Dragonfish Asian Cafe
LOVE the food here and come often. The eggplant fries are amazing!
The overall experience was nice. Eggplant fries were my favorite.
Food was suitable for the price. Nothing to brag about but I enjoyed what I did eat. Salmon was cooked nicely. Spicy tuna was quality. Their happy hour menu is pretty sweet. Our server was quirky and friendly. Seemed like he genuinely wanted to do a good job. The speed at which the food came out was a little off. Seemed like we ordered before others who got their items first. Things came out in a weird order. I wouldn’t go out of the way to tell my friends about this place, but if they asked about it, I’d tell them that they’d enjoy eating there. Especially that happy hour!
Great experience! We went at 5:45 and caught the tail end of early happy hour. The food was delicious, the portions generous for happy hour, and everyone was kind! We went with our baby, and they helped us find a place for his stroller. Would highly recommend
Food was tasty but service was terrible. We recieved the wrong drink and one member of our party never recieved thier food until we were paying. I like the flavors but service will keep me from returning with a large party.
My brother was in town with his girlfriend for a few hours during a layover. He was craving Asian so my boyfriend and I took them to lunch at Dragonfish. Once we placed our order, it took 15 minutes for the drinks to arrive. It took another 20 minutes for the first order to arrive. Another twenty minutes later, the third person’s dish arrived. At no point did our waiter return to check on us. After ten more minutes I finally saw the waiter and asked about the fourth person’s order which still hadn’t arrived. After some discussion with other staff, our waiter returned to say that dish was no longer on the menu and could he place another order for us. We had placed our order over an hour ago at that point and he just realized this? We placed another order and requested to talk to the manager. The manager never showed up. In the end the waiter did remove the fourth order from the bill but also charged us for another item that we never received. Complete and utter incompetence! We saw similar situations happening to other tables. The kitchen may be to blame in part or they will say they were just busy but I’ve never seen a worse waiter. They were not at capacity - empty tables were available- and busy doesn’t excuse idiocy. I will never return.
The salmon was amazing.
The food quality is not as good as before. Will not return
Do not recommend the breakfast certain items not available from menu eggs very greasy. Waited to long to be seated and served. Almost 2hrs for a simple breakfast.
Was traveling in Seattle and stopped for dinner here. My sister is a vegan and my son has life threatening dairy allergy. They were able to accommodate them beautifully
Monday is happy hour from 4pm until 1am
Great ahi poke and incredible service on a Friday for lunch. A great value!
We were here from out of town. The host explained that the items were limited for the night and we decided to proceed otherwise. The food was amazing for sure, the speed of service was sooooo bad. We ordered chicken potstickers as an appetizer and somehow we received three orders of them, 20 min apart, still no entree. We sent the second potstickers back but they kept bringing them. We were there for almost two hours. It just seemed like a bad night for the team. The restaurant was packed as we left. The staff just seemed overwhelmed and the communication of items that were limited. The food would make me go back, id have to check on the item availability before I go again.
Really can't comment on the food. We got seated only to discover we were given Happy Hour menus. Asked for dinner menus and were told that they were out of most things so no dinner menus. We wanted a meal, not snacks, so we left and had a lovely meal elsewhere. Poor planning, people! Used to be one of our favorite post-theatre restaurants. No more.
Excellent food and service. Will definitely come back!
Happy Hour at Dragonfish is the best deal in town. The food is delicious and the cost is super reasonable.
Great Asian fusion food with a nod to the highlights of the tastes of China, Korea Vietnam etc
Great happy hour menu especially the tempura peppered bacon
Delicious delicious delicious!!!
The lemongrass chicken was incredible! My boys 11 & 13!both loved their dinners (sushi and Chinese sausage fried rice). My husband chose shrimp curry and it also was a big hit. We will be craving this meal and be sad we are back in Oklahoma without Dragonfish down the street!!!!
Traveled a long way for a chamber of commerce event and heard great reviews about the restaurant. The service was spotty with some people bringing food saying that they weren’t our server and couldn’t take orders or requests for items like refill on drinks. We would have at least 10 minutes between our server coming by. The seafood tasted frozen and not local. I was extremely disappointed to have wasted a night so far away.
Went to Dragonfish before a show. Kitchen was backed up and we did not get half of our food. They did not charge us for the food we did not receive. The food was tasty. They are close to the theaters, so they should expect the pre-theater rush.
Dragonfish is one of my very favorite restaurants in Seattle. I recommend it to everyone that visits here. The food is amazing and the service is always top notch.
