Famoso - South Edmonton Common
The food was alright, the service was very disorganized. Our kids weren't even done dessert when the server brought over the debit machine to pay our bill. I could maybe understand the rush to get us out if there were people waiting but there were still open tables. We were in no rush to leave but felt very unwelcome. Famoso as a whole is usually a good experience but we will not be coming back to this location anytime soon.
Perfect place for my meeting. Both food and service were great!
We visit this location frequently as I have found them gluten free pizza crust to be one of the best. We were out out for a birthday celebration and had a lovely time. The cavaletti is still a favorite and everyone else seemed to enjoy their food. No complaints with anything and looking forward to our next visit.
We were a bit disappointed by our recent experience at Famoso. The pizza flavours were pretty good, but the Korean BBQ chicken had so much sauce that the only option was to eat with a knife and fork. Even then, it was still super soggy! The Funghi pizza tasted decent but I don't think I'd order it again. The tomato bisque side-soup was quite tasty. The waitstaff were lovely and the atmosphere was very nice... but I probably wouldn't go back for the food.

Food was excellent, as was the service. We had a great birthday dinner there with our son.
We enjoyed a small family gathering to celebrate two birthdays. The food was very tasty and fresh, and the service was excellent. Thank you, Famoso.
Everything was predictably fine. Food was good and it wasn’t too crowded. There was a weird switching of servers midway through with no explanation and our original server continued to serve the table next to us. Her demeanour when taking our orders was odd, somewhat curt, so the change was welcome. The second server was friendly but not over the top.
Food was great and came out at a decent pace. Drink specials were good too, I would appreciate a little less ice though.
Good food. Server was alright. Would come back again.
Food was top notch as usual! Staff were more interested in themselves and other off duty staff members then the guests. Had one server then poof had another no mention of the first one leaving, first one was doing her cashout at the bar right by front door. Only person working hard there was the single cook.
Food was very slow coming out. Waiter was very nice and apologized. Even gave us ice cream- gelato on the house. Salad was under dressed , prosciutto arugula pizza had WAY too much arugula. Daughter and husbands dinner was good.
Quick service, good food and nice atmosphere.
serving staff was incredibly friendly. food was delicious, famoso hasn’t disappointed us, yet. love the convenient location of this one.
Pizzas are so good and such a great value for the money spent. The beers on tap, small but great selection.
Came here with my 1/2 coupon with a girlfriend of mine for my birthday. Got seated immediately. Our server was super nice and very easy-going/down to earth. We had the cauliflower dip (yum) but I do think they could of put more chips or pieces of bread for the amount of dip we had since we had a lot of dip leftover. We also had the BBQ chicken pizza which was delish. We especially liked the amount of tomatoes we got on our pizza. It was so fresh! We would of liked our slices to be more definely sliced, as we couldn’t tell where the kitchen staff cut the slices with the pizza cutter. The gelato was amazing! My girlfriend said her latte was tasty and balanced nicely. Overall, our dining experience was great. I think just a few minor changes and the next time we go, it’ll be AMAZING!
It was our very first time here and it definitely wasn’t a let down. We were served right away. The restaurant was clean and the noise level was quiet. Ambiance was nice. The hostess and waitress we had very super friendly and attentive. The food was amazing. I especially loved the tomato bisque soup. Pizza was to die for. My husband and I will be back.
The food and the owner were great but the waitress we had wasn't very nice. She was actually rude when I asked about the wine. She made some sort of a smart remark that all wines are made with grapes when I asked her that I didn't want a very fruity one
Had a great time at Famoso. The pizzas are simply topped wood fired circles of joy in ever bite. The nutella mochaccino is sooooooo sinfully delicious your mouth will wonder why you took so long to go there in the first place.
Really good food and staff, booth at the back looks big but for six people it's to small.
We decided to come here for a break from shopping. Place was not very busy but out server was not very attentive. After ordering, our mains came out minutes after yet our appetizer came out later. The pizza was slightly burnt (our fault for not complaining) and our server apologized profusely several times. Usually service and food quality is better, so we will probably come back again, but just not as eager as before.
Great spot !
Three words, Korean BBQ Pizza! The hoisin base as the pizza sauce was to die for. I'm telling you, If you are within a 25km radius, make the trip!
Thank you. The servers were on top of it.
Best pizza I have ever had period, this is our go to pizza joint and it has never let us down and almost sadly has wrecked all other pizza!! I've tried the Korean Bbq, Spicy Thai both were amazing!! My girlfriend always gets Chicken and Pinapple which us also very good. We never save room for the nutella pizza but apparently it's a must have as well. The tomato bisque is amazing as well. I can't say enough good things about Famoso!!! TRY IT!!
We have been to a number of Famoso's, and always enjoyed it but at this location it seemed that it was more important for the employees to visit amongst themselves and create pizza boxes rather than serving and refilling drinks. We went mid afternoon, so it wasn't busy- but our food was left on the delivery area for a while and 3 of our 4 meals were cold. Perhaps we caught them on an off-day.
Famoso has lost a fair bit since the buy out by the new owner(s). Having to wait for a waiter is a bore and the change in the menu has made Famoso like another Moxie or Joeys. I miss the old Wise Guy sandwich. It use to be great sandwich for it's cost and full of flavor. It's definitely lost a lot on size and some on flavor. Of course that could also have been my disappointment coloring the experience when I received my food.
Highly recommended. We love going to Famoso! The food is good and the hospitality is always exceptional!
The food and service was fantastic.
