Dos Caminos - Times Square
Dos Caminos is a go-to for my wife and me when we hit the city for a show or a concert. The staff is attentive and engaging; the food is interesting and delicious; the drinks are cold and refreshing. We've been many times and will continue to return for their excellent take on Mexican food.
Had an early lunch to beat the New York crowd. Service and food was excellent.. definitely recommend it.
Ryan provided amazing service. We had less than two hours since we had a show at 8 pm, so he knew that time was important for us. He suggested the food and provided us with a time frame for the food to be ready.
Food was fantastic and service was wonderful. Will definitely return!
Excellent experience as always. Our server Brenna was fantastic! We were a large party of 9 and received our orders promptly, with timely apps and drinks. Only complaint this time was the Machado Breakfast Tacos were much spicier than usual. Otherwise, highly recommended!
The Guacamole was not even as good as store bought, it was tasteless and inauthentic at best. The food arrived barely warm, had to be sent back to be re-heated. In general, the food had a lot of potential, the place was unable to properly execute. It was a disappointing meal. I would not go back to Dos Caminos in Times Square, I do think others around the city know how to provide tasty food.
Nice meal. Definitely better than my last visit. Will be back next week
A good mex-mex meal. Generous portions but not overwhelming.
Service was good....food came out cold both mine and my wife...it was her birthday and we had only guac and chips....manager took care of the bill but overall experience was not good....
Love the staff at this Dos Caminos location. We try to have dinner there when we are in the area as they are attentive and friendly each time we visit.
Reservation went great... walked right in... told waiter we had to make it to a show.... he kept us paced perfectly! The food was exemplary!! Margaritas were slamming!! Great time great food
They did not have our table ready. The hostess was horrendous! Very rude looks and remarks.
The manager did try to make things right and was very courteous and kind. Offered free guacamole and chips. We decided not to have a full meal here because by the time we were seated we only had 20-30 minutes to closing. Poor experience
The food was truly outstanding from the fresh guacamole to the sangria to the tacos and enchiladas we were dry waded with the quality. The only issue was the bathrooms were all quite dirty.
Server Gilbert didn’t introduce himself. He came to the table after 15 min and said “what would u like” how about you tell me your name first? I know I come almost every week but I like to know the servers who are serving me instead me calling them by “hey”
I only know his name because it said it on the check at the end
Took another 15 min to get my first drink. I think he had to many tables because he seemed to be all over the place.
Then the busses took my chips and guacamole from the table without even asking me if I was finished and I was not done eating it but didn’t want to cause a seen. The bussers should ask if the guest is finished with their plate before they take it.
I’ll be back next week. Hopefully the experience will be better as a LSM :(
Good Mexican food, margaritas and fun atmosphere. Everyone in my party was happy.
Great food! Everything was delicious! Very personable server (Billy). He was excellent as was all the staff from the minute we walked in to the minute we left! This was the 2nd time we were there and we will definitely be going back!
Delicious food and margaritas!
Service and decor was great, food was good too. Our mojitos were perfect. The only problem was the noise level. It was very noisy with not a full room. They should improve the acoustics to help absorb the conversations and music. With concrete floors there is nothing to absorb the sound.
The ambiance is great , dead smack in the middle of Times Square so much to see ,very busy area , the food was not great , overpriced for value and the taste was not excellent but it was ok . I would try it .
The best guacamole, great cocktails, excellent helpful service, able to customize for food allergies, and overall excellence.
The waiter messed up our order I think partly because he couldn't hear because of the loud music. I asked him if the order came with rice and beans and he said no. I ordered the shrimp and asada enchilladas and told them all sauces and creams on the side. They came out over a thick bed of beans which had I known I would not have ordered a side of rice and beans with the cream all over them. When they brought it to the the table it looked more along the line of soft tacos and he told us the rice and beans were on the house but charged us for it anyways. We ordered 2 sides of corn and they only brought 1. I have been to this place so many time and for so many years this was the first time we ever experienced this.
Only negative was the bathrooms- not enough and could be cleaner.
My friend and I came for brunch for her birthday. Our server was Carlton to start and he had an attitude and pressured us to place our order for brunch consistently, 4-5x even though we were having a bottomless brunch till 4 pm. We arrived early for a 1:30 pm reservation. He barely came to the table after knowing we were taking our time even though our drinks were finished. My friend asked him how his day was going and he blew her off. We saw him by the server station pointing at us and being unprofessional knowing he wasn’t happy with the fact we were taking our time.
After a bit another server, mellissa approached us to let us know he was leaving and she was taking over. We thanked her as she was attentive and polite. She served us a few more drinks and dessert. We were much more pleased with her service than Carlton.
I have been to 3 out of 4 Dos Caminos and have never experienced the service I have had here today.
Meal was way too salty. Drinks were delicious and had a great server.
We picked Dos Caminos last minute after a matinee. No problem getting a reservation. Our waiter was very attentive. the portions were plentiful and everything was tasty. I would return.
Several time repeat customer. Asked for specific table, by table number. Res person convinced me I had the wrong number and placed the 4 of us in an undesirable location. Table I wanted was now occupied, and mgr on duty confirmed it was the table numbering originally requested. This is 2nd time this has happened. Not sure I will go back for strike 3.
Meh. Not so great Mexican food. The guacamole was fresh and tasty. The fajitas were great and they only gave 3 tiny 3 inch tortillas with it. And it was weird being seated in a near empty basement feeling room downstairs when there were open tables upstairs. Waitress was ditzy and inconsistent. This was my 2nd and final time. There.
Went for a brunch with my half. For around 20 dollars per person, we can have a nice main entrée with coffee or tea and juice or brunch cocktails.
Everything was good. Good quality for price.
I went there at 3pm on Sunday and this was empty in the basement.
Absolutely delicious. Just the right sized portions. I'd definitely return, and look forward to visiting the other branches. Very high-end Mexican food.
Went to this location for a pre show dinner. Atmosphere was ok I was expecting a little more of a fun place. Food was just ok not fantastic. Margaritas are not the best in the city as they claim at least the happy hour ones were not. Hate that you have to order chips and salsa? Should be included IMO. Tortilla soup was good. Meals came out while still eating apps. Can’t stand that. Had the grilled fish tacos they were good but not amazing. Our waitress was great though. Most likely won’t be back.
Food was delicious-fresh guacamole was the best!
Don’t order the fajitas! Dining area very smoky...people at several tables coughed whenever a fajita order came through. Ruined our meal by not being able to breathe or see clearly.
No complaints! Liked everything
Our family visited Dos Caminos for lunch before a Wednesday 2:00 show. Everything was really good and extremely fresh. Our guacamole was mashed right after ordering. Our table ordered fajitas, quesadillas, and a burrito. Everybody enjoyed their lunch thoroughly, the only negative would be it was a $200 lunch for 5 people.
I’ve been going to Dos Caminos for years and have been to most of their locations in NYC. The Times Square location was very loud, the food prices were higher than the other locations and the drinks were weaker. This place is for tourists only.
It was disappointing to have a lot of fat in the carne asada tacos. However, the worst was never being offered a refill of my water or soda. Seemed like the customer service level wasn't a concern.
The food was alright nothing spectacular. A little pricey for what we got. The wait service made up for all that. I only wish I could remember his name he made it worth while going to Dos Caminos.
