this place was INCREDIBLE.
This is definitely an experience! High end, awesome atmosphere, excellent customer service, and great drinks! For a special occasion, or for a great dinner outing I highlyrecommend. The 6 course meal is pricey but worth every penny. Elizabeth is very humble, and has a wonderful dining experience waiting for you and your party!
Unbelievable food, outstanding service, atmosphere absolutely delightful, several visits by Elizabeth made us feel especially welcomed. The food was beyond description it was truly a wonderful experience.
We were a party of three; dinner was $700 so I am going to be picky. No one was at the door to greet us. The bartender said hello from behind the bar. A woman came down a flight of stairs eventually and invited us upstairs - a flight of about 15 stairs. Because I refused a table by the kitchen door and server station, we were asked to descend downstairs and wait while the staff added one place setting to an existing table. For gracious dining, i would have appreciated being invited to sit at the bar and offered a small aperitif while waiting 10 minutes before being invited upstairs again to our table. At the table we were confronted with two plastic covered menus. Was I at the Silver Diner in Rockville? I would have appreciated a lovely paper menu even if the copy could only be used once because of Covid. Although I was the dinner host, only my son was given the wine menu - another uninspiring piece of paper although not plasticized. I only knew about the wine flights from reading about the restaurant online, so information about the wine and liquor options for the evening was not evenly distributed. I didn’t see that my son had wine info until he handed it back to the waiter. I didn’t think the wait staff was properly trained. Our initial waiter was too chatty and provided too much personal information. The sommelier gave a three minute disposition on each wine which was tmi. No one could remember that much info and much of it got lost in the young man’s mask. I had to ask the waitress for a soup spoon after she gave me a teaspoon for the soup course and a fork after she dropped my fork on the floor. Not what I would expect for gracious dining. All of us were served our food at one time which was nice so no one had to wait for anyone to be served. The food was extraordinary especially for people who eat only vegetables and fruits. The music at the bar was too loud at evening’s end which was jarring despite the “bar scene” primarily by the wait staff.
Wonderful food (innovative and delicious!) and great service. Highly recommend.
This was the most special, memorable dining experience that my partner and I have had...ever? Or at least in a very long time. Each dish had novel, delightful flavor profiles and varied textures. The cocktails were fabulous, but I'm excited to try the wine pairing next time - the chef was so careful about flavors that I can see how the right wine would further complement and elevate the dish. Our server was very nice and highly knowledgeable. The best part is that they regularly change their menu, so when we go back next time it will be a whole new experience!
Outstanding 6 course dinner, plus the cheese plate. Absolutely awesome! Amazing servers, and Elizabeth actually pours the water! Expensive, but we will be back.
I try to visit this restaurant whenever I am in DC. It is always an amazing experience and just when you think it can’t get any better and has reached near perfection, it surprises and surpasses even my high expectations. This month’s menu and wine pairings are the best I have ever experienced. Every course is superb. There is a new sommelier, I believe his name is Justin, and his selections for the wine pairings are creative and innovative. The Barbera D’alba is possibly the best red wine I have ever tasted. His selection of the Bugey Cerdon for the dessert course is inspired. A visit to this restaurant is not just a meal. It is food, wine, theater, art and education but most of all it is magic and you will leave fully sated with a bit more knowledge and happier than when you arrived.
Outstanding. The best meal my family & I have had in D.C.
Expensive, and worth every penny. Every course was creative, delicious, and satisfying. All of the details were handled perfectly: the waitstaff were knowledgeable, excellently trained, and warm without being overly familiar. Lighting, decor, tableware and background music combined to create a perfect ambience in which to enjoy the beautiful meal and the company of our dining companions. Our new favorite restaurant in DC - to be enjoyed on very special occasions.
Wonderful fine dining that's vegan, organic, fresh, and a mix of raw and cooked dishes. Each dish was a creative work that combined a variety of interesting ingredients and textures. We also ordered the wine pairings, which had their own unique flavors and was quite educational for us. The service was attentive and accommodating of our requests, and the setting in a tastefully decorated historic rowhouse was very pleasant. The owner herself made the rounds and chatted with us a couple times.
We enjoyed everything about this place, especiacially since it was our 1st experience in a restaurant offering a tasting menu with wine pairing. Pricey but it is 100% worth it.
Elizabeth's is a top notch dining experience. The food is carefully designed for maximum enjoyment as well as being completely original and delish.
Outstanding experience! The ambiance was ideal and the food was both delicious and incredibly creative!
The entire experience is phenomenal. Incredible food and service.
First time dining at Elizabeth Gone Raw and it won’t be the last. Exquisite and exotic flavors beautifully and colorfully presented by my fabulous and sophisticated host Ashley who served each elegantly displayed tasting with a precise caption. The food was amazingly delicious. A dining experience like no other. Friendly, beautiful, and professional servers and host, and staff. Elizabeth was present and personally greeted her guests, approaching each table, and with a peripheral eye she makes sure the dining room. food, beverages, and servers deliver the best quality imaginable. The warm, beautiful, elegant, and charming interior design comforts one upon entry. Immaculate Star Excellence .
Each dish had too much going on. Corn soup had a fava salad in it along with red pepper mousse. It was if the chef tried too hard on each dish. Less is more most of the time.
