireplace and built-ins and all the beautiful moldings and finishes were still kept in place. But I have to say, we had a table of 6 and everyone at the table loved their food, from the appetizers, entrée and finishing off the night with key lime pie and cheese cake deserts. I couldn't find a bad thing about the restaurant and I would highly recommend it for larger get togethers as well as intimate dining. I give it a 5 out of 5.
Lunch prefix was an excellent price. Portions were perfect for my appetite. We enjoyed the meal so much, we returned another day for dinner. Larger portions, larger bill. Worth every penny. Excellent service.
Excellent food! Will definitely go back again soon!
Classic steakhouse, pro waiters, good drinks big sides. No surprises.
We come here every time we are in NYC on business.
Can’t wait for our next trip to NYC
Great food , great service and warm atmosphere!
I ordered filet mignon medium rare and it came out medium to medium well, which is very disappointing when you are paying $50-60 for a cut of beef. If you order wine with dinner, expect to pay $100+ per person
Ambience was okay, but has nothing on Sparks.
Was recommended to eat here by our hotel and wasnt a disappointment. Had the sirloin and it was absolutely perfect not to mention huge. Staff very attentive and knowledgeable about the food. Would definitely go back and very happy to recommend
Wonderful meal, fabulous service.
I wanted an American culinary experience in the form of a steak for my wife and me. We visited Frankie & Johnnie's Steakhouse on the 23rd of November 2019.
The ambiance was perfect. I told my wife I felt like in a movie setting. The service was OK, we were being served as one would expect in such a restaurant. We were advised on the menu, whether asked or unasked. We asked for the mushroom sauce to share but he talked us out of it. I think he did his best but this we shouldn't have followed his advice.
Unfortunately the food was not great. My wife had a medium well filet mignon and I had a medium rib eye. The filet mignon was overcooked but the worse part is both steaks were burnt on the outside. We also had some side dishes and the French fries were burnt as well. And the filet mignon was overcooked remember? So it really could use the mushroom sauce which we were talked out of getting.
I wouldn't go back, at this price point there must be better places to visit.
Food was fair. Though comparably priced with Ruth’s Chris, Keens and other premier steakhouses, the quality of the steaks was inferior to the competition. The creamed spinach was excellent but the hash browns were weak. Service was mediocre. We waited too long for the waiter to initially take our drink order. In all fairness, the waiter was professional. The BIG problem was it was too LOUD upstairs in the rear. I felt like I was at a Rangers game. Management needs to solve that problem. Now I know why Keens had no availability and F&J’s was wide open. All in all, average at best.
Excellent all around. Would totally go back
Lunch price fixed was a plus salmon was terrific. Cooked to perfection. Filet mignon was a little dry. Service and ambiance was great. Definitely a repeater
Great martini, fantastic steak, Sinatra in the background, it was a New York moment.
Delicious steak dinner for a friends get together!
My favorite steakhouse in NYC. I will always keep going back because the food is delicious and the service is top notch!
I had the veal chop and it was great. My wife had the sea bass which was unbelievably good. She loves sea bass and said this was the best she had ever had. It was so good we’ve decided to go back and both have it.
Very accommodating— took us earlier than our reservation with no problem. Pleasant staff and excellent food.
Great little place to have a great steak with great service.
Fantastic Friday night dinner!
The porterhouse for 2 was magnificent.
Wonderful friendly service from Spiro.
And the live jazz trio with a singer in the bar was icing on the cake.
Family get together
It was our anniversary and they took great care of us! We loved it :)
Food was good, but what I disliked the most was when the waitress came with a bill with a included service fees just because we were not Americans! That is a kind of discrimination!
Wonderful service. We were next to last to leave after 3 hours, and still were paid attention to. AND a very good wine selection.
Great drinks good food, terrific service. Will be back!
