This was our first visit and we will be back. This is a small neighborhood place that is rather crowded and noisy but with a cool and energetic vibe. Our reservation on a very busy Saturday was for 6:30 and were seated immediately. Service and food were excellent. Highly recommend.
Intimate space and atmosphere. Friendly staff willing to accommodate and go extra links to make sure your experience is more than Exceptional! I definitely would recommend
Francesca's is our local " go to" for a nice Italian dinner. We go there frequently and it never disappoints.
We had a wonderful dining experience for a birthday celebration. It is our annual spot to celebrate birthdays.
Our reservation was honored in a timely manner. The ambiance has some charm. It is not a big, crazy-noisy restaurant; that is always a plus. The food was delivered in a timely fashion. The service was pleasant and good. The food was quite good.
Thank you Francesca's Intimo for a nice experience
Perfect service from Martin perfect food wonderful atmosphere basically a 10 out of 10
My friend and I love this Francesca’s. Food amazing. I had salmon. Wonderful. Our server Stephanie the best!
One of my favorite north suburban restaurants!
Service was great, food is hit or miss these days.
Delicious food great service
Valentines Day dinner with very dear friends. We had great food and wine. A wonderful time!
There is always a test for a restaurant...V'Day, New Years, etc. and I have always felt that if they can execute this correctly...the restaurant must be very good
Well Francesca's Intimo is EXCELLENT. Reservation - perfect on time, Bar Service..perfect and well priced, Waiter...perfect and very personable, Food...BETTER THAN PERFECT....well prepared, and served on time, hot and without the auction of food that comes from so many places, Value...better than perfect....no uncharge for V'Day, a good regular menu as well as V'Day offerings Wine List...great offerings and well priced (fair)
We love this place and will be back often and if you have never tried it...well try to not go at our time on Saturday at 7:30 but otherwise GO!!!
First time there. Restaurant was smaller than anticipated. Was packed for Valentine’s Day, way overbooked. We were seated 20 min late. Bar is right by the front door which caused a big blockage to get to the check in desk. Also, only one bartender for the entire restaurant. All that said, service was very good and so was the food.
Great Valentines Day menu. Always excellent waiters and food.
As usual, Fracesca Intimo was awesome!!! Valentines Day date night did not disappoint. My Filet Mignon and shrimp was exceptional as was my wife’s pasta dish. Just wish the filet was always on the menu! Staff service is impeccable!
Nice, quaint restaurant with a fantastic menu and great menu. Met a friend for lunch and look forward to going back.
Excellent service! Wonderful food! Highly recommend dining there!
We were a party of 5 for Happy hour last week......everything was delicious! Friendly staff, great selection of dishes.........a local favorite for us anytime
Very good food, good wine selections, crowded tables, small bar, overall excellent
Very cramped seating but food was good.
I’ve been going to Franchesca’s for over ten years. While the restaurant is small, it’s always been a relaxing and enjoyable evening. However, on this visit, I made a 6:15 open table reservation. I was told upon arrival that there would be a 15 minute wait. Other diners were all waiting as well lined up at the door where it is very crowded. Needless to say, it took 30 minutes waiting in the over crowded space and we were finally seated at 6:45. The entire dining experience felt rushed as the line up at the door continued well into the evening. Stop overbooking Franchesca’s. You may be serving a few extra diners, but you’re taking away greatly from the experience.
I love the food and have dined here for years. My only gripe is how loud it is. Still a great local restaurant with always good food and a spirit of fun. We will be back.
Lunch was delicious. We had the pizza (best I know of in the area), and the shrimp bisque (truly delicious!) We were greeted warmly and treated very well by our server Martin. Each of the service personnel were attentive and gracious. Couple of fine details of a top tier restaurant were left off -- like we had to ask for butter for our bread - twice, and the tea water wasn't replenished. These very minor bits led me to write a 98% awesome review instead of 100%. ... which is really excellent. I still don't know how they knew we were celebrating my guest's birthday, but they brought a lovely desert gift for her. Thank you!
Had not been to Francesca's in several years, so we wanted a nice experience for dinner on a Sunday evening. The fare was fine: a fresh and innovative twist on asparagus salad, the mussels in a marinara sauce were cooked perfectly but sauce was bland and the calamari was just...plain. Not bad but not remarkable, either. Entrees were pretty on the plate, but nothing really sparked in the seasoning or flavors. For desserts, the crème brulee was perfect, but the coconut cake special was overly sweet and not as "coconutty" as might be expected. Service was friendly, but not overly attentive. It just seemed like we were either not one of the restaurant favorites or the staff was tired. Not bad, but nothing really remarkable, either.
We were disappointed with our experience. Had been here once before and enjoyed it, but this time food was only fair/average. Sold out of specials by 7:30 pm. Service was slow.
Our reservation was on time.
Diane was spot on as usual with timing, recommendations and service.
Great food, great service, intimate restaurant. Server was gracious and proficient.
I just love this place. Everything is so good.
I am a fan of Francesca restaurants and Francesca' Intimo in particular, but on this occasion I was disappointed with the fettuccini bolognese. The pasta was undercooked and clumped together. This is basic stuff for an Italian restaurant. On a positive note, server Stephanie was excellent - very personable, responsive, well informed. She added to the dining experience.
Unfriendly greeting when we checked in - I’m used to a happier Colorado type greeting. And same with the bartender, maybe they were related to the host. No joy there -
Food was good, not awesome - pasta and salad. Asked for added on broccoli and had maybe 3 pieces? Husband’s four cheese pizza was better. Service was rushed and then slow.... had to ask for bread and Parmesan cheese, none offered. Dessert choices meh.
Super expensive for the overall experience, but it is Lake Forest after all.
Lalo was great and treated us like family when we 1st walked in and then we were seated with Stephanie and she was fabulous. The food as always is terrific and made to order Maybe that’s why we go there every week. We look forward to going back
Work on reducing noise level (music) is a very critical item.
This time I was not impressed. Usually it's very good.
The food was good, the service attentive but not rushed. All in all a very nice experience.
Always such great service! Thanks to the management and awesome staff.
We came here a lot and it's always been busy, but it's gotten worse - there is just way too many tables in the little space, you can hardly move and for sure not relax for a quite dinner with family. way too crazy. Food has been better too. not sure we'll be back soon unfortunately.
Fabulous food and service! It was distracting to be seated next to someone who yelled each of the plot lines of his favorite Netflix shows to his bored dinner companions, however this was no reflection on the extraordinary service and tasty dishes we thoroughly enjoyed at Francesca’s. Bravo.
A great evening with the exception of payment. My Amex was charged $294 but my bill was only $166. It toke sometime to get the server and fix the transaction. The next day the charge was still on my statement. I understand it takes a very days to drop off. My big concern is that next day New Years Day a charge of $6k was made on my card that Amex caught. Obviously wasn’t my charge......seems strange.
Our first visit was on New Year’s Eve! Went in not knowing what to expect other than positive ratings we’ve read about the food. It was busy, energetic and loads of fun! Our server Stephanie was a blast, very thoughtful and kind! She checked in to ensure we were comfortable, if we needed our coats taken (as it was a full house), kept the drinks and conversation flowing and topped us off with beads and party hats! 😁 The food was awesome, great takes on traditional dishes, burrata was to die for! I had the ravioli with truffle oil sauce, oh my!! Great time, will definitely go back!
Great experience and my 5 year old liked it also
We had a great time celebrating our wedding anniversary!
