Fade Street Social - The Gastro Bar
So whether you’re going to the theatre, coming back from a show or just enjoying the company of friends, this casual experience is always fun and engaging to be mulled over or eaten on the run.
All the items we ordered came within 5 minutes before we had even gotten our drinks. It was not well timed and not the best service/food quality for the prices.
We've been to Fade Street a good number of times over the years and have typically always enjoyed it. The tapas style menu is very good (although sad to see some personal favourites disappear over time but appreciate that menus do evolve). I wouldn't typically write a review as it is so subjective for the most part but on this occasion I do feel the need to highlight the outrageous cost of a 'Mocktail' my wife ordered. As she was not drinking alcohol, she asked if there was anything available as the drinks menu didn't list any. Not a problem, the attentive waiter advised and it arrived in a nice glass with plenty of ice. She enjoyed it alright but then when the bill arrived - €12.50. I think by any measure that is crazy for a non-alcoholic drink. Food good, staff very good, overall value (it's starting to slip).
Amazing food and wine ! Highly recommend, great for groups. Something for everyone. Steak was great!
Delicious food, great value with the voucher! Good sized portions, nice selection of tapas on the voucher menu.
First time at fade street, the food was fabulous, the service was excellent. Great value for money. We will definitely be back. Thank you
Excellent food, lovely atmosphere. Especially enjoyed the pork belly!
Overall we’d a very pleasant evening. The food was surprisingly good in that I’d really wondered how some of the dishes would work as tapas but they did particularly the fish dishes. Service was a bit mixed in the restaurant but fine. I found service in the bar upstairs woeful. We ordered two cocktails which staff forgot about. That can happen but we were being told by security staff to drink up 10-15 minutes after cocktails arrived. I wouldn’t have paid €25 for two cocktails if I’d known we were expected to neck them in 10 minutes. The attitude of security staff upstairs was a bit over the top for me and would mean I’d think twice about going back to either restaurant or bar.
Fade Street is one of my favourite restaurants in Dublin and I am a regular customer. Unfortunately in two occasions I notice a decrease in the food standards, to be more specific flavour and presentation. For example on my last visit the popcorn with chicken - had almost no chicken, the roasted cauliflower was overcooked and no flavour, the burger was not great and the donuts were hard and super coated in sugar. It was a very disappointing visit. The service is amazing and extremely friendly. I hope they improve.
I would return to Fade Street, because overall, we really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. However, I must admit our first experience there was not ideal. We were given a great intro to the menu and encouraged to order 2-3 tapas/each to share. We each ordered a cocktail and a total of 5 tapas to share. Within 5 minutes of ordering, our tapas started coming out - with everything on the table in the next 10 minutes - still no cocktail!! It was very disappointing, because everything seemed so rushed. I wanted to sit and enjoy my cocktail before I started eating. However, everything tasted very good. Next time we go back, we’ll have to space out our ordering to make sure this does not happen again.
super tapas style dining experience. wonderful staff and great atmosphere.
Good overall. Staff are nice ! Fun place with a good atmosphere. Food is interesting and stylish
Service was prompt and unobtrusive - knowledgeable and friendly. Despite the bar being loud, the fact we were sat next to each other meant we could hear each other perfectly.
I visited the Gastro Bar several years ago and am pleased to see that it is still as good as it used to be.
Yes but bar service was very slow if you are male.
I was ahead of 4 females which all got served before me.
This happened numerous times through the night.
Awesome service from Marianna (from Brazil) the staff were very accommodating. The flatbreads so deliciously that we went back a second time. This is an awesome restaurant. Be careful when booking, there are two restaurants and a bar under one roof. Dining room or tapas both great.
Service was really poor. Food rushed out, difficult to get drinks to the table.
Friendly staff, food and wine delicious. Excellent vegetarian options.
If they have the truffle pasta it's a must get but honestly everything we had was amazing from drinks all the way to dessert! Highly Highly recommend!
The best one was the chips, chicken popcorn tasted a little bit weird and the pork belly was too hard to chew...Drinks were really good!
If you like experiencing different and delicious food combinations then Fade Street Social needs to be on your todo list. Coming in small tapas style portions the menu when we went included asian, french, spanish and Irish influences. Also the cocktails were astounding. The place gets packed so make a reservation, and expect a bit of conversational noise. The service was friendly and had the slower pace you expect in Ireland.
The food is all about flavour. Amazing flavours!
Great service, no rush.
Our server was excellent, he really looked after us without being intrusive.
The food was superb. We really enjoyed it, especially the pork belly and padron peppers. On the night they had a promotion - 2-4-1 tapas so the value was incredible
Great experience and excellent food. Recommend dining at the counter
Fade Street Social has a lovely atmosphere, especially on the rooftop bar on a sunny evening.
Food was average. We chose the early bird menu. We then needed to order extra dishes a la carte as the food was insufficient.
Service was forgetful.
CHECK YOUR BILL CAREFULLY. Drinks were added to the bill that were supposed to be included. I pointed this out and they then fixed the bill.
Really lovely staff - told us about a discount available we hadn’t known about. Food delicious and really prompt service. Front of house lady came over to make sure we weren’t too cold with the window open.
We were in Dublin for vacation, first night there we went to
Fade Street and it was amazing. So on our return to Dublin we didn’t even want to consider other options.
We arrived on time, took a while to get orders placed, first food came Out quickly but wasn’t very hot. Then a little more and we were all done except for my brother was still waiting for soft shell crabs. After flagging down waiter 2 times and same response that he would check, finally got them. Dessert was good.
Great venue for a sociable meal. Lots of atmosphere and very interesting tapas dishes. Some were great and some didn’t quite make it, but overall a good place for a meal out.
Too noisy, food really over priced, portion size too small and what was most upsetting in a restaurant the chefs were eating al the time and therefore touching and eating food whilst also preparing and serving it.
They probably don't think that customers nice this sort of thing or that it doesn't matter but it does!
We enjoyed every moment of this experience. Definitely a great deal to go on Sunday for 2 for 1 Tapas!
Excellent food. Excellent wine, recommend the Barbera D’Alba. Lovely service with a fantastic menu!
Nice ambience, quite noisy but can still have a conversation if you're sitting at the counter. Interesting food choices. Pretty good selection for vegetarians. Big choice of interesting cocktails. Slightly pricey as the portions are very small but worth it for a special occasion.
Food is superb. Quality of food and flavors are fantastic
I recommend! Go in a group and tell the waiter to create a sorted tapas for you. It is fantastic!
Yes for a nice atmosphere and drinks but not really for food or tapas
Best place I have eaten in Dublin. Great for vegetarians too. Highly recommend it
An excellent eating experience, I have been to both restaurant and tapas bar.
Tapas is not the real experience as it more seated, order food focused but the food quality was excellent.
Noise levels way to high though.
Sat at the bar and watched the chefs prepare the different dishes.
Great atmosphere everyone was very kind a must visit when in Dublin, food fantastic on the tapas menu.

I had a minor problem and the staff was terrific and quickly resolved the issue. Love that!
The 100 decibel noise level made this a poor dining experience
