Fontana at the Biltmore Hotel
We had an amazing time. The food was delicious and our waiter Eduardo was great.
Nourriture très bonne dans un superbe décors.
The hostess made us wait 25 min to sit when there were multiple tables available. The person pouring the wine poured a new bottle of wine into our glasses with our fist bottle and mixed the two. The staff had large fans outside near the tables which made a lot of noise,
This is a very nice restaurant but it is grossly overpriced. The food is good quality but not especially interested. Service was disjointed.
In need of upgrades, looks and feels very tired! The chairs are vinyl and sticky. The table cloth was not evenly placed, one end was longer than the other and filthy dirty (seems like it was stepped on and overlooked). The food was ok. I ordered from the Miami Spice 2019 menu and was not impressed. The pork belly as a starter was terrible and very fatty and the salmon as my main was very oily. The only dish I enjoyed was the desert but I suppose you would have to try really hard to mess up a strawberry tart. Our server was nice but I was surprised when she asked “who’s Birthday are we celebrating” and came back with my desert and nothing more. All in all I would NOT recommend this restaurant.
Quiet. Food , service, ambiance spectacular and emilo our waiter was wonderful. Even the heat was no bother!
Sent food back. Very terrible food . Disappointing for a birthday lunch 👎🏻👎🏻
Impressive, reasonably priced, service was excellent.
el lugar es muy lindo y tranquilo. la comida estaba exquisita y nos atendieron super bien!
Family with food allergies . They made the recommendations in what to it and everything was just perfect .
Both the food and the service were excellent.
I have enjoyed the Biltmore brunch on several occasions but had not dined at Fontana. We took the opportunity of the Miami Spice event and were pleasantly satisfied.
Este lugar desafortunadamente parece una cafetería , demasiada luz para una cena , nada acogedor. La comida muy buena pero se necesita ambiente. No pensamos regresar
Went for the Miami Spice lunch. The place is very pretty, but the portion sizes left much to be desired on the appetizer course, and the entree looked like it had been sitting out for a while before getting brought out to us, like on a cruise ship. The bread basket was quite tasty, and a separate appetizer that we order from the main menu (polpette) did not disappoint. Nothing negative to say about the service.
Great service, amazing food
Overall it was a good experience, the buffet however lacks in options. Very run of the mill for a property of this caliber.
La Fontana was not up to the standards we expect.
1. The service was very slow. The server had to be asked three times for butter and the pre-theater menu.
2. The food was mostly very good, but the snapper with spinach was very heavy and even tough, and was such a huge serving that we should have been advised to share it.
The porcini risotto came in a giant tureen, a serving enough for at least three people, and again, we should have been advised to split it. It was, however delicious.
Fortunately we allowed over two hours to dine before the theater (GableStage).
Excellent as always
Screaming child at next table for an hour. Not distress scream, the get my way or else scream. Wait staff thought it was cute I guess. Last visit here the kitchen was closed for first hour 630-730. Clearly they don’t covet repeat local business. Managers don’t manage. Shame food is good.
Great place for a business lunch. The service is stellar, the food is excellent and the noise level and ambiance allows for pleasant conversation.
Absolutely incredible experience from the moment we walked in. Top of the line customer service and attention to detail. It was my mother, sister and grandmothers first time and they could not stop raving about what a wonderful afternoon they had. The food was delicious too! Cannot say enough about the staff at Fontana!
Wonderful service and meal was exquisite.
Food was bland. The ambiance is nice but not worth the quality of the food and prices. Also, we had an infant and they couldn’t find a high chair for him. We had to hold him the entire time we were there.
It was our honeymoon brunch and OMG!!!! It was amazing! Best brunch we have ever had in our lives!!!! Bottomless mimosas are a must and they are not playing around with it! It’s legit! Love the atmosphere the ambiance the service! Everything about it including the patio view especially! Cesar our waiter took multiple pictures and took good care of us! We will be back definitely!
My wife and I celebrated our 16 year Wedding Anniversary at the Fontana. My wife started with quinoa salad, I started with the tuna tartare. For our main course my wife had the tuna tartare, I had the chicken parmigiana with a side of angel hair pasta topped with bolognese sauce. The food and service were both excellent!!!

we learned to love this restaurant because of the fountain and garden, we had a great experience six months ago while celebrating our anniversary 53rd but,
this time it was different: very slow service, food rather average (the chicken mattore should not be in your menu, poor quality chicken covered with heavy gravy, not good)
the calamari dish was very good, however
I have been a regular here. Ordered 630, salad quickly. 45 min after arrival no entre. 24 people in room and not 1 entre on a table. Three chefs in open kitchen doing nothing. Asked server she says there’s a big party they are cooking for. Asked to speak to manager. Manager says everyone arrived at same time. So I said well how come they didn’t cook any entre yet. She goes into kitchen and awhile later a fourth cook show up and they all get to work. We had two specials each $42. One was black grouper cooked till very dry. Other was pasta with fillet mignon which was drowned in a salty heavy brown sauce worthy of a can.
I’m taking a sabbatical from weekly visits.
I really like this restaurant. It's first and foremost sooooo convenient when seeing theatre at Gablestage. Secondly, the staff is so nice and accommodating and the hotel is gorgeous and the food is always good!
Cadre magnifique dans un patio d’inspirations arabo andalouse, très bon service et plats de qualité.
It was a family dinner for three. For Italian food we believe it is one of the best in Miami-Dade County, the service was impeccable and the atmosphere was serene. La Fontana is always on target.
Amazing restaurant at an Historic site!
Our reservation was for 8:30 pm, but we were not sat until at least 8:45. Our table was dirty, but we didn’t complain. The restaurant didn’t seem busy at all, but it still took a long time for a server to approach and take our drink order. The server (I’m pretty sure her name is Jessica) seemed uninterested in making recommendations and almost bothered that she had to wait on us. The best service was actually from the manager that cleared our plates. If it wasn’t for the manager, I probably would have given this restaurant 2 stars.
Overall, there are far better restaurants, with better food and service in Miami for a quarter of the price.
The ambience at the Fontana was wonderful. It made for a special night.
I prefer this place than the over priced Italian resturant that exists in another part of Coral Gables. Much better food, service attentive but not overly and customers aren't packed in to a small room. Plenty of ambience and music.
Everything was great with the exception that we anticipated sitting outside for breakfast but wasn’t able to. We also sat for a good 20 minutes before they took our order and 45 minutes before our food came out. We went with our two kids and they were complaining the food took forever to come out. We would come back again because the food was delicious and they treated us well. Beautiful Hotel
Anniversary dinner at Fontana was excellent
Appetizers were great. Service was terrible.
Beautiful, lush courtyard and fountain in a gorgeous historic hotel. Food and service was excellent!