Had a great time stopping by for dinner before a show at the Paramount (just down the street). Took advantage of the happy hour which is amazing value. Some of the happy hour dishes are a little sweeter than I expected, but decent enough variety and we liked being able to try a bit of a bunch of different things.
Long standing restaurant in downtown Seattle. Great for a quick bite prior to the theater, concerts, etc. Reasonably priced delicious food but suggest maybe a few more options on the menu.
The food was yummy. The ambiance pleasant. The service excellent. Plus a terrific downtown location walkable from cinemas, the mall, and major stores. The downsides were: limited menu, small portions (we had to order additional items twice during out meal), and relatively spartan decor. Overall, a definite A, albeit one that’s closer to an A-minus.
Very disappointed. We have eaten at Dragonfish before and loved it. However, our experience this time was totally opposite. It was Sunday at 5pm before a show at the Paramount Theatre. They were out of a number of items. They tried to substitute ingredients but the food was flavorless. Their happy hour drink menu was confusing. I thought I was ordering a happy hr glass of wine that ended up costing $13. They charge for a small bowl of rice which they didn't tell. We expressed our disappointment to the server. I asked to speak with the manager. Turns out, the server had miscommunicated our concerns to the Manager. After finally getting the communication straight with the manager about our disappointment in the 86ed items, the poor service, and the fact we're charged for a small bowl of rice, she reduced our bill. Won't likely return!!!!
Lovely service with fantastic food! The cocktail selection was wonderful. Our server, Peter, was awesome.
Our server was a little flustered, but super friendly. The cocktails were very good. What I really enjoyed about the food is that everything has unique flavors. Too often, Asian or Asian-fusion kitchens use too many of the same flavor profiles in different items. Really liked the food!
Our whole family loves this restaurant! The food is delicious, the atmosphere is inviting, and the service is warm, friendly, and knowledgeable.
For the most part you guys were amazing. We tried to come in a second time though after a comedy show at the paramount and we were treated like second class citizens by the hostess. Besides that our first visit was perfect.
I've had MANY dinners at Dragonfish. This time my food arrived luke warm (my guest's dinner was piping hot). We were seated in a back room that was louder than any other table I've sat at in the past. Our server was understanding, however we arrived in the rush of a pre-Paramount sell-out show (Wicked). She could do little to correct the deficiencies. I hope that experience is never repeated.
We were pretty short on time and let our server know that. However, he insisted on still showing us specials, and talking much more than we felt was necessary considering that we repeated a few times that our timeline was short (we were going to a show).
Food was good, but took forever to get served! We ordered appetizers, then we sat there for 40 mins with no food or drinks. Very disappointing.
Our server, Bob, was delightful and we would go back to see him even if the food was a 4! We had the rice dish and the pad thai with shrimp, awesome. We also tried the lychee nut martini, you can't find them in very many places; the bartender did a great job.
We made reservations at lunchtime during a giant teacher convention. Despite the pressure, our service was excellent, the food delicious, and prices reasonable.
Great service and got us in and out for a theater curtain
Went there with my wife before seeing a musical. It was unexpectedly excellent! The food was amazing!
Amazing happy hour! Perfect for after theater. Reservations mandatory to avoid long wait. Initial service was slow bit improved as our stay progressed. 4 of us sampled most small plates, some several times. Happy hour drinks and desert, too. Tab was 85 dollars before tip.
The restaurant was moderately busy but not overwhelming at 4 pm on a Sunday. Not an extensive menu, but all items we ordered were good. It was disconcerting that they share a bathroom with the hotel; you go through a hallway to the hotel lobby, take an elevator up to the bathroom and then need an access code to get in. The hostess rattled off instructions so quickly that I forgot the 5 digit access code by the time I got there and had to go back down to the lobby and get it from the hotel staff and trek back up to the bathroom. I ordered a side of rice that wasn’t served and it took nearly 10 minutes to get someone’s attention to get it served. We ordered dessert and after 15+ minutes we flagged our waitress down to just get the check. She said “but it’s the next order to come out. Don’t you want it?” I explained that we had been waiting several times throughout dinner for items, that we had been there over 90 minutes already,we had theater tickets, and needed the check. While the food was good, Seattle is loaded with excellent restaurants and Dragonfish isn’t going to stay on my list of places to return to.
Decent service, but the food was very average. For being pan-Asian, the menu was remarkably limited.
Excellent food and service. Make a reservation if you want to dine before a show. Very crowded.
