I had been very excited to try this restaurant and upon arriving we sat in the bar area which was not too busy and did not get acknowledged for 15 minutes. Did not get a drink menu just a server who was in a rush trying to spit out a couple champagnes that they had available. After a glass we moved to the dining room and were greeted very graciously. We ordered an expensive bottle of wine which was brought out and we were given no description of the bottle. The server simply poured glasses and took our food order. We ordered a couple appetizers one of which being a Caesar salad which was quite possibly the most disappointing salad I’ve ever had in my life. The other was a carpaccio which was nice...but for $26 only 2ounces of meat felt very meek. Main courses were brought and my steak was supposed to be a strip but the cut brought to me was a Manhattan cut(same thing just cut different) not my preference because of the long muscle fibers. It was cooked well but I really didn’t feel like it was worth the nearly $70 spent on it. The other entree ordered was the snapper dish which was just very bad all around. It was basically a piece of fish on top of a bed of spiralized veggies which were all raw and unseasoned. VERY bland dish. After that the server brought us a piece of chocolate cake because it was a birthday dinner and it might have been the driest cake either of us had ever had. We each had a bite and got the check and got out as fast as we could.
Food was amazing! Staff was friendly and attentive. Cocktails were well crafted and we really enjoyed a visit from the chef!
Everyone is always great!! Food always yummy!! Dean always comes around with a smile on his face!
I have been going to Fearing’s for years. I was very disappointed in everything the 3 of us ordered. Ambiance inside and outside very nice. Will not go back due to the quality of the food.
Fearings never disappoints. Their vegan menu while limited these days due to C19, was delicious. And it is always so nice to see Dean working the dining room chatting with guests.
Service and ambiance is always lovely at Fearings. My entree (the special for the day) was not very good. The scallops were rubbery and the onions underneath were watery and had a strange texture. The valet situation out front is not good. Cost has gone up to $15 to park the car during dinner, and when I went to retrieve it, it took about 20 minutes.
It took them a while to get the food out but onces they did it was amazing!!!
Perhaps an archetype of the times we live in… Fearing’s flag ship used to be just that standard of service and innovative food that was a perpetual choice of fine dining in Dallas for years… Now, an all too common demonstration of poor service and limited and uninspired menu Met with mediocre execution. Surf and turf, one fish dish,With all too common and commonplaces if not mediocre sides. A shell of its former self and lamentable victim of a post Covid landscape. There’s no reason to spend the time or money at this destination any longer.
Amazing service. Really above and beyond.
Antelope was amazing. Pecan pie desert is a must! Service was outstanding.
Just spectacular every time!
Martin made our evening amazing!!!!
We celebrated our wedding anniversary and it was a pure joy to dine at Fearing’s! The entire experience is like no other...and with Dean visiting each table makes it so special! Thank you for the great memories!
You cannot beat the experience at Fearings. Everything from the impeccable service to the food and the presentation of the food as well as the ambiance is truly so incredible. An added bonus is you may have the opportunity to see the infamous Dean Fearing himself which is just so incredible and shows how much he cares about his restaurant and the guests. I cannot day enough wonderful things about the consistently incredible experiences I have at Fearings.
The food was okay, could have been better but everything had a funny taste.Perhaps my palate is not use to the sauces your restaurant uses. I made a reservation and asked for a happy Birthday plate for dessert but did not get it, I honestly did not know who was our waiter because he barely came back. Would not recommend or eat here again.
Food was great and the chef coming around to check on you was a very nice touch! With be back soon.
Very disappointing. I hate to write this review because I truly admire chef Dean Fearing as one of Dallas's finest chefs but when you charge $62 for an entree, then you need to deliver. My only explanation is that while Dean was talking to guests, the kitchen staff was mailing it in. How does this sound - Prime Beef Filet & Chicken Fried Maine Lobster on loaded whipped potatoes and soft taco with smoked tomato gravy? It should have been great but it looked like it was plated earlier in the day and just heated up. The plate was messy with gravy on everything not unlike an inexpensive meal in a Mexican restaurant. The fried lobster was just crusted chicken fried and if there was lobster inside it was hard to detect. Poorly presented and not tasty at all. My dish was Pan Seared Gulf Snapper on Cauliflower Puree with thai green papaya/crab salad, charred broccolini tom yum broth and smoked peanuts. Again, great description but snapper was dry and the salad was a mess so again, very poor. The Meursault burgundy white wine at $165 was the best part of the meal but required no preparation by the kitchen. Dean is a great chef so I have to believe the kitchen had an off night.
First time coming here saw the restaurant on tv. Really enjoyed my meal and staff was very polite and attentive. Also very nice to meet Mr. Fearing will be coming back.
The ambiance was outstanding!! We sat and drank margaritas before dinner and the bar was fun, energetic and friendly. Our server at dinner was nice and it was sweet that Mr. Fearing checked on each table. I probably bored him with my stories but he was kind. The wine suggestion was spot on. The bread brought to the table was dense, not light and airy. I ordered fish and it did not taste fresh, in fact quite salty. The oyster appetizer and the dessert was good (pudding).
I have never had the experience at a restaurant like I had at Fearing’s. My wife and I were celebrating an anniversary. Nothing was overdone. The special occasion was complimented perfectly and quietly. The food and the service were PERFECT. The flavors of food, wine, and cocktails compliment each other like artwork. Most fine dining restaurants we have visited, could be replicated. Not Fearing’s. This establishment is doing it right. It is a must try for anyone adventurous, and appreciative. Thank you!
The food is still not good. A little bit disappointed.
Great service for our anniversary dinner. Food was excellent reminded us of our meals in Bermuda during our honeymoon with the palate cleansers.
As always dining at Fearing’s is an extraordinary dining experience.
All of the food was amazingly delicious
The service was excellent
Would love to return
Mask hygiene by waiter was not perfect. Nose exposed
The best as always
Wonderful experience...we celebrated our anniversary and husband’s birthday... the food was flavorful, fresh and perfectly presented.
The food and cocktails were absolutely delicious. I don't think you could go wrong with any of the options.
Good food but absolutely terrible service. Not the Ritz standard.
Lovely evening out with dear friends! Excellent menu as well as service.
Food was incredible. The staff was kind and respectful.
Amazing staff, very attentive, excellent service.
Birthday for my fiancée. She loved it.
This place keeps amazing me with the great food and service.
Dean is always there to greet the guests and make us all feel so welcome.
The best Dallas has to offer in every way.
I appreciated Dean coming out to see us and other guests. That's a sign of a class act! The food was great. The service was okay but adequate! A friend set flowers and extra items for our celebration dinner, and that went well. The port was not up to par but the sauterne was fine. Overall it was a good experience.
Felt comfortable with distance of other tables and diners. Food outstanding, tried several apps and the chef and owner came to each table for a visit.
Great place would highly recommend to anyone for celebrate any occasion the food and ambience was top class.
Amazing food and atmosphere as always! Especially enjoyed the live music on the patio
Never a bad choice to dine at Fearings! I had the steak and chicken fried lobster while my wife enjoyed the Antelope with a rabbit enchilada, both were excellent. The meat was cooked just right and even as lean as Antelope is it retained the proper moisture and tenderness you'd expect from a regular steak. I highly recommend this resteraunt for anyone looking for a true "foodie" experience. Chef Fearing dropped by our table, in his usual jeans and boots, for a nice chat about food and wine. It was a terrific evening!
We had a drink at the bar before dinner & it was the best cad margarita I’ve ever tasted! The bartender was so great & friendly i didn’t catch his name tho..
Server was great also, enjoyed everything!!
