Visited for a catch up with my friend and, once again, had a good time. Firstly, staff were very friendly and very efficient, choice of food is great and suits whether you want something light or more substantial. The ambiance, despite being quiet this time, was very nice helped by the lovely decorative arrangement and lighting. Definitely worth a visit and I will definitely do so again!

We had a wonderful evening at The Ivy. The food was absolutely delicious, the decor was stunning and the whole atmosphere was beautiful. However, the highlight of the evening was definitely the service. Josh was fantastic, so friendly, attentive and professional. He really made our experience extra special. We will definitely be back.

Went for an early supper. Lovely to be seated on the balcony even though weather getting colder. Food was delicious , our guest said it was the best Spanish food she'd ever had.

Very tasty food and excellent service. Lily our waitress was very professional and even when we asked ‘tongue in cheek’ questions about ‘wild farmed’ sourdough she took it well and actually went and asked the kitchen do that she could actually give us the correct information. Nice touch with the birthday chocolate brownies too!

Really enjoyed our first visit to The Plough for our Saturday lunchtime meal. Service was great and staff were very welcoming. Food and drinks were excellent and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Will hopefully be back - even though it’s a bit of trek from home!

The Swan, Pangbourne - Sunday Lunch Review The Swan proved to be an excellent choice for a Sunday lunch meet-up with a friend. We were travelling from opposite directions, myself from St Albans and my friend from Corsham, and an AI recommendation suggested The Swan as an ideal halfway point. At roughly an hour's drive for each of us, its location on the banks of the River Thames provided a perfect setting for a relaxed afternoon. Parking at the pub is a little limited, particularly at busy times, but the Pangbourne Station car park is conveniently located directly opposite and offers a practical alternative. One small point for improvement is that OpenTable appears to need updating. My reservation was shown as being in the "Sports Screening Area", but on arrival I was informed that the televisions had been removed, and that sports screenings only took place during last summer's FIFA World Cup. Updating the listing would help avoid any confusion for future visitors. Being a Sunday, the choice was easy: roast beef for the main course, cooked exactly as I like it, followed by sticky toffee pudding, one of my all-time favourite desserts. Both were excellent. The service was equally impressive, with attentive and personable staff throughout. A particularly nice touch was that our server remembered my dessert choice from a passing comment I'd made while ordering the main course. The Swan is certainly somewhere we'll return to. Its central location also makes it a convenient meeting point for friends travelling from Winchester and Aylesbury, so next time we'll likely gather a larger group. To round off the visit, the riverside location offers some lovely walking opportunities along the Thames, making it an ideal place to linger after lunch. Overall: Good food, attentive service, a beautiful riverside setting, and a genuinely convenient meeting point for friends travelling from different parts of the South of England. Highly recommended for a relaxed Sunday lunch.
