Fortnum & Mason Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon
The service was the worse we have ever had, we wait over 35 plus minutes just trying to get more biscuits and tea. We never complain but this had to be the worse ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And to top off there was a table with two scream infants
It was an incredible experience. Our server made the experience that much better and ensured all of our needs were met.
A truly memorable time!!
If you are interested in enjoying a true tea experience, I would recommend you Fortnum and Mason Tea Salon as long aa you can afford it. If you are two people, you should ask for two different experiences (savoury and sweet) so that you can share and try both. Tips/service is not included in the price (about 12%).
We had a truly lovely experience! The staff was extremely friendly and we very much enjoyed the atmosphere and the delicious tea.
Second time I went for an afternoon tea here. Very nice food but service not very good this time. Also the tea room was a bit noisy
We had yet another wonderful afternoon at this quintessential British establishment. Our server Anna was fantastic and made the experience all the more special. Despite the very busy afternoon they were having everything was perfectly presented and Anna’s attention to detail was a true credit to Fortnim and Masons.
Sandwich bread was stale, sandwiches tiny, scones blah.
We booked a long time in advance and still have a place right on the aisle, where always pass by. Although a better table was available. We did get it, but not until we asked.
Great food - have as much as you want, with unlimited tea. Service was very formal, perhaps too emotionless for me. That didn't matter though, as I enjoyed and would return.
Having had a very good experience when visiting the Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon previously, I decided to return with two friends, one of which who’s birthday it was. Once again the food, service and atmosphere were all great but I was surprised to find the price had gone up by £15 per person from my last visit and also thought that to add an additional glass of champagne for about £14 was a little steep? Never the less the food throughout was great! The afternoon tea was for a birthday celebration and catch up and we could have done with a little more time to soak up the atmosphere and make the most of all of our food, as well as to continue our conversation and we were a little rushed towards the end of our reservation. I appreciate they would have had other bookings for our table after us but they almost forgot to give us our last choice of cake slice had we not reminded them and when I got home and opened its box, was a little disappointed to find a rather small slither of banana bread in comparison to the slab of Carrot cake I was given to take home on my first visit. Also when the bill came, I expressed it was to be split in half so my friend, who’s birthday it was, did not have to pay. The waitress then proceeded to read out how much it would be for each half to pay which made my friend feel rather uncomfortable knowing how much we had spent for her birthday and it would have been nice if there had been a little more discretion in that situation. I think I may hesitate a little to return again, mostly because I felt after my first visit I truly got my money’s worth, whereas this time I did not necessarily feel the same way but still none the less a lovely experience.
The place, service and food are fantastic. I loved It!
First trip to London. Amazing experience all around. Would highly recommend to anyone.
Lo único fue que a pesar de tener reservación, nos hicieron esperar como 15 minutos
Fantastic experience, essential Britain - one event that gives a lasting pleasant memory. Pricey, but you know that on the way in. Extraordinary, would repeat in a heartbeat!
Poor service. Waitress never came around to check on refills or water. Forced and undeserved gratuity. Do not recommend at all.
I would definitely recommend coming here for afternoon tea
While the food and decor are amazing, the value of the tea wasn't worth it. Incredibly expensive for a tea you can get at many other wonderful places in London for not as much money.
All I can say is thank you very much. The experience exceeded all expectations. The eclair with the salmon on top was fantastic by far my favorite item.
Well worth it! A definite must if you are in London and want to have an authentic tea time! The food was great as was the service. Very tasty sandwiches, a mix of sweet and savory scones and yummy desserts. The meal is topped off with a slice of dessert cake and I would recommend the colorful Battenberg cake! Try the vanilla nougat tea!
Simply, INCREDIBLE! Tea, food, service, ambiance were outstanding.
Although making reservation in advance, we need to wait for 20mins. It's a nice place but it is very expensive. Overall they provide good service.
It seems expensive at approx £55 per person but turned out to be well worth the money and a unique experience. Service was good quality but slow on a few requests for more tea. However, the food was very high quality and the tea was a mixture of unique flavours and a great compliment to the scones and cakes.
