With its most recent refurbishment Dukes can now properly call itself a venue with two bars, three private events spaces, a grill restaurant, excellent smoking facilities, canalside terrace and balcony overlooking the canal basin. Dukes continued appeal relies on its ability to transform from a relaxed, family friendly environment by day to a vibrant and stylish bar and grill by night.
The space has been extended and refurbished since its opening in 1991 and inside its interior combines contemporary features and its trademark antique furniture.

Always a great time at Dukes the service and the food was great as per usual.
Had a great time at Dukes 92 yesterday. The table was booked for 2 hours but we were able to be seated when we turned up early and stayed until 15 minutes before the table was needed again.
All staff were very friendly and accommodating.
We will definitely be returning.
Great place to come for afternoon meal and drinks. Great atmosphere and a quick and friendly service. Will be sure to return
Good table service the food was lovely and worth every penny.
Great. night out for end of work night! good food and service.
Dukes is my fav outdoor place to eat. Ideally in the sun, sadly not the other night. Nonetheless they have made the most of both Dukes and it’s sister restaurants covered outdoor space. Sensible food good drinks and great service.
Booked an initial table for 6 inside anticipating bad weather but moved outside to the covered area where we sat until those that had booked arrived. I didn't catch the girls name but the host sitting guests was really good... friendly and had a laugh with our group. Other staff were also friendly and efficient. Good food, prices in line with the rest of town. Good central location for meets.
Brilliant food lovley place great staff
Quick service, great food and good value, would 100% recommend.
This restaurant looked absolutely fantastic from the outside, once we entered it looked even better. When we got seated I explained I was Coeliac, then a manager came over to explain they only had one thing available for me to eat which was extremely disappointing. Due to this they very kindly gave me and my partner a free drink but we didn’t eat in which upset us as we were so excited to eat here.
The drinks order took a while. The food however was lovely.
Bit disappointed with the service, we ordered on the app our meals arrived before our drinks , and I felt the portions were small , had to ask for cutlery and napkins as non offered with the starters.
The service and food were outstanding. Even though we went with out 2 young daughters we didn’t feel out of place.
The food came and it was wrong when we told the waitress she did not apologise and seemed quite put out that we mentioned the food was wrong.
Gorgeous Sunday lunch out without the kids, though I’m sure they would have enjoyed it too. Really nice tasty meal, awesome gravy and roasties to die for 😊
Music way way too loud. In fact as a dr I’d say it was dangerous. Impossible to have gentle conversation with girls. Whilst food was good I will not return unless volume is reduced to sensible, balanced and calm levels
Cocktails were amazing, food was gorgeous and we were well looked after
Service was great but sadly food was not great. Burger was ok, steak was over cooked and chewy when medium was requested. Chocolate desert was like a pot melt in the middle chocolate desert from M&S and even that was over cooked to the degree that the middle was could and the chocoholic left 25% as they couldn’t be bothered chewing any more. Usually everything is great so can only presume to be problems related to the silly covid pingdemic.
Great place went with the family lots of options for everybody, 10/10
Had a really lovely time, good food nice staff great atmosphere
Staff was friendly and the drinks came out quickly. The overall vibe of Dukes was pleasant.
The castle field board was amazing! Cocktails fab too!! French fancy was my favourite
It was very busy and loud, tables close together so it felt a bit crowded. Good energy tho
Superb food, fantastic setting and a really great experience. Would recommend the experience of this restaurant to anyone looking for a good afternoon/ evening out with friends and family
All round a great experience - location, ambience, customer service, food & drink. Will go back when next in Manchester.
The food and location was enjoyable. Staff were too busy to give people eating the necessary attention. Using their carpark proved problematic by not being given the correct information by door staff.
We were met at the door by a rather rude male member of staff, no pleasantries, no small talk, barely a hello. When we arrived at our table outside he simply pointed at it without speaking a word. He never explained the QRcode contactless ordering and left us to our own devices. The table was visibly dirty and we had to ask a waitress to clean it for us.
However the food was great when delivered the cocktails were lovely too and the chap serving the food was also polite despite being busy. The ambiance was spot on and music choice also perfect.
Some work on your staff and it will be an awesome place!
Excellent service lovely seating area very chilled day with friends
The location was beautiful, the staff where help full and really nice, seating was nice would fully recommend it 👍🏿👌
Great lunch with friends first visit since lockdown
The service was very poor - no one bothered to clear our table after starters and the main course was served with sll the dirty plates still there. We actually had to ask the waitress to take them away. The toilets were awful - bits of rubbish and lol paper all over the sinks and the floor. Paper towels in a roll on the side soaking wet through.
For a place as lovely as this in such a great location the service was totally inadequate.
Food OK but nothing special. Drinks slow to arrive.
This place is the best in town. Great food and staff!
Great evening great food & drinks great friendly staff very accommodating made us some seats outside when we booked inside.
Dukes is our go to place in Manchester but think they might be starting to failure of there own success. Food was good as usual but service was awful. Ok drinks came relatively quick using the app but thats where it stopped, empty glasses and food plates left on the table for ages waitresses walking pass and just ignoring them just not good enough !!!!
Wonderful atmosphere, excellent food extremely friendly, efficient staff and excellent service
Great venue, views was beautiful, staff was lovley and very helpful especially the girl who greeted us. I have jerk chicken burger, seasoning on the burger tasted burnt so couldn’t taste the flavour of jerk. Overall happy with our visit, will be going back
Very nice music was very loud outside which was a little distracting.
perfect! and the loveliest friendly staff , we had a dog & children with us too which we thought might be a problem, a lovely evening thanks 😊
Booked quite late on a hot day was surprise to get in. Loved it! Staff friendly, food and drinks amazing! Back soon!
Food was gorgeous drinks service was really slow our food came quicker than the drinks. Ordered our drinks and after half an hour they still hadn’t arrived the staff were very apologetic about this though so can’t complain about them .
