Food was amazing. But service was slow, waited a while to be asked about dessert and then even longer to get the bill. I got the impression that once we had been served our mains we got a little forgotten. But not a big issue as ambience was good we were really happy with the food so it compensated
Attentive staff and very polite. Great food , with a calming ambience light setting. 10/10
Have been before and the food was great! But didn’t live up to expectation this time.
One of us had the beef which was very overcooked and chewy, also came with a strange mint sauce. I had the aubergine which was undercooked and quite hard. Our buns were all stuck together too so that was a bit of a nightmare.
I really liked the food here last time I was here but this time it did not deliver.
Food was poor, lacked flavour. The squid was very greasy
We had an absolutely wonderful meal. The food was delicious and all of the servers super friendly and helpful. It can get a tad noisy at times but it was never overwhelming. We took advantage of the EOTHO deal, and although normally a little pricer than I'd maybe want to go the food was so good it would completely be worth it.
Delicious food, authentic dishes, fantastic experience. A bit pricey, but well worth it
Restaurant has a lovely vibe and is perfect for dates and nights out. The food is also very nice, but it’s all let down when you see the portions. When I got the ribs, for the price that I was paying I was expecting a full stack of ribs, what I got instead was a tiny block that would probably be too small for even a kids meal. I also got the Japanese fried chicken which only came with 4 smallish pieces of chicken. I thought I was paying for the “large” meals but what I got instead was basically tapas or starter sized dishes. The food itself was nice, but absolutely not worth the price you pay. You can get far better portions for far less elsewhere. However if money is no hold back and you want a fun atmosphere and nice Asian food, it’s worth checking out at least once.
Delicious food, and cocktails. We visited on Friday 11th September and it was busy. All of our food came really quickly and the service was really polite and friendly.
The £40 per person tasting menu is shocking. Was really looking forward to my meal but was disappointed :(
Great service though had an excellent waiter.
Great food and service. We had an early sitting for lunch, so it was quiet, hence the three stars for the ambience. We will be back.
My friends and I really loved our time at Flesh and Buns. The food was amazing and the portions are generous, we all had something to take home. Can’t wait for my next trip there!
Love the food and the service was excellent. Would totally recommend.
Food was decent but staff are horrible. Service was super slow and rude and I’m not sure why. Maybe the waitress was having a bad day and decided to take it out on us, or possibly thought we were someone else?
Either way not coming back. Not like I’m spoilt for choice in London, especially as the food isn’t that groundbreaking or unique any more.
Bao buns were amazing - the beef short rib and Japanese fried chicken were so so good!
Thanks for extending eat out to help out!
Always love coming here, food is completely delicious
Disappointing experience... I was looking forward to finally trying this place that has been much talked about (v belatedly!). The lady who served me was v helpful and friendly, so I wish I could have enjoyed my dinner more (the only reason for 3 stars rather than 2...) Unfortunately almost all else, particularly the other service staff and food was sadly disappointing. I was given one of the least favourably places seats, despite there being many empty tables (to be fair, I dined solo though v early.) The starter was so salty as to be inedible - I had to gulp down water immediately. It tasted like the lid of the salt shaker had accidentally fallen off when seasoning and the staff wouldn’t acknowledge this until the lady kindly stepped in. In the end the restaurant did take this off my bill (which I appreciated). I’m fairly certain the Oolong tea was actually Jasmine tea... I liked the concept of the restaurant, but won’t be visiting again.
The food is simply amazing. The idea of the main dishes served with a couple of buns is fantastic, you can make your own plate. The sushi is quite good, I didn’t like to much the vegetarian one but the others have been delicious. The ambient is similar to a real japanese izakaya, the only problem the music, too high.
Staff were friendly and Covid measures were implemented. They got my order wrong but it wasn’t the end of the world and I took it anyway.
Good food and drinks
Great staff and hospitality
Wonderful service, amazing food I will not hesitate to go back. The brunch menu offered a WHOLE lot of food.
Great food, atmosphere and service and great price.
Service was great and food was nice but felt there could have been an improvement on the cocktail options, toilets looked like they needed an update and felt the bill was expensive for three dishes
Loved our dinner at flesh and bun! Service was really good! Food was delicious!! Want to come back every week!
We had the tasting menu which was delicious and great value. I wish we’d saved a bit more space for the main dishes as we were so full by the end.
Chilli squid is to die for and so were the mushie bao buns. Only thing is lighting on the shared benches is a little too bright white so ambience is affected.
Ambience is very nice, service is very good. Food is also tasty but priced on the steeper side and the bao buns which you get quite a lot of meat on a big plate, you only get 2 buns and a very measly amount of sauce and garnishes to go in the buns.
My favourite restaurant in London. Reasonably priced (especially with eat out to help out), but does not forgo ingredient quality and freshness (sushi is fantastic). Restaurant quiet and pleasantly lit (I am used to pre-Covid when it was darker!). The hot stone beef rice is probably one of my all time favourite dishes - the way it gets crisper as you leave it is unreal
Staff was amazing, very helpful and friendly. Food was very nice, we had to take most of it home as it was so filling! We will definitely go again
Service was nice! South African gentleman served us and was quite cool to speak with!
The food was horrible apart from the steak. The sashimi was mediocre.
The chicken was horrible.
The duck was worse. The duck sauce was even worse!
If you eat pan Asian food regularly then don’t expect much but if you don’t, I supposed you won’t be able to tell the difference.
Perfect meal - excellent food and ambience. Bloody loved it.
We ordered the set menu for dinner for the two of us as it had everything on it that we liked, and it was absolutely delicious, one of the best meals ever!
The food was delicious as always
Most of the food was good especially the fried chicken.
However, they forgot one of the mains...chased them up a couple of times and finally came out when everyone else had eaten their main course. It was an aubergine dish, which did not taste very good. Returned it almost untouched and explained to waiter, who wasn’t interested.
Had the table for two hours and was hurried out even though we waited longer for the missing dish, and asked for the bill which never came. They also had the cheek to ask for a cake cutting charge.
Overall, food was good if you’re not a vegetarian. Service was poor, expected it to be much better for its location.
I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner reservations at Flesh and Buns on the bank holiday Monday just passed, the service was delightful and the food was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the butter fish!
Will 100% be returning to this restaurant within the next month.
Very good service in a well spaced atmosphere, food was nice, but very small portions. Bao bun dish came with very small pork belly and a few slices of apple, no lettuce or cucumber. Tomato and asparagus side had less than one spear of asparagus. Overall a bit disappointing.
Was pleasantly surprised with the ambiance in F&B. The waiting staff were great, food was consistent as always and I look forward to heading back. Didn’t particularly notice the difference to usual with socially distanced tables but it was fine.
Amazing service and food - drinks topped up frequently during bottomless brunch
Lots of food on the brunch menu! We didn't expect to be so full. Service was great!
Great dinner and really good service. Will be visiting again soon!
Service was terrible - waiters were more involved in conversation among themselves than with taking orders/clearing plates/bringing the bill and food the was average - certainly not good enough to compensate for the service.
