Fire at the Ridge
The centerpiece of the dining experience at Powder Ridge Mountain Park & Resort will be the causal dining restaurant, Fire at The Ridge. Fire at The Ridge aims to be an escape for diners, offering private dining rooms to celebrate special occasions, outdoor mountainside and fire pit dining and mountain top picnics.
"Inspired by native New England flavors and locally-sourced ingredients, Fire at the Ridge is an unexpected gem tucked away in the hills of Middlefield, CT.
In addition, The Ridgeside Tavern is where Locals have long known the bar at Powder Ridge ski area to be the place to meet up with friends and for creating new friendships that last a lifetime. It's always the same - love this place. We had Stephanie as our waitress and she's always wonderful! Def. looking forward for a quick ski and delicious dinner afterwards.
This was our second visit. The first had been outstanding, 5 stars. This time, right after opening, they were out of multiple dishes, servings were small, fries were limp and cool, and service was slow. So disappointing after the initial great experience. For the price, we will likely not risk it again.
Our reservations was at 1:15PM Sunday and the hostest had given us the brunch menu. The waitress did not come to our table for about a 1/2 hour. We place our order in (all breakfast). After another 15 minutes later she came back with menus and said brunch was over and that we had missed it. So we had to place our order again for lunch even though we had gotten seated at 1:15PM. However she had asked the cooks to make our kids breakfast meals. Given that I had worked as a manager at a restaurant for over 11 years I totally understood and didn't bother to make any thing of it.
She never came back to asked us how everything was. And never asked for refills on coffees or drinks etc.
My kids and I had left first. My husband waited for the check. She never came back. He waited over 30 minutes for the check! It wasn't a great experience, however the food was excellent.
Waitress was awesome. Home fries had too much better but overall everything was good.
Asked to be seated in bubble, were told it was not available, 2 bubbles around us were empty for the 2+hours we were there
Good food selection. Pretty restaurant. Sat on Bar area so it was loud. Service was great.
Great burger and drinks. Well priced would go again.
We love fire at the ridge ;) delicious food and always great service
Food drinks and service were outstanding!
Food and atmosphere was good food was a little pricey for the portion but all and all it was a nice evening.
The food here was phenomenal!!!! I made a reservation and we were sat on time.
Delicious food! Just be aware that you cannot wear ski boots in the restaurant!
This was our first time at Fire at the Ridge and we were not disappointed. The staff was pleasant and the food was delicious. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and safety measures were in place. A great first experience. We’ll be back.
We spent the morning tubing, and were happy to have lunch at Fire at the Ridge in the afternoon. We sat outside and had a nice view of everyone on the mountain. Our server was AMAZING. The side order of potatoes I had were outstanding, and my husband enjoyed his shrimp bisque. They did run out of ingredients/liquor... so this is a spot you might want to go to earlier in the day, as this is their "season." All it all, a great end to our day. We hope to go back next year when we visit.
No wait. Good service. Great food and a nice view.
It was worth the trip, as it was O U T S T A N D I N G !
The food was great, but table service took a very long time. We were dining outside on the deck and the restaurant was quite busy. I think they were understaffed in the kitchen.
We had a reservation for dinner, but couldn't find a hostess or manager to check us in when we arrived. Waited for about 10 minutes in a corner by the bar for a server to take notice of us and help us be seated. Another ten minutes at our table before anyone took a drink order, which took 20 more minutes to get to us. At that point, the food would have had to be incredible to improve our mood. It was not. Also a pint of warm beer cost $10. A disappointing experience to say the least. However, it was fun to watch the night skiiers from the picture window
I want to give them one more chance before I put a bad review to record.
Great place to eat. Food is always excellent. Service is prompt and attentive. Nice place to enjoy dinner and drinks.
The second floor was fantastic. Separation was well thought out. Nothing to worry about very safe.
Love this place. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is awesome!
Food was absolutely delicious. My sister and I went for Thanksgiving. Had a wonderful meal. Turkey, stuffing, Brussel sprouts delicious and everything else yummy too. Very filling meal. Seating was superb. Ambience excellent. Our particular server Devon was superb, very friendly and always came by to see if we needed anything else. Been going to Fire at the Ridge for a number of years and will definitely be going back there again. Thanks to all at Fire at the Ridge for giving my sister and I a wonderful Thanksgiving meal and experience.
This is the 1st restaurant meal I've had in a long time that I could not find a single thing wrong. Absolutely amazing food, drink and service ! JOB WELL DONE Mr. Hayes !!!
Always a great experience and food!
Fire at the ridge continues to impress. We enjoy going there either on a Friday or Saturday night. The menu sizes perfect. You can get anything from fancy to the best burgers around. Truffle fries included. Will continue to go as long as outdoor seating is open.
The food was NOT good...at all! The vibe was good though. 🙃
This place is awesome especially if you live within the area. The palate is local. The ambiance of the restaurant is that there is something for everyone. Service was great and the options on the menu were that there is something for everyone. Date night, romantic dinner, hanging out with friends, there is something for everyone.
The food prices were extremely high
We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and were seated quickly. That is where the magic ended. We were given water almost immediately by the hostess. For 25 minutes, no one came to our table to take our orders. We spent the next 5 minutes deciding where we were going to go for dinner. We left. This was very disappointing service, but we should have read the reviews first as we found we were not the first diners to experience this non-treatment. We would have been happy if our drink orders were taken.
I love the fire pits and the live music was wonderful.
A server brought our food over and then we never saw her after that. The place was basically empty but all the servers were only worried about this one table of 6 kept doing over to them but not anyone else. servers need to work on scanning the room and multi tasking. while taking plates from other tables scan the room see who else may need help rather than a one tract mind darting to what they have on their mind.
Sat at the table for 20 minutes. We had to call the hostess and let he know no one had come to our table even though others that came in after us had. The hostess dropped a couple glasses of water and napkin on our able and walked away. Finally waitress came, we made sure we ordered food since we had no idea when she would come back for food order. When food came (not delivered by the waitress that took our order) that was the last we saw of anyone. More than halfway through our meal, even though our drinks had been empty, finally came back and asked how everything was. She claimed she was busy warming cider? Don’t really care what you were doing while ignoring us. When meal was over, she hovered over us to take the check. This was far from a busy night so I don’t get it, ignore us then rush us out the door?
While we were there, the closest outdoor fire pit would not stay lit. All that came out was heavy smoke. I have to give the kid trying to keep it lit credit. He even went so far as to dump kerosene or diesel fuel on it to try and light. Never thought I would leave a restaurant smelling like diesel exhaust.
Was nice outdoor time good food good service well worth it- greatest thing dog friendly !!!
Very scenic and good food. Staff very helpful and friendly
Excellent food, meticulous attention to cleanliness and safety, attentive and professional wait staff, stylish but relaxed atmosphere
Our meal was very good, enjoyed the music outside and sitting by the fire pits.
Great place to eat outdoors! Sunday brunch includes a ride up the mountain-great bargain!
Overall a decent dinner. When we first sat down it seemed like they had forgotten about us because roughly 15 minutes passed before we were approached by a waitress and that only happened because the hostess overheard us talking about it. Once the waitress finally came everything went really well until we were done eating. The apps and entrees came as ordered and in a reasonable amount of time and the food was all very good. After we finished eating we had to play another waiting game for our server to clear the table and ask about dessert which we declined because we kinda ran out of time. Other than being bookended by two long waits for service it was well worth it.
What a wonderful place for a fall night out! Loved the fire pit tables, will have to sit there next time around. Ciara our waitress was wonderful! Will definitely go back!
