But as wonderful as everything else was, the star was the food. Every single element of every dish was exceptional. The nuts were toasted to perfection, the sauces and dressings were full of interesting delicious flavours beautifully balanced, the pastry was buttery, crisp and flaky. We loved the whipped hummus, the fried zucchini, the chicken sando, the tomato salad with citrus dressing, the gnocchi with pork ragout and the chicken with pilaff were all so good. The olive oil ice cream desert was mind blowing. The honey, the nuts, the pastry and the ice cream were all beautiful and the way they were put together showed such skill. Honestly there was no miss. The chef and his team are absolutely at the top of their game. The young man behind the counter however was unhelpful, rude and dismissive. What a shame. Later in the afternoon, they brought us rugs after the sun went down. In the meantime, the 3 shared plates were divine… so delicious with varying options. The wine list is diverse but we always choose the same white. On a super busy day, service was good considering we choose to sit outside.
