Third time at Departure. Due to expense, only go on special occasions. Love the small plates and being able to taste a lot of different things. Ordered 6 items and really enjoyed all of them. Had Dumplings, Beef skewers, Halibut, crispy Crab roll, a dry noodle dish (my favorite). Looking forward to returning.

Portland City Grill is always a fun experience. From the 30th floor of Portland's "Big Pink" the views can be spectacular, and usually are. Over my twenty years as a resident of the Portland area I have been to Portland City many times. Actually my first date, after moving to Portland, was in the bar at Portland City Grill. I have enjoyed the restaurant with many family and friends, and they are always at the ambiance, service, food, and of course the view. I took a friend there for Thanksgiving Dinner in 2024, the restaurant had a special Thanksgiving Dinner meal, with all the fixings included. We had a wonderful view of Mount Hood. The staff provided excellent service, even with the restaurant being very busy, we still felt well cared for, and the meal was terrific.

We had a wonderful time. Food and service, with Darius, were great. It's a bit pricey but we knew that going in. I do wish the booths were more comfortable, softer and bigger, since you are there a while. It would be nice if you were a bit higher for the angle of fondue usage and we are tall. Also would love someone to come wipe off burner area after messy cheese course, but that's probably just me. ;)

Made a lunch reservation for 2 people @12:15pm. The restaurant was basically empty (only a few tables with guests seated) when I arrived. We were seated immediately at a window table with a fabulous view. A friendly server arrived promptly & answered all our questions about the menu items. My friend and I shared Caesar salad, king salmon, goat milk cheesecake and cappuccinos, all of which were delicious, well prepared and beautifully presented. We enjoyed this tasty lunch and impeccable service… we’ll be back!
