The sort of place that feels as though there is a roaring fire, even though there isn't. The service was that rare thing, warm and welcoming, and casual, but exceptionally knowledgeable about the food and the wine, with perfect recommendations. The night we went the Jazz Quartet was playing a range of standards and were really professional and high quality. The food was a revelation - 5 course fish menu at a set price and a range of delicious desserts. Each course was a delight, really fresh produce and beautifully prepared and cooked. The service was friendly and professional and the overall ambience was great. For a meal of this quality and quantity £40 pp was fantastic value.