Very disappointed that i could not have hot water on the table and it took me asking 3 times for hot water which resulted in my tea being too strong and i couldn't it while eating! Very annoying !
Excellent..and did not feel awkward being on my own..was a birthday treat to myself. My waitress could not have been better. Whole ambience was pleasant..great experience. Thank you.
Perfect experience for afternoon yea in London, especially for tourists looking for a break and something with more refinement and a relaxing pace.
I am already planning my next visit as a birthday present for a friend, and have already recommended your teas to three other people since returning. It was wonderful, especially the sweet/savoury options to share.
Wonderful afternoon ,made to feel as though we were the only people taking afternoon tea.The food was excellent. The staff were attentive ,beautiful surroundings, and wonderful little touches that made the whole experience memorable, many thanks Fortnums
basic afternoon tea sandwiches were very boring. Scones lovely but small cakes not as varied as could be ie no pastries. Large cakes were lovely. Overall it was too expensive for what you got
This used to be the best place for afternoon tea in London and over the years I have taken many friends from abroad here to enjoy a typical British tea experience. However, our last experience was dreadful. First we waited 50 minutes for sandwiches and when they finally arrived the bread was dry. They only offered plain scones and they were all cold. The waitress spilled the tea each time she served it. We were seated just under the AC and it was very cold so we had to put our coats on. When we asked if they could turn off the AC or if we could change the table, nothing was done. One of the teas we ordered was in a tea bag, but somehow some tea leaves (from a different tea) ended up in the same teapot (?!). We couldn’t finish the cakes and when we asked for them to be packed to go, the waitress said she wasn’t sure if they had boxes (?!). Very poor customer service and an overall disappointing experience.
It's pricey, but there is no shortage of food and tea. The food was excellent as was the tea. Our server was amazing, but some of the other 'runners' were a bit confused.
Food was nothing special, considering M ordinary and what you can eat anywhere. Waitress was openly fad up and not attentive. We waited for order 30 min, when we were told on arrival we have overall 1.5hrs for the experience. No offer of fresh tea or cakes from the trolley from waitress, till asked - then an irritation was shown and we were made to wait 20 min. We are still asking ourselves what did we pay for? It was suppose to be a treat to mark special occasion, instead it was unpleasant and most disappointing experience of high tea. F&M team needs to get out more to see what their competitors offer and learn what good service, which forms part of good experience, looks like. We regretted our choice and we all said : would we go to Paul patisserie at list we knew food would be amazing and service 100% better. What an embarrassment for F&M
Thanks a lot to Kelly for their kind treatment and professional knowledge. Hope to see you son. Our family love to be the re.
Wonderful quintessential English tea, superb! Impeccable food and service
A really lovely, classic version of the quintessential British tea, managing both to serve large crowds, yet avoid the traditional pitfalls of at scale tea. The sandwich bread is served soft and moist, the scones are crumbly with helping of the roundest, most delicate lemon curd, and the pastries are each their own little work of art. Really loved the experience, was expecting a gimmick, but found a gem.
My wife and i attended the Jubilee tea room at 4.15 pm on Sunday the 12th May.
An outstanding visit, opulent yet a chilled out vibe , classy and casual at the same time
loved it .
Tea at Fortnums is an oasis in Piccadilly. The waitstaff are very accommodating and want their customers to relax and enjoy their tea whether is afternoon or high tea, sweet or savory.
Whilst the service was great, some of the offerings were stale which, for an establishment such as this, was disappointing.
Service was great and food was even better. Very accommodating as we had our two young children with us. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to experience afternoon tea.
Amazing service, great food which they replenish as you wish. Lemon curd, clotted cream on scones is to die for.
Fabulous experience, definitely don’t eat beforehand as you can order more as part of the tea. The scones are perfect but wasn’t too keen on the patisseries as but too fancy for me- would prefer a simple Victoria sponge. As expected tea was delicious, make sure you study the selection beforehand as the range is extensive! Lovely environment and great place to enjoy an afternoon.
