Duke's Seafood & Chowder - Alki
Birthday Brunch. Everyone was great and it was my first time dining at saltiest.
The only downer was the cooked fish at the far end was dry and hard. Other than that, everything was great!
Love the crab cakes and cocktails. Wait staff super personable and friendly.
Dukes is a friendly restaurant. The food is great, lots of options for vegetarians and non fish eaters. The service was very friendly and patient. They did not rush us, even though the place was busy. The scenery at Alki is the best Seattle has to offer.
We visit Dukes frequently. However our last visit on Wednesday, November 20th was quite disappointing. I noticed the dish the next table was having (the ribs and seafood skewers) which looked quite appetizing and I asked the waiter. I ordered that to share with my mother. Incidentally my 88 year old mother was treating us... when the dish came, it was in a large soup bowl.. the ribs were quite burned the skewers (prawns and scallops) were burned as if the grill had not been cleaned.. I know because I cook... not appetizing at all to eat...I did not complain because I did not want to ruin it for my mother and for my husband and daughter. Also my husband's caippino was very saucy versus "soup" I am sorry overall the food and the value was not good at all.... it will be a very long time before we will visit the Duke's establishment. I would have brought the receipt for some form of compensation.... $158 for stale food.... this should not happen now a days...
Love Salty’s - out fave spot - our friends were from out of state and they were really blown away – thanks so much to the chefs and your great management and hostesses!
Love Duke's! It's a staple for me to take out of towners :) My family enjoyed the chowders immensely
Great service very friendly let us enjoy our special time together with our good friends thank you
A must restaurant to visit in West Seattle in terms of best service, scrumptious food and view of the water!
Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful in choosing from
the amazing menu.
Kyle was a great server and our food came out piping hot.
Slow service and mediocre food. Disappointing experience.
One of our favorite places in the area. They provided superior service for our granddaughters 9th birthday family dinner. The food is excellent and they have a great kids menu. They brought her a joke birthday treat (on request- a private joke) before the real thing, and it was a hoot.
We are in the club and they give great deals and discounts off each meal, as well as birthday dinner or 1/2 price wine. Mondays are also half price wine night, and the adults took full advantage. Keep up the great work Duke's!!
Great experience all the way around!
They made a mistake on my order and deducted it from our check. Fabulous seafood salad.
The portions were smaller than in the past. I had a starter spinach salad that cost $10.90 that was half the size of the past and I added Dungeness crab for $8.90 which was watery and lacked crab flavor. My husband had a similar experience with a blackened salmon Caesar which cost $25.90. Our bill was over $60 for iced teas and salads. I guess this makes us the dummies.
Went on Sunday at lunch time with a party of 5 with a reservation. We were seated right away at a table that appeared to have been set for us ahead of our arrival. Had some cocktails, Blood Orange Marg/Bloody Mary's/Mac & Jacks beer to start that were all great! One of our party was gluten free and ordered the rock fish tacos which came on flour tortillas (not GF). Had to wait a bit to get the correct order while all other entrees were served. The cheeseburger was perfected cooked to temp requested and reported to be very good. I had the mixed grill which was okay. I thought the portions were small for the price as there were only 3 small shrimp, 3 small scallops and what I thought was an average size for a crab cake, served with a grilled potato and fresh vegetable medley. The scallops were cooked perfectly and were delicious, though I would have liked them to be larger or add a few more to compensate for the small size (same for the shrimp). The crab cake was okay, not as large of crab lumps as I would have liked. The two sauces served with my entree went well, although I would recommend serving a couple of lemon wedges with this dish. The vegetable/potato side was very good. Everyone else said they enjoyed their entrees, including the guest with the corrected Rock fish tacos. The staff apologized for their mistake but made no other accommodation or discount for the inconvenience of one guest having to wait for their entree while everyone else was served. Otherwise, it was a good experience and we will return.
Their menu has changed. Service great, menu not great. Clam chowder was a disappointment. Not sure I'll return.
Good food and nice location. Very pricey.
