Esquina Latina Restaurant & Lounge
Don't forget your family and friends as Esquina Latina is perfect for all occasions.
The food was excellent, in a very pleasant environment and with very good service. We had a show to get to, and they were very prompt.
We visited Esquina Latina at a very off-time, an early dinner on a Tuesday, so I'm not sure how accurately this review reflects a busier time.
Our server was lovely and very helpful. The happy hour drinks and eats are an excellent value and very satisfying. Our party of 4 found all of the dishes tasty, well-prepared and inviting. We'll be back!
Wouldn't hold a table where people had already shown up. Service slow.
We had a great time! It was my boyfriends 40th birthday. We celebrated with good food and the service was wonderful. It was our first time there and we are most definitely going to go again!
Nice place for a good diner or just to hang out with friends for a drink. Excellent staff service.
Bar conversation was a little overpowering with some loud patrons but they left. Restaurant might benefit from putting bar in front, side or back vs in center. Diners are ar mercy of bar patrons who might get loud.
Otherwise, Food Ambience and service was excellent!
Definitely would go back and recommend.
The food and drinks were good, but not worth the price. The service could also be better by communicating specials and being knowledgeable of the menu.
Everything was amazing! The food was better then expected, cooked to perfection. The service was some of the best I ever experienced, anyone walking by checked in with us, but it wasnt obsessive, it was just perfect. We were headed to a play so we were pleasantly surprised at how quickly evrything arrived.
We had a reservation for 6 people on Saturday night. We had someone pop in last minute and the restaurant was super helpful and managed to accommodate the extra person with no issues. Drinks were very good (had some 4 different kinds of Sangria and a coconut Mojito, ). Food was OK. Not great, but definitely good. We had the two kinds of Ceviche, Bahia Salmom and the Flounder. The ambiance was very good. Lots of people, and the dance floor was rocking. I would definitely recommend the restaurant if you're looking for a fun, lively atmosphere and you like to dance. Only slight negative was the bar. The bartenders were great, but they definitely need extra help as they were seriously overwhelmed by the amount of customers they were dealing with. Overall though, we had a fantastic time.
The drinks were not good, barely any alcohol. The appetizers were so so. I had those in other restaurants and are more tasteful.
Good Cuban food with great music
This was our first visit to Esquina Latina, which was recommended to me recently. The experience didn't disappoint as the restaurant has a good vibe, the staff was attentive, and the food was delicious (especially the churros desert which was amazing). Where the meal fell short was in the value as I felt the drinks were small (although very tasty), and the entrees were somewhat overpriced.
Always had excellent food and service at this restaurant
The only reason I gave this restaurant 2 stars is because the other people in our party said it was ok, I thought it was awful. The tostones had no flavor, my margarita was fair at best. I had the ox tail stew and it was awful. Oxtail is supposed to be braised and fall off the bone, here it was tough. I will say our waitress Morgan was very nice. I will never return.
The food was ok...I waited a while for the check and then I had to hunt down the waiter to pay. We brought a cake and they forgot to bring it to us after we asked a few times for it. I probably wouldn't go back.
Fresh and tasty food. Drinks and Appies are always fun, try and go for HHour it will help to keep bar bill down a wee bit.
Great food. Great service. A real Latina feel. Good music but loud.
The food is always really great here. The tostones needed just a touch of salt though. Ceviche was great, husbands enjoyed the Argentine Steak and the tamales appetizer was really good too. It's always so hard to choose as the menu has great options. The drinks here are delicious too. My fave is the Limonada , but he capirinha runs a close 2nd.
2 Birthday celebrations
We went for preshow dinner on a Sunday evening. We had reservations, but the hostess recommended we eat at the bar for faster service. Unfortunately my friend had a cast and the bar seat was not comfortable. Well, the hostess wasn't kidding about table service being slow. The place was packed and loud and I only saw 2 waitresses, but there were probably more. It took a long time to get our food, our glasses of water, and our check. The food was delicious and hot, so that was good. I felt bad for the waitress, but she didn't seem all that concerned about us waiting so long.
Food good...could have used some bread before hand
Prices a little high for quantity but New Brunswick comes w a markup
Happy Hour good value before Randy Rainbow Live at the State Therter.
The ambience was great. The professionalism And friendliness of the waitress was great. The food was not bad just needs a little improvement coming from a Latino patron. The only negative is the parking.
Good bar food. Fun, lively ambiance.
Best Mojito I've ever had. Great food. Great service and a block away from the State Theater. Perfect.
We enjoyed our cocktails and appetizers. Guacamole was nicely spicy and the sliders, tasty. Our waitress was a dynamo, maybe a bit over-attentive at times, but sunny and pleasant. At one point she must’ve taken a break or something because then we got a waiter whose bad attitude cast a pall over our whole table. Then the entrees arrived. While the one couple described their paella as “ok.” The chicken fricasee was confused and uninspired. The tops viejo was lost in a bed of rice that seemed to be meant for an army. Finally, for dessert we shared a piece of tres leches cake. Please explain how tres leches cake can be dry.
The service was excellent and the food was delicious. It is our favorite restaurant when we go to the State Theater or the George St. Playhouse.
This was our first time at Esquina. The restaurant has a vibrant bar scene that occupies about half the space, but it doesn't impinge on the quiet restaurant side. The service is friendly and attentive. There is a nice cocktail list and several types of Sangria. The food is very tasty and the portions are large. We couldn't finish our entrees, and if we didn't have tickets to a show, we would have had a nice lunch the next day. Desserts are tasty as well. We will definitely return.
Food and service was amazing. I love Coming here, beautiful place and great nusic
Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Our server was wonderful! She was very knowledgeable about the food and drinks, and her recommendations were spot on. We started with the Michelada and Caipirinha, yum! Tostada ceviche paired well with the Cuban Guacamole. I had the Ropa Vieja, hubby had Puerquito, both dishes were full of flavor and delicious! Friend had Bahia Salmon, light and tasty. Ended with Cuban Churros, OMG! Hot, crunchy, sweet cinnamon outside, served with vanilla ice cream. I'm drooling as I write this LOL! Can't wait to go back! Loved everything about this place!
Food is amazing but when I went the second time there was only one waitress working and she was doubling as the bartender as well. It took really long to get her attention to put in an order but the food came very fast.
The food is amazing!!!!!
Very good food and ambiance. Celebrated my husbands birthday. We had a great time! Server was good! Went for dinner then went back after for drinks after our show. Bartender was excellent. We will be back for sure!!
Food and drinks were exceptional. The place has a nice vibe to it and we are already planning s return trip.
Food was very good. Drinks were either way too strong or way too sugary without much alcohol.
I would recommend for the ambiance but the food is below average. Ropa Vieja dish is way to salty and mushy.
Over priced and entrees took 30 mins to be out !
The non alcoholic drinks were over priced. Though the staff was apologetic this is not a good value place.
Great for a birthday celebration! Food is yummy and drinks too !
Food too salty and unable to eat it. Manager minus the 2 meals from the bill.
Bartenders were unfriendly and inattentive.
Food was very taste though and came out fast, almost too fast.
Red sangria was good but sweet.
DJ and dancing gets loud and crowded on Saturday nights.
We had an amazing time w a group of 10! Myra was our server & she was delightful! The Sangrias are SOOOO GOOD & the food was DELICIOUS!! Wish we could’ve of stayed for the dancing, as it looked like it was a lot of fun! Great food, ambiance , & music.
