El Mariachi Tequila Bar & Grill
I wasn't crazy about the food, it tastes like tex- mex, and not authentic Mexican cuisine, the margaritas weren't that great, it was so sweet you couldn't enjoy the Margarita, too much syrup, not a fan.
I love this place! Great value for bottomless mimosa brunch and the wait staff is very friendly and attentive. Griselda was a great server. Chips and salsa are amazing too!
This is my favorite mimosa brunch place. Great food and great pours.
My favorite brunch in the city!!!
It was the worst experience I’ve ever had at El Mariachi and it used to be one of my favorite places to go. They sat us in the private dining room in the back and knot had one server who was clearly frustrated and it showed in his service. We had to wait 10 minutes to even get a drink order. The food, when it finally arrived was cold. It had clearly been sitting in the window for some time. The eggs were dry and the “ crunchy hash browns” in the Buenos Dias Skillet were mushy. The check was I correct but he was no where to he found to let him know. I will never go back to this place again.
Nice environment to have brunch! Nice and friendly staff!
Excellent service from start to finish. Will be back!
So fun! Loved the food and the bottomless mimosa aspect
Loved the food and ambiance. Very fun place to take a group of friends. Would definitely recommend
The service and food were excellent!
This is our favorite restaurant. Everyone takes such great care of us. Food is always delicious. Nadia is the best server in town.
We made brunch reservations a few hours in advance, but arrived a half hour early given how busy it gets there and was seated at our table to the minute of our reservation time. I must admit, we were concerned of what the quality of our food might be because brunch is always pretty packed for hours straight, but nonetheless all of our dishes came out hot and absolutely delicious. The staff was on point and our server was fun and pleasant. BTW...our champagne flutes were never past half full the entire visit. FYI..it's very loud there, but after a few minutes you don't even notice.. We look forward to returning very soon! Cheers - E
Went with our kids at 6 pm on a Friday for my birthday. Server was so sweet and drinks came out quicker than normal, but food service was insanely slow. It took almost 45 minutes for our dinner to come out and our kids were losing their minds. Food was decent. I randomly got a shrimp burrito, which I wouldn’t recommend again, but kids chicken quesadilla and husbands beef burrito were delicious.
Paula was amazing and very attentive. The rest of the service was so special, and we will definitely be back again!
Margarita’s were WAY overpriced. Fish tacos bland and ver little fish and too much pickled cabbage. Not a good value. Service was slow.
Had an absolutely fantastic brunch at El Mariachi with my boyfriend before a Cubs game. The food was incredible- so many delicious flavours and tastes blended into my meal. The portions were very generous, I wish I could have finished it but I was too stuffed! Our server was so lovely and attentive, she always came around with mimosa refills even before we were finished our glasses. The courtyard patio had such a fun but laid back vibe and it was great to be able to walk to Wrigley field after. Would 100% come again!!
Enjoyed an evening out with friends after a Cubs game. Delicious margaritas. Great patio dining, close to Wrigley. We would definitely return.
Place is always great and the food is amazing. We went for brunch the mimosas were flowing and food was delicious.
Everything was great until about an hour later when half the party felt sick to their stomachs :/
As a vegetarian, I loved the options on the menu. Our server was attentive, polite and kind. Our drinks were always full and the garden atmosphere was gorgeous! I ordered a chimichanga with beans and the only reason I didn’t give the food 5 stars was because it came with a slight color of (maybe) beans and a what seemed like 2 cups of onions and peppers. I expected there would be some visible refried beans or even black beans. I do realize this may be my own personal standard and with that said, the rest of the meal was outstanding. I will definitely go back and simply be more explicative about my expectations. Highly recommend!
My favorite Mexican place in Chicago!
I absolutely love El Mariachi! Their brunch menu is to die for. Plus, $25 bottomless mimosas, which includes a meal?! There's no beating that. The service is incredible there, they listen to exactly what you want in your table side guacamole and are so quick to refill your bottomless drinks. I'm a customer for life!
Love this place!
What a terrible experience. Our server took forever to take our order, every time she did come to the table she couldn't get away fast enough. She'd ask if we wanted anything and then walk away before we could answer. Our food took well over an hour and they were not busy. We were charged for things we ordered but didn't receive and the food by the time we got it was terrible. Then while we were still trying to eat the waitress suddenly started clearing the table, taking drinks and food we weren't done with.
The food was great as always, but the music could have been turned down a bit. It was hard to talk over it.
Service was great! Food and drink another plus! The place is small but still had a great time!
The place was not even open for the time it showed available for reservations.
We went on Pride Sunday and our waitress handled everything like a champ. Drunken parade revelers and still our food showed up in a timely fashion. I hope she's home and relaxing by now. Good place that did it all well 🏳️🌈
Our server was great, only thing that was annoying was the fact that when we made the RESERVATION, we were told it’d be TWO hours of bottomless mimosas and that it ends at 3pm. Also the sign that they had plastered all over confirmed bottomless mimosas ended at 3pm. My RESERVATION was at 1:15 and they didn’t notify us until the MIDDLE of our meal that they were closing bottomless mimosas at 2pm instead of 3pm because it was pride. So basically we got cheated and only got 45mins of bottomless instead of the full TWO HOURS. I get that it was pride but I had asked the day before and I didn’t get my money’s worth and was truthfully cheated.
Staff were very accommodating and service oriented in ensuring that our annual pre Pride Parade brunch was a great way to start the day.
$25 bottomless mimosas+entree is an absolute steal! Food is AWESOME and portions are huge. Bottomless is always fun and great for a get together!
Food is average. Rice and beans did not have any flavor. The sopes appetizer and mole was delicious. Salsa for the chips was good too. Food is overpriced for what you’re getting. Our Waitress was un attentive and seemed distant towards us. The other staff were pretty friendly.
Service was bad and since we had 8 people we got auto grat so that makes me even more mad.
We had a reservation for 10 and they crammed us in a space big enough for 6. We pulled another table over and the manager told us it was a fire hazard and made us squeeze all 10 of us in a small corner space. We had to ask for menus and then got 4 menus for 10 people. Took forever to order a drink. Finally got some drinks then waited forever for orders to be taken. Overall the place sucks!
The overall experience was horrific. The waitress at our table was nice as well as the bartender that served us during our wait. The restaurant host was rude. I totally understood not being able to accommodate a party as large as ours without prior reservation but after making a reservation for 6 they still did not want to honor the reservation I was able to make through this service. Once were finally seated, It took so long when we were finally seated to be served and then to be served the wrong food a couple members of our party did not eat. This was about a 4 hour experience of chaos.
I normally love this place and come for brunch about once or twice a month. This time however was not great, as the server we had was very handsy and kept rubbing my back every time he came to the table. It felt very inappropriate and made me uncomfortable. He also told us he started our 2 hour mimosa period before we even got our first mimosa which felt unfair.
Wanted to try this place for awhile. The food was okay, portions where small compared to most places. The restaurant was extremely noisy and tables are very close together; it was hard to keep a conversation. The service was slow and it appeared the servers were spread extremely thin. I’d probably not return to dine again.
Love this restaurant, the big issue is always the noise.
Amazing Shrimp Enchiladas with Mole! Also the Margaritas were bomb!
