Located in the Ritz Carlton, Fearing’s has the same welcoming vibe and service culture one would expect when visiting a Ritz property. Service was prompt and attentive as we were greeted and welcomed by each member of the service team. Fearing’s menu leans toward the Southwest but with great creative flair. The menu is modest in scope but offers a variety of enticing options ranging from traditional steaks to game and seafood offerings. The crab bisque, pan seared snapper, and buffalo tenderloin entree’s were all excellent. Desserts were lovely and when we asked about the preparation of the gorgeous bananas foster in a gold leaf covered chocolate egg, the pastry chef came out to the table to chat. She was fabulous! Definitely a worthwhile dining experience and one I would absolutely repeat when returning to Dallas.
Even after Mother's Day... it was a great experience and some of our favorite people were even working that night! Hats off to Paul and Candace!
This was my 2nd experience equally as good as the first. Service and food met our expectations. Only regret was we didn’t get to try the antelope since we had the Buffalo (outstanding tenderloin) but that provides the excuse for trip #3.
We came here for Mother's Day. Missed out on the tasting brunch but was very pleased with our meal and the ambience. I had the grilled oysters (one of Cher Dean's signature dishes) and my wife had the tortilla soup for starters. Neither disappointed, the oyseters were superb and the soup had a very complex and satisfying flavor. For our mains I had the buffalo and she had the duck. Both were excellent.
Highly recommend, we'll be going back for sure!
I recently went to Fearing’s for a Mother’s Day brunch. The menu was price fixed at $125 pp and $35pp for kids. We arrived on time but were mysteriously seated 20 minutes later. The complimentary Prosecco helped but the delay was tacky. I ordered a crab and shrimp appetizer which was a hodge podge of tiny pieces of crab and shrimp mixed with something avocado which was unidentifiable. I then ordered the lamb which arrived in 2 small pieces, with one of the chops already separated from the bone. The side here too was unidentifiable and o lost my appetite after looking at a pool of grease on the plate. The dessert plate was generous - almost too generous. The best thing all day was the fresh strawberry and marscapone. My family had a similar experience but ordering the filet of beef made their outcome more predictable. spent nearly $700 on a meal almost no one in my family enjoyed and it is unlikely I will ever return to Fearing’s. The value was terrible.
Wonderful selection for Mother's Day!!! Prepared to amaze the best critic. Timely service with fresh drinks in a quiet atmosphere.
Outstanding experience for Mother’s Day. We never felt rushed, the staff was so kind and accommodating. Food was delicious!
Fantastic food, wonderful ambiance, attentive staff. What more could anyone want? Oh yeah, a celebrity chef greeting you at your table! Perfect dining! Love Fearing's!
Dean Fearing continues to offer his unique twist of Texas haute cuisine. It’s all in the little details like mesquite smoked butter and a pre-desert. Highly recommended.
Very nice location at the Ritz. Really good food, interesting selection of meats, service was a bit confusing as we seemed to have more than 1 waiter, but overall a very nice night
A beautiful brunch display. Great food in a nice quiet booth.
The food and service are terrific. The host James, however, was rude degrading and petty. We all hope he never gets a position of power because he most certainly will abuse it. A terribly cruel person.
One of the most fabulous dining experiences I have ever had! From the time we were set down till the meal was complete, it was just awesome! As busy as they were, Chef Fearing went to each table to welcome everyone in and answer any questions.
The wait staff, food, and presentation..Rating this a 5 star is not high enough
Love this place! My husband and I came here for our 10 year anniversary dinner and the minute we sat down, Mr. Fearing came to greet us and tell us about the restaurant and food. The team that waited on us was amazing, especially Moises and Jesus! They were awesome! Everything we ordered tasted decadent. The drinks, amazing as well. I will definitely be back.
Food was amazing and Dean was making the rounds spending time talking to everyone. Great dinner experience.
Great menu items. Buzzing atmosphere. Nice to see Mr. Fearing and his generous personality.
Perfect peaceful breakfast. Staff and food so very delightful.
Valet and entry into the hotel was lovely. The hostess were hospitable and quickly sat us and offered a purse hook for my bag. We ran into Dean on the way to our table and he was very welcoming and introduced the new menu.
However, some things a miss for me. The service was spotty on this particular night. They were busier than usual and seemed rushed. Our cocktails were not well made and my husbands was too strong (even for him). We did not order any other drinks after that. Our server was quite and rushed to get our little 2 top out of the way in order to take care of bigger tops in the area. We were served bread and amuse timely. The salad was also very good. The appetizer took another 10 minutes after the salad. You could tell the line was backing up and large groups were waiting for food. It took at least 25 minutes or more to receive our two entrees. I wasn’t much hungry at this point but still enjoyed my snapper a la plancha. Spicy and smoky. It’s getting hotter out so I would have liked to see something more refreshing on the menu. What was frustrating after that point was a runner delivered our entrees and our server never checked on us! Like the entire time. A lovely blonde server refilled our drinks twice and even chef came to follow up but we never even had eye contact from our original server. We waved him down for dessert menu and coffee. That was the most disappointing and highlighted the rest of the negatives from the evening. Dessert and coffee service was great but again, the blonde server took our order. She worked quickly and with attentiveness.
