Ellerbe Fine Foods
Fantastic meal with great friends. Scott was awesome!
Out server Michael was awesome and as always the food was delicious!
First time here. Very foodie, but the waiter was great at explaining the menu and making the dishes approachable. Four of us dined together and each ordered different entrees. Everyone enjoyed their respective meals. Fried parka appetizer was excellent. Would recommend, will definitely come back.
Never EVER disappointed here at Ellerbe..
E V E R!
We went to Ellerbe Fine Foods with very high expectations, since "foodie" friends have raved about it several times.
From the warm, friendly greeting at the door to the table service, the level of service was outstanding: efficient, attentive, but not hovering nor overdone. (Note: the valet parker, by contrast, was notably sullen and unfriendly.)
I had been told about the outstanding signature bread, butter, and salt, all of which combined to make a mouth-watering little appetizer for our lunch. We also ordered and shared the fried okra, which was delicious (although the dipping sauce was runny and dripped annoyingly).
I ordered the pulled pork, which was in fact not pulled at all (which I thought bordered on misrepresentation on the menu) but rather a squarish cut of meat resembling beef short rib. I was disappointed by the toughness of the meat and, most of all, a notable lack of flavor in the meat, despite the peach/berry sauce on top, which I felt did not contribute anything to the pork. The cornbread was fine but unremarkable, and I found the bland side of coleslaw to be in need of some sort of flavor-enhancing dressing, sauce, or seasoning.
The wine list is very interesting but I think overpriced, especially for a friendly neighborhood-ish restaurant whose pleasant but inelegant interior did not merit the prices. My $17 glass of red Burgundy was correct but not outstanding, and I find that price to be well above norms for wine by the glass.
Overall, I left Ellerbe very disappointed, since we made a special trip to Fort Worth (from Dallas) to try this highly rated restaurant. Maybe my negative food and wine experiences were just a fluke resulting from poor selections from the menu on my part. Nonetheless, I would consider a second chance for this restaurant if we are in their neighborhood again.
The menu is always so creative. Food is so fresh and seasonal. Love the Louisiana touches.
For a very different dining experience try Ellerbes. An eclectic variety of entrees and appetizers. The portions are moderate but it is an emphasis on quality over quantity. Five Stars.
Wonderful food in a funky fun setting!! Great service too!! The halibut was delicious as was the fried okra. The steak was great and the grouper was the best I have ever tasted!!! Highly recommend!!
Friendly. Fried okra with jalapeño ranch dip not to be missed.
great food & service
All in all, a very nice experience. The service was excellent, the food delicious, and the ambiance intimate and casual. It was a bit noisy, and a tad expensive, but worth it!
Thankfully we are able to have Scott’s table each time. This restaurant is a top favorite including Scott
What a lovely setting for our 45th Wedding Anniversary! Food, service, atmosphere...everything was perfect!
Excellent, knowledgeable, and friendly service. Attentive but not hovering. Outstanding food that really is fresh from farm to table. Tomato soup, fresh salads, edamame ravioli, braised pork, bread pudding and fruit cobbler were all outstanding and extremely well executed. Nice selection of wines that are reasonably priced. A great evening - again.
My wife and I are visiting Ft Worth for the weekend from St Louis and we had a truly magnificent meal at Ellerbe’s. The food was exceptional and the service was great. We highly recommend this restaurant.
Celebrating birthdays are special at Ellerbes!
It was our first time at the restaurant but absolutely loved it. Great place for lunch or dinner. Food was outstanding and the service was great. Great location downtown. Really good value for the money. Try the bread pudding. We will definitely go again!
We were there for lunch, some of us going back to work, I watched as other tables that came in after we did were served. An important table of vips got excellent service larger portions and were basically treated differently than we were. After an hour and a half, and one person had to leave for work, we got our food. 2 salads and 2 poor boys should not have taken that long.
Really creative and delicious food, with beautiful presentation. The service was excellent.
Great service and great fresh local food. Will be returning!
Ellerbe never disappoints! The menu is always fresh and seasonal. The mixed melon gazpacho (Pic below)was creative and delicious! Service was excellent as usual and we really appreciate the professionalism and friendliness.
The food was not as good as I have had in the past. The server was very nice but a bit slow. The bread pudding was divine as always!
The best restaurant in Fort Worth. Scott does a fine job - very professional, engaging, and fun.
The food was the best meal I've had all summer!
Classy place with a great wine list. Will be going back again.
There were 5 of us total, 1 Baseball Steak, 2 Pork Shoulder, 2 quail, was our order. All the dishes came out great!!! We also had the melon gazpacho, Eggplant soup, & Bread pudding. I asked for some milk, that request put some questions on Scott B's face but he delivered!!!
Scott was a wealth of information about the building, he knew the entire history of the building and explained the sign out front. He was great.
He knew the menu like the back of his hand, no question seemed to get past him and when i find a guy like that, I make every effort to keep the questions flowing until I am exhausted, he didn't get frustrated in any manner and was totally professional all the way.
I was not very familiar with your wine list by i did narrow my selection down to 2, Scott recommended the 2016 Aubert Pino and it was GREAT!!!
Food preparation and presentat ion excellent. The staff recommendation and explainations of the various food offering again excellent.
Parisian Dinner was so much fun and the food was superb as usual. Definitely one of the best restaurants in North Texas
What a wonderful place. We love the atmosphere at Ellerbe Fine Foods and appreciate the commitment to the neighborhood. My husband remembers it from when it was not EFF. The food is stellar- fresh, unique and executed. We introduced our friends who are foodies and they loved it. We will definitely come back on a future visit to Ft. Worth.
Great foodie restaurant with a really interesting menu. Everything delicious. I got the vegetable Napoleon and would order it again. Wonderful seasonal vegetables. Husband got halibut and wonderful too. Love the fried okra! Server was great— knowledgeable but not too pushy.
Best place for dinner in Fort Worth. Trust me. Excellent food, good wine. And superior service. Really was a great time.
Wonderful food, being from Shreveport, its all the
types of food we enjoy........Felt like being back home
again.....outstanding service..... Kaye W. Williams
Wonderful food, wonderful service, and great wine. Perfect evening.
Excellent evening once again. Food and service never disappoint.
Every time we dine at Ellerbe's, we are blown away at the creativeness and the flavors of every dish we try. Scott is the best waiter and has always been spot-on with his wine recommendations. We're already looking forward to our next dinner with these folks!
Loved the farm to table food! The okra appetizer and fish entre were the best ever! They even made my birthday special with a surprise dessert and candle.
The food was delicious and inventive. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant is really lovely.
Always a delicious meal with wonderful service
Restaurant is as advertised, menu is full of great food, and the taste, service and overall experience was great. The Valet was fairly aggressive when we mistakenly drove in back, he chased us down and was stated that the only parking choice was Valet. There was ample parking on the street less than a block from the restaurant, and given his attitude towards us for a simple error, we choose to park on the street. Everyone else was fantastic, the waiter was very knowledgeable and attentive initially, and disappeared when my wife and I were having a deep discussion. This is fine dining, so its not uncommon to have a meal well over $60/person, and the value is in line with others in this class of five star restaurants, all of which I would give the exact same value rating. We will return. Thank you for a great meal.
Fresh, locally sourced veggies and fruits. Delicious, light sauces on both salmon and redfish. Excellent wine list. Lovely meal.
