Fire at the Ridge
The centerpiece of the dining experience at Powder Ridge Mountain Park & Resort will be the causal dining restaurant, Fire at The Ridge. Fire at The Ridge aims to be an escape for diners, offering private dining rooms to celebrate special occasions, outdoor mountainside and fire pit dining and mountain top picnics.
"Inspired by native New England flavors and locally-sourced ingredients, Fire at the Ridge is an unexpected gem tucked away in the hills of Middlefield, CT.
In addition, The Ridgeside Tavern is where Locals have long known the bar at Powder Ridge ski area to be the place to meet up with friends and for creating new friendships that last a lifetime. The Tavern serves causal fare, locally-brewed beers and craft cocktails. Check the event calendar at FireatTheRidge.com for weekly Live music and outdoor events.

The second floor was fantastic. Separation was well thought out. Nothing to worry about very safe.
Love this place. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is awesome!
Food was absolutely delicious. My sister and I went for Thanksgiving. Had a wonderful meal. Turkey, stuffing, Brussel sprouts delicious and everything else yummy too. Very filling meal. Seating was superb. Ambience excellent. Our particular server Devon was superb, very friendly and always came by to see if we needed anything else. Been going to Fire at the Ridge for a number of years and will definitely be going back there again. Thanks to all at Fire at the Ridge for giving my sister and I a wonderful Thanksgiving meal and experience.
This is the 1st restaurant meal I've had in a long time that I could not find a single thing wrong. Absolutely amazing food, drink and service ! JOB WELL DONE Mr. Hayes !!!
Always a great experience and food!
Fire at the ridge continues to impress. We enjoy going there either on a Friday or Saturday night. The menu sizes perfect. You can get anything from fancy to the best burgers around. Truffle fries included. Will continue to go as long as outdoor seating is open.
The food was NOT good...at all! The vibe was good though. 🙃
This place is awesome especially if you live within the area. The palate is local. The ambiance of the restaurant is that there is something for everyone. Service was great and the options on the menu were that there is something for everyone. Date night, romantic dinner, hanging out with friends, there is something for everyone.
The food prices were extremely high
We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and were seated quickly. That is where the magic ended. We were given water almost immediately by the hostess. For 25 minutes, no one came to our table to take our orders. We spent the next 5 minutes deciding where we were going to go for dinner. We left. This was very disappointing service, but we should have read the reviews first as we found we were not the first diners to experience this non-treatment. We would have been happy if our drink orders were taken.
I love the fire pits and the live music was wonderful.
A server brought our food over and then we never saw her after that. The place was basically empty but all the servers were only worried about this one table of 6 kept doing over to them but not anyone else. servers need to work on scanning the room and multi tasking. while taking plates from other tables scan the room see who else may need help rather than a one tract mind darting to what they have on their mind.
Sat at the table for 20 minutes. We had to call the hostess and let he know no one had come to our table even though others that came in after us had. The hostess dropped a couple glasses of water and napkin on our able and walked away. Finally waitress came, we made sure we ordered food since we had no idea when she would come back for food order. When food came (not delivered by the waitress that took our order) that was the last we saw of anyone. More than halfway through our meal, even though our drinks had been empty, finally came back and asked how everything was. She claimed she was busy warming cider? Don’t really care what you were doing while ignoring us. When meal was over, she hovered over us to take the check. This was far from a busy night so I don’t get it, ignore us then rush us out the door?
While we were there, the closest outdoor fire pit would not stay lit. All that came out was heavy smoke. I have to give the kid trying to keep it lit credit. He even went so far as to dump kerosene or diesel fuel on it to try and light. Never thought I would leave a restaurant smelling like diesel exhaust.
Was nice outdoor time good food good service well worth it- greatest thing dog friendly !!!
Very scenic and good food. Staff very helpful and friendly
Excellent food, meticulous attention to cleanliness and safety, attentive and professional wait staff, stylish but relaxed atmosphere
Our meal was very good, enjoyed the music outside and sitting by the fire pits.
Great place to eat outdoors! Sunday brunch includes a ride up the mountain-great bargain!
Overall a decent dinner. When we first sat down it seemed like they had forgotten about us because roughly 15 minutes passed before we were approached by a waitress and that only happened because the hostess overheard us talking about it. Once the waitress finally came everything went really well until we were done eating. The apps and entrees came as ordered and in a reasonable amount of time and the food was all very good. After we finished eating we had to play another waiting game for our server to clear the table and ask about dessert which we declined because we kinda ran out of time. Other than being bookended by two long waits for service it was well worth it.