My wife and I went there for our 1st Wedding Anniversary. We absolutely loved everything about it and our waiter Gavin was the best. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and his recommendations really made our dinning experience 10/10.
Everything was first class and the food was delicious. Had a great anniversary brunch.
Fearing's is one of the very best restaurants in Dallas. Always a special evening - great service, superb food, wonderful ambiance, outstanding wine list - just makes a nice evening, extra special. Dean Fearing understands hospitality and how to treat guests as if they were in his own kitchen. Superb/creative menu and yet if you just want a simple steak Fearing's has that as well. Worth a trip. Among the best in Dallas
Excellent! Food was superb.
Friendly customer service who made the experience even better. Food was absolutely delicious! What a lovely restaurant, perfect for a celebration or treat!
Anniversary dinner. Food and service were excellent. 1 of the best meals we have ever had. Domestic Wine selection was a little lacking. Overall experience was wonderful.
One of the best dining experiences
Outstanding service and creative menu.
Sad to not get an outside patio spot to eat :/ Had to eat inside within the hotel. Im sure outside would’ve been better. But amazing experience regardless. 9.5/10.
‘Twas my birthday and I’ve been wanting to go to Fearing’s for years! I’m a big fan and also in the service industry. My Momma and I came for Sunday brunch. As first timers, I thought it was a good idea to sit in the courtyard because it was a beautiful day. Once brought to our table, I knew I made the wrong decision because nobody else was out there. We were greeted immediately with our server, given water and I was told Happy Birthday! We got our first drinks and starters. We went for the whole enchilada, but after that nobody came. We sat there for a good 30-45 minutes without water, empty drinks and dirty plates. I went inside to find the server and he was coming out as I was going in. I put in another drink order and once those came out our water and plates were taken care of. Overall, it was a huge disappointment in service, definitely in my top 3 of worst experiences ever. Our server was absolutely lovely but I think he was having a rough day and in the weeds, but he did tell me happy birthday at least 5 times. The food did make up for it a little bit, but still. I don’t want to say it ruined my birthday but my Momma and I were not happy.
Service from beginning to end was not what we have experience so many times at Fearings. It was a huge disappointment. The hostess was at a different stand and there was no signage to go to the hotel--we had a reservation. When we got to the stand, the hostess seated two parties before us, although, we were in line first and had a reservation. We were seated and I had to get up to request service. We got service and I had to get up to ask for someone to get our order. It just never clicked. It was service like I've never seen at any other establishment. It was not Fearings. I love the food and the place. I can't imagine why we were allowed to sit there with dirty plates and we had no one offer desserts. The place was not full, it just lacked leadership.
We had been to Fearing’s in February for our anniversary and we wanted to bring our sons back for their birthdays. But this time the food just wasn’t as good in general. The Caesar salad was very mediocre. My lamb chops were delicious however. A bit of a disappointment but still a good place to eat in Dallas.
Great food, great ambiance, poor service. Nice enough wait staff and plenty of them buzzing around, but clueless. Drinks were served for 3 of the 4 people in our party. We waited for what seemed like an eternity and the 4th drink never showed up. Had to ask the waiter and it finally arrived when I was nearly finished with my drink. They brought a special dessert for the birthday guest (thank you), but no dessert menus for the rest of us. After the birthday guest finished his dessert, the dessert menus show up. Sorry folks, this is not Denny’s. We are not going to share one dessert. We want to order our own and eat it with everyone else, not stare at one person eating his dessert. And after everyone finished dessert, the waiter asked if we want coffee. Yes, 15 minutes ago. At > $100 per person, I shouldn’t have to ask “where’s my drink, can you please bring the dessert menu, I’d like coffee, etc.”.
Great service and our appetizers were great . We ordered the main course and found it a bit too greasy/heavy. Dessert was on point and drinks from the rattlesnake bar were great. Overall we liked it and always come back here. Love that the menu changes and that they have a dedicated vegetarian menu.
The food, service and overall experience was great and very romantic which is what we wanted
We’ve been coming to Fearings since it opened. It never disappoints. Absolutely our favorite restaurant ever!
Everything is wonderful about Fearing’s!
Easter Brunch was fantastic!
We expected a nice dining experience. We were seated and waited about 10 minutes before a server came to our table. He gave us water and left. A different server came over and said, “What will you have?” There was no welcome or any introduction. We ordered our meal and what we thought were pre-meal beverages. No wine list was offered. About 3 minutes later our first course comes out. No beverage. We did notice diners walking in and out carrying bloody marys and mimosas. We had ordered a Bloody Mary and a mimosa by the way thinking they would come before our meal. At this point we were becoming unhappy. A server came to give us water and we told her what was wrong. After asking, we were then told about drinks outside as well as dessert. The day was quickly going downhill. We were all unhappy and the staff knows about this. I’ve spent enough time on it.
Loved the Easter brunch!
