It’s a fairly decent place. I wasn’t impressed by the shrimp and grits. The wine was good. It is certainly not worth the amount of money you will pay for a happy hour.

the food has lost a step since i was last here. shrimp and grits was kind of soupy. the squash salad was kind of disjointed. the chocolate cake wasn't much to write home about. on the plus side, the wine list is nice and the cocktails were innovative.

I've eaten here before. The prices are a little high but the food is always very good and the atmosphere and service are also great. On this particular visit, I was in for breakfast and ordered the Eggs Benedict. They were terrific - highly recommend. Two people at the table each ordered a side of bacon. The bacon was good but not thick-sliced or anything special like that. We were charged $6/per side for a total of $12, which I thought was excessive, but I didn't feel the need to make a scene. I don't recall seeing pricing for side-orders on the menu, so if it's there and we missed it, then so be it.

W always dine at least one night at Fire Fly when we are in DC for business or pleasure. Most typically we stay at the Kimpton Hotel associated with Fire Fly, so we have also enjoyed breakfast many mornings. The menus offers a variety of choices and without being overwhelming. So far, neither I nor any business companions joining me have found anything that we didn't like. (I have a particular fondness for the deviled eggs.) The service is outstanding.

I have had many lunches at Firefly and this one did not disappoint. It was an earlier than usual lunch so the volume had not gotten to the energetic level. Throughout, my dining companion and I had an enjoyable and engaging time. The food was delicious and service appropriately attentive. I enjoyed the butternut squash soup special and fish tacos with a side salad at the unexpected anniversary special value of $15. ]

Dreadful experience...
Relegated to the back of the house where the
a/c froze everyone.
Waiter was never around... it took about 30 minutes before he addressed us.
Food took another 45 minutes to show up. We had to wait another 10 minutes until the last plate was delivered to our table.
Food was over cooked and tough.

We greatly enjoyed our meal at Firefly. They carefully handled my needs as a diner with Celiac including providing gluten free bread. The food was quite stellar and the service was also of high quality. Firefly is a gem, will definitely be remembering to come back soon.

Our server skipped over us several times to fill our water or coffee’s. Never provided cream or sugar when we got our coffee (had to ask). Provided us toast and no spread for it. When trying to get our server’s attention he’d avoid eye contact and we needed to ask other servers for help. Food was good, but the service was lacking. Guess if we bought alcohol he would have paid more attention to us.

The menu was small. We almost left because of the slim menu selections. The kids menu was geared toward 2-8 year olds. There really wasn’t much for the tween to teen aged children. Really need to have a small steak, pasta or pork chop dish that is aimed at teens. Overall the food was good. The service was slow. The prices were a bit high.

Server took a long time in between every stage - after we sat down she didn't come for a while, after water came we didn't see her for quite a while, after we ordered drinks, etc. She also brought incorrect wine out.

With all of the great options in the neighborhood don't waste your money here. The menu on Open Table doesn't match that at the restaurant. The wait staff was disinterested in whether we even liked the offerings. It was bland and boring standard fair at fine dining prices. The mason jar with a flame less candle to deliver the check is low concept....

Fun place to go with friends/family for brunch. Mimosas are $3 and are yummy as are the truffle fries at $9. French toast is $14 and unbelievably good. A little noisy for Sunday brunch but not horrible. Good service and lovely ambience.

We had a great time at Firefly. We celebrated our anniversary and were seated at a wonderful table by the window. Everyone that took care of us nkew it was a special night. Our food was delicious--we had bruschetta with burrata, the wedge salad, salmon and the creative vegetable pot pie! I highly recommend Firefly for the food and service!

As always, a great experience. All the food that comes out of the kitchen is delicious...seasoned well, cooked to perfection and delivered with a smile. Great ambience - intimate enough for a double date, yet casual enough to grab a quick bite with friends.

Firefly has a surprisingly unique menu, expectations were new takes on southern classics, but the Latin influence seems predominant, and well executed. Cool ambiance is a bonus, but avoid the window table, it's kinda loud right there.

I used to like Firefly for its fresh food and creative approach to its entrees. These days the menu is mainstream, appetizers like wedge salad are commonplace, although in fairness the fish tacos sing with freshness. The vegetable pot pie was surprising in preparation and delicious--a larger serving would have been great.

The grasshopper dessert has too much happening on the plate and the ice cream was rock solid--too hard to actually eat or enjoy.

I miss the original Firefly.

We were there for Friday drinks and dinner with a group of 5 friends. Service was congenial and food was good. However, Firefly inexplicably authorized a $25 charge on our credit card two days later, even though we settled our bill in full before we left. We hope that they will refund this erroneous charge shortly and that other customers didn't experience the same.

Food was good but nothing amazing. This was probably just my experience but our waiter was not very informative about the food options. The menu did not really explain what came with the meal, so we asked about what the dishes came with. He was not sure, so we ordered a side. But when the food came, the same side dish was already part of the meal, which would have been nice to know when we asked. An overall good experience but could have been with a better waiter.

We arrived 5 minutes early They made us wait though there were many open tables. Then, we waited a while for water and more time before a waiter came, though we saw what appeared to be servers just standing around. Once we got him, our was friendly and helpful. We were lucky that there were a number of empty tables, that kept the noise level down. My meal (vegan) was excellent. My companion was slightly less satisfied because he expected soft polenta but it wasn't. I like Firefly's creative menu, was slightly surprised by the relatively slow service.

Expect to have a lengthy wait for food, even with reservations. We were seated promptly as expected. Wouldn't recommend for children. Yes, they decorate a cookie but otherwise wouldn't recommend especially with a 2 hour dining experience. Food was good, steak was really good, but could have the same experience elsewhere with better service.