What a wonderful place for a fall night out! Loved the fire pit tables, will have to sit there next time around. Ciara our waitress was wonderful! Will definitely go back!
Everything was delicious. All protocols in place. We enojyed ourselves so much!
My birthday with family. Loved the skirt steak - generous portion! truffle fries - delicious. Great friendly service, safe and clean (it's COVID). Good value Fun atmosphere and it's a great view any season. My brother came from NYC and they loved visiting "the country". I look forward to returning to inside dining in the near future. Enjoyed seeing the cyclists, the kids, and in winter the skiers and sledders. We will be back!
We had a disappointing evening. The food was good but service was pretty poor. First, we were seated and then ignored for at least 10 minutes before anyone brought water or offered to take drink orders. We ordered appetizers but were not given plates, napkins or silverware until after our appetizer was delivered (we had to ask). My husband also didn’t receive the glass he’s asked for with his beer. Two of the three entrees were delivered but mine was left out, and the server didn’t indicate that it was “on its way” or “would be right out,” and since no one stopped by to check, after about 10 minutes I had to go looking for our server to ask about the missing entree. Since so many people had waited on us, and the waiter who had taken our order ignored me, I had to ask the hostess. Luckily the company was good, so we had a nice evening but not what I’d hoped for.
Terrible service. I took about 25 minutes for someone to come by to take a drink order, then another 30 minutes before we received those drinks. Food took an hour and a half. We had 3 kids under 5 and I asked for some crackers since we had been waiting so long and my kids were hungry. They were able to come up with one bag of oyster crackers for all of us to split. The waitress flat out just didn’t care. We were there two hours in all, and will never go back.
Best Lobster rolls! And Beef on Wek is amazing!
Loved being outside and that we can hear the concert from where we were. The food was good, nothing we had wasn’t good - it was just overpriced for what we had. Our waiter was good, he was slammed and made the best effort to get to us as soon as he could and we appreciated it.
Love eating outside on the porch - lots of action to watch while dining between the zip line and bikers going up the mountain. Live music was a nice addition. Garlic PARM wings were a good choice as well as the calamari- very tender-Lobster Roll was excellent and the fries were the best !! Not a great fan of the table s’mores but that’s just me. Good selection of seasonal beer.
Very disappointed. Had a reservation, showed on time, got seated and that was that. One server asked if we'd like waters after about 10 minutes, by 20 minutes we received no water, no acknowledgment that we were even there. Got up and left. Will not return.
The food was very good. Service was great. Our waitress was personable and quick.
This was the first time my wife and I had ever been there and we couldn’t have been more pleased with everything from the location to the service to the food and the value. We will definitely be going back again soon.
Casual outside dining at a beautiful location at the bottom of a ski slope. During hours, you see mountain bikers coming down.
Sun shades for every table provided. Live music on most Saturdays.
We ordered buffalo wings - extra crispy. Although they tasted ok they were not extra crispy and skin was chewy.
I ordered the lobster BLT which I was not happy with at all. The lobster was over cooked and very chewy also tasted to lemony.
My husband and son both ordered the steak frites - both said steak was just okay. Fries were over dressed with truffle and parm.
Food was so good. Lovely music and enjoyed sitting outside with the Mountain View!
Annalise was our waitress and did an amazing job. Thank you for a great evening!
Great place, great atmosphere. Love the open concept
The food was wonderful, as always. Our server Serina was delightful and made our evening even more special. Great job!
Awesome outdoor patio with great view of mountain, and the live music was a bonus. Service was slow but it was busy. Food was delicious.
Food was not that great and the band sucked. Service was very slow.
It was a very nice experience... the food was amazing and the atmosphere was very nice. Looking at the mountains and the live band started to sing towards the end of my visit.
I will be returning but this time reserving the fire pit.
My family and I came on a whim to try out the fire pits at the bottom of the mountain. I’m sure it would have been beautiful during winter with the dodge dusted with snow but was still enjoyable even on summer. We watched the mountain bikers do tricks and zip liners have a ball as we waited for our pit to be torched. Unfortunately , the wood would not light due to the previous nights heavy rain. NO worries, we just ate inside. We had the restaurant to our selves with the exception of a few other small groups. Our food was surprisingly amazing. No plate was left with anything on it. Consensus from all was we need to come back to this place again soon! Lobster BLT, Beef on Wenk, Chicken grilled, Lobster roll platter, and truffle fries top notch and fresh. We left very happy.