We have tradition with friends go to Dukes friendship reunion, we always order almost same things, rockfish rock tacos, calamari and salmon bites-sliders. Love the place. But last week realized what tacos become smaller and jump to couple $ up. Price is not bad but at least keep same size of portions.
And size salad for calamari this time we didn’t like it, corn with garlic, before was better. Overal love Dukes and will come again
Everything was wonderful, from the atmosphere, food and our server. Thank you!
Was disappointed, I chose Duke’s for my birthday lunch. Two of my family members ordered chowder with their meal and when they received it, it was lukewarm. The waitress said something about it being the bottom of the pot and do we want to send it back-duh? Had to keep asking for water glasses to be filled. Have been to Dukes a few times with no problem.
We had a very enjoyable evening at this place. Everything we ordered was good. The Cioppino was good but we especially liked the wild salmon with blueberries and goat cheese.
You could have given us a later reservation time because at no time were all of the tables in use.
Great atmosphere across from Alki Beach. Our party of two arrived for dinner and were seated promptly. The hostess and server (Joel) were very friendly and helpful. Crab cakes, rockfish taco and traditional clam chowder were all excellent. We will definitely visit again.
Perfect spot for lunch
We were seated on the sunny patio and our view was just stunning. Definitely worth the slightly inflated menu prices. Food and service were exceptional as well.
My wife and I were greeted immediately upon arrival. We requested outside, shaded seating. The greeter went to check and quickly returned and offered us the perfect table for viewing the spectacular waterfront as the sun was heading towards a golden sunset. The crab cake was the best I've ever tasted for our appetizer. The fish and clam chowder were delicious. Duke's is by far our favorite restaurant when we visit Alki Beach, but the Lake Union Duke's is our number one go-to spot for lunch and dinner whenever we are in Seattle!
Delicious as usual!!
They were amazing in every way possible ... from our request with Evan for an upstairs table celebrating our anniversary... to the attentiveness of the hostess, our server John and the manager on duty Brad, everyone went above and beyond to help us celebrate. The food was amazing of course
Waiter John is 1st class. He made our night special with his over the top customer service skills. Many thanks.
Pretty tasty food, great value for the location. Had a nice time with my family. The waitress we had was very friendly, enthusiastic and accommodating. Actually, all the staff were friendly, from the hostess to the bus person who was so kind to agree to take a picture of my family and I for us.
We went for my husbands birthday, he had never been. Took us forever to get waters and our order started and my meal came with a topping I had asked for them to leave off. It also took almost the entire meal to get a refill so overall we felt we could’ve received better service, but food was delicious.
Good cocktails, nice appetizers, very good chowder, good entrees, very good table service, pleasant greeters. Restaurant looks worn and in need of an update👍🏽
Food is good, and menu is pretty creative. We weren't blown away by anything. We were told by our server that the coconut prawn appetizer was amazing, and it was just okay. Our salmon was very good and that is what we came for. The view is nice, too.
Nice lunch on Alki with family - waitperson was very friendly and food was very good - nice salads
Perfect view, perfect food. So great. Can't recommend enough for the price point.
Very good dinners. Busy Tuesday evening. Window table. Very much a so cal vibe in the northwest
Loved our table - forgot to bring out our entrees. For a table of 3 it was a 3 hour dinner. Such a bummer because we loved coming here.
Nice place to watch the beach. Great food and service!
What a troubled night. And of course we brought a visitor from out of town and were hoping for a nice evening. They apparently didn't connect us with the open table reservation we'd made, even though we gave our name. The drinks sat and sat and sat on the bar until they were brought to us lukewarm. The new waiter struggled. Our table next to the front door was a front row to the constant chatter of the hostess to a group of friends who annoyingly kept coming in and going out. The actual food was very good. We had been there just two weeks before and had a lovely time. It must be hit and miss. This was Tuesday night, so maybe the manager has the night off. Of course we came home to a note from Open Table wondering why we hadn't shown up for our reservation. Of course we had. Just one of those experiences where you leave feeling like you won't hurry back.
Terrible service not paying attention didn’t care that food was slow no apology will never go back