The restaurant also charges a 20% "service fee", that I assumed was the tip, which I am perfectly fine with as the service was solid. However, the server informed me it was a "service fee so she can earn a living wage and I can tip on top of it". So basically, the restaurant owner does not want to pay the employees a "living wage" and put that on the diners. BUT, did not share that until after the meal. Very bad business for the owner and I feel for the poor servers.
Phenomenal. Every single course was amazingly delicious. The staff were kind, professional, and excited about what they were doing. This was an opulent experience. It took about 3 hours from start to finish. We leisurely drank good wine and chatted while working our way through the menu. It felt like a good progression of flavors. The carmelized parsnip cup was a lovely amuse bouche. “Salt of the earth” was a symphony of flavor and texture. I have never had anything like it before. The crispy okra in a sort of tomato-mushroom sauce was an absolute showstopper. It is everything you want in a savory, homey stew, but elevated. We were stuffed by that point, but gobbled down dessert anyway. The birch sap ice cream with peach custard was a delicious end to the evening.
We will absolutely be back. It’s definitely expensive, but it’s worth it. After all the wine, food, tips, etc, we ended up at about $225/person. These dishes were delicious works of art. If you are looking for a fine dining experience, this is an excellent choice. If you are looking for a specifically vegan fine dining spot, you absolutely need to check this out
Beautiful ambiance. Perfect for a special date or occasion. Very nice and courteous staff. We felt very taken care of and welcomed. Food was a unique experience which made our night truly memorable.
This was absolutely amazing. The food was spectacular, the service equally so. I have never had such an amazing vegan meal and will definitely return. This place is worth every penny and I HIGHLY suggest attending. Absolutely top notch.
Hands down the best fine dining restaurant in all of DC. You cannot beat the food, the service and the ambiance. This is the perfect place for a date night or a special occasion.
Amazing. Start to finish. Service. Food. Ambiance.
It is an experience. Basically the best possible vegan meal. But, obviously, that is limiting. $330 for a dinner for two with a “half” wine pairing is pretty steep.
Only come if (1) it’s a special occasion and you’re interested in something different or (2) you’re loaded.
Delicious food done with creativity, artistry and care. Excellent wines. Attentive, friendly, professional service. On a Michelin scale, this restaurant is "Worth a trip".
The vegan tasting menu was definitely a unique experience, but it was a 3 hour ordeal that totaled over $450 for three people. Service was very attentive but slow.
This was our first time dining at Elizabeth's Gone Raw, and it was an amazing experience. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and the staff are highly professional and knowledgeable. As for the food, it is pure genius. The chefs are unbelievably creative. That said, it should be noted that my wife and I are neither vegetarian or vegan. Don't let the absence of meat, fish, or animal products keep you away from this gem.
Amazing what they can do in the “raw”. A great special occasion type place.
Wonderful host, great food, great place to celebrate or impress
This is an amazing dining experience. From the moment you walk in you know you are somewhere special. You are immediately greeted by a bartender and hostess. You invited into a beautiful, elegant space with an ambiance of an era gone by.
You are then escorted up a beautiful stair case and seated at your table where the evening is explained to as far as cocktails or the wine tasting menu as well as the optional appetizers. I highly recommend adding the wine tasting menu-at $60 for a glass with every course I thought this was an exceptional value. The sommelier is just wonderful-he explains each wine and why he choose it for the course. As a novice wine enthusiast I felt comfortable to ask many questions and learned so much throughout the evening. The courses are generous is size but paced so nicely that we were not overwhelmed. Each course was exceptional in taste, plating and presentation. This is a truly exceptional restaurant. The level of service, atmosphere and quality of food served with this level of attention to detail is very special. What struck me the most is with all of this the atmosphere and staff are warm and inviting-it is in no way pretentious or snobbish-it is simply inviting in everyway.
Thank you to the team at Elizabeth's for a wonderful and memorable evening.
We went back to EGR two weeks in a row after a year of not doing indoor dining and the experience did not disappoint! And we were lucky enough to experience two different menus. Truly exceptional food, service, ambience - these were two wonderful evenings to remember! I can not recommend this restaurant highly enough for highest end vegan cuisine! Thanks so much to Elizabeth, Chef Carlos and the entire team at EGR!!
From the flavors to the presentation to the service, Elizabeth's Gone Raw is one of the finest restaurants in DC. An absolute treat.
EGR is not just creativity on the plate. It's executing a meticulous vegan concept designed first and foremost to be delicious for omnivores. Every bite is its own experience.

Wonderful service and ambiance. Plant based food was creative and fantastic. Definitely a special occasion restaurant.
Fantastic experience and excellent, creative foods!
Raw food gone wild!
In my opinion EGR is Michelin star quality. It can be difficult to find vegan options at this level of fine dining and EGR does it so well as the main thing they do, not an after thought.
Absolutely stellar as always! I always feel so spoiled and happy after a visit to Elizabeth's Gone Raw!
Amazing food, amazing service amazing atmosphere. Highly recommend
An incredible dining experience with delicious and beautifully presented food, lovely ambiance and fantastic customer service
Dining at EGR is an experience! Plant-based food never looks so beautiful and so good.
