Pretty disappointed that we couldn’t get a table next to the window considering I made the reservation almost a week in advance and we were there for my son’s birthday. Even more so considering how many times we’ve been there over the last 20 years. We’ve been loyal to Duke’s but we still get treated like nobodies.
Limited menu - few choices for a seafood restaurant/ food well prepared / appetizers are small portions
Food was average at best. Service was solid. Views were great. Just know that you're not going there for the food. You're going there for the view.
Valet parking of $7. Not a big deal but unnecessary. Meals a bit pricey and happy hour confusing. Host said 5 to 7 for apps and all drinks only at bar. Bar then stated only until 6 and only for select beer and wine!
Awesome location, adorable setting, and great food!
All six of us enjoyed our experience and are looking forward to visiting again.
Duke’s is always a for sure thing. Meal, service and ambience are excellent. We had a large party and our server didn’t miss a beat. Friendly, professional and proactive. Food was delicious and the menu has something for everyone. We will be back soon.
I was ready to give 1 star because when we arrived for our reservation we were seated in the booth row at a window with a broken screen. We moved into 1 of the 6 other open booths just to be chided by the hostess saying we could at most move one booth over. Luckily our server was delightful and the calamari delicious. I’m on the fence if we’d return though.
We’ve been coming here for years, server was slow, didn’t communicate what was on the menu, took a long time between items , we love the fish and shrimp on the banana leaf but the portions were much smaller same for the Caesar salad which looked mediocre, the hula pie had very little fudge sauce, we were disappointed
Our server was very busy, and yet she made us feel as if we were her only guests. The cocktails were delicious, not overly sweet nor too sour. The views from every window are breathtaking.
We shared the coconut shrimp appetizer, a wedge salad, lobster tails, and hula pie dessert. Great food, great location, beautiful ocean views, reasonable prices for Malibu.
Sat a a community table in the bar because we were early for our reservation. The best item we ordered was the fish in the banana leaf and the cheeseburger.
The chowder was like mash potatoes and to thick with little flavor. The nachos and shrimp were standard bar food and the ribs a little too spicy. The chocolate molten cake was delicious. Fun place for our visitors.
I brought my mom here for the her 1st time since it was her birthday. (Leap year baby) I’ve been here many many times over the last (almost) 20 years. The service we received from Cody was great. We kept asking for items and he was on it. Food was amazing as always. My mom really enjoyed her hula pie. It was a great night. My mom thoroughly enjoyed herself.
Incredible Gastronomic Experience
Great service and view
Pretty disappointing. Felt like we were eating at a Denny's with a good view. Food was disappointing with really slow service. Very loud, but we were there for lunch on a Saturday, so it was pretty packed.
Celebrated our son’s 21st birthday and had a wonderful dinner at Duke’s.
Server was very nice and pleasant, he just had way too much to do to be able to give the attention a place like that should have.
It was average. The view was great but overall a 2.5-3.0 stars out 5. Our waitress although very nice disappeared for a long while.... then appeared & said sorry I disappeared for a while with another party. I found that dismissive.
The food was wonderful the crispiest poke tacos with a creamy guacamole!
Cocktails could be more balanced, too sweet.
Decent food, rather expensive. Overall, a little disappointing.
Food was delicious and the service was excellent. Our waiter Jon B was so friendly and attentive. He gave us recommendations and would could up to us every now and then to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was so good and the view was killer!
My husband and I had their Sunday brunch yesterday. I think the overall quality of the food is good. The prime rib, however, is a bit tough. I was expecting the meat to be tender. The rest of the buffet is just awesome. Their breakfast sausage is to die for. Definitely not your typical breakfast sausage. The price? it's excellent. I was expecting to pay more because it's Duke's, but I paid more for brunch on sub-par restaurants.
My family love the place. Great food, nice people. Great ocean view.
Great for big groups! Get their ice cream pie for dessert!
Never a bad day at Duke's, with aloha everywhere. Perfect for everyone.
Fish was great, onion soup was good, rice and chefs dessert were sub-par.
It was a Birthday and I really enjoyed the service and food.
We stopped for lunch on our drive down to San Diego. What an experience! Beautiful views, great food, fantastic service. Our server even asked about cross-contamination because I have a food allergy. Make sure to leave room for the hula pie dessert!
We travel to Westlake Village every year and always make sure we find time to stop by Duke's Malibu. It is always excellent everytime.
It was our first time at Dukes for my birthday. Rex made our birthday lunch very special. Friendly staff and AMAZING food. Will definitely come back. We would love to come back for a night event as we hear is awesome. Until next time Dukes!
Great location, super food. Worked perfectly for a family with grandma and 2 kids.
We always take out of town guests here and it is always an amazing experience from service, ambiance to fresh amazing food! The views though! Can’t beat it. Love it here!
I always enjoy going to Dukes. A great ambiance and even better view. Always a great time. One of my favorites in Malibu
Friendly, professional & accommodating staff. Great food as always and surprisingly not too pricey for lunchtime.
10/10 overall!! This was the perfect place to spend our Valentine’s date :)
Sunday brunch buffet is phenomenal Duke's on Sunday via Jimmy Buffett
Five ladies celebrating a big birthday 🎂 had a wonderful brunch experience today!
Good location. Valet parking. Takes reservations. Ambiance is lacking. Looks like a diner/cafe. We live by the one in Huntington. It has a different look. We were in a booth along the window and it felt quite cramped. I'm 5'2" 108 pounds. My date is 6'3". His feet were tangled up with my brother in laws. Lol. My entree was delicious. Mac crusted mahi in lemon caper. Coconut shrimp appetizer was okay. Mud pie is always awesome. It was a cold night and they leave the front door open which makes for a cold wait. I noticed the hostesses all wearing black boots with their Hawaiian dresses...lol. And a space heater at their feet. Overall, a restaurant on the Malibu coast is always a nice evening
