Dos Caminos - Times Square
Food and service was great. I didnt hear the waitress when she asked what kind of water we wanted and we ended up with 2 $8 bottles of water. They offer still or sparkling but no mention of tap water. Make sure you specifically say tap unless you want very pricey bottles of water! That is a money grab on their part.
Food was good but the overall experience was awful. As is normal for me on business trips I was dining alone. The restaurant is connected to the hotel so convenient. Service was awful and I was ignored before, during and after the meal. They didn’t have the first two glasses of wine I chose - a Chardonnay (!) and a Sancerre. I waited forever for the check. Overall, not a good experience despite the food. I suspect because I was a woman on my own.
Great service and the manger came by and made sure everything was perfect!
Have been here many times and every time the service is on point. Great drinks, delicious food, love it!
Didn't feel like the other restaurants they have. Was very noisy touristy and had a rushed feel. Service was like fast food employees in a "moderately upscale" setting. Skip it and head to one of their other locations.
Every course was excellent tasting and well prepared. The waiter Lenny staged the meal perfectly so we did not feel rushed. Here were the items we choose:
Margaritas to start
Fresh made guacamole
Spicy cerviche tuna
Slow roasted ribs
Fried sweet plantains
Rice and beans
Stuck us downstairs when there was seating we wanted upstairs. Brought sauces for guac when we were 3/4 done.
The food was great. Service was wonderful. Affordable prices. Delicious drinks.
Better places to eat- it was average at best
Food was not good. Place was a mess, didn’t look like other Dos Caminos. Bathroom was filthy. Would not recommend this location to anyone.
I felt like the Resturant looks a little worn out. Our service was good. Took quite a while to get wine and after waiting the waitress came back and said they were out of what I chose. I ordered a salad which didn’t have much flavor. Needed more cheese and maybe a dressing with more zip. The chips and guacamole were delicious but, the portion was tiny! All and all the restaurant was just ok. Well located for the shows.
This was a very good Mexican restaurant close to times square. The majority of the restaurant is downstairs, not visible from the street. If I were just looking from the street, I might not have picked this place to eat. I’m glad we went there. Very good drinks, and a very good menu. We had a great server, Jordan. Definitely a place a couple, or family, could go while visiting Manhattan. I would definitely dine their again.
Consistently good food! Great service, and a nice space.
Food was bad, Margarita was good but small and over priced. Mainly though, the food was bad, enchiladas tasted like they were prepared 6 hours earlier, fajitas were bland. Hardly gave us any salsa.
We went here for a pre-show dinner around 5:30 on a Tuesday. It was packed! Luckily we had a reservation. Oddly, we had to wait for one hostess, who then directed us down a steep set of stairs to another hostess. Anyone who has any trouble walking or climbing stairs would not be able to manage in this restaurant.
Our server was great. Very friendly, efficient, stopped by to check on us often.
The food was disappointing. The prices were high (not a shock for Times Square), but the portions were very small! My $11 sangria was tiny. Served in a regular sized wine glass with too much ice.
My husband ordered steak tacos and received three very small tacos with no sides. It was more an appetizer size.
The best item was the guacamole. It was delicious, but $28(!)
Back of house please keep sending out quality food!
Waited 35 min for my first drink to be told they did not have one of the ingredients to make it- so I ordered another drink with my server who after taking my replacement drink order, went to the 10 top next to us and took their food order- so it was another 15 min before I had a drink. Was close to leaving. Food was good but if you value service DO NOT GO HERE!!!!
The brunch food was amazing and we really enjoyed the ambiance overall wish the drinks where more strong lol
My friends and I went here for brunch and we kind of expected the worst since this location is right in Times Square but it was amazing. We were in the lower level and it was like we stepped away from the bustling city. The food was great and their brunch is amazing! We’re definitely planning to visit again!
Seated in basement area - food arrived cold and no one ever came by to ask how our meals were - no ambiance - fair margaritas- good guacamole. Tourist trap
Basically nothing special. I've been to other dos caminos and this had zero ambiance. Food was ok. Waitress was nice but ordered a drink, 2 seconds later asked to cancel, and 10 minutes later she came with the drink and charged for it.
Great food coupled with great service is a win win! Brunch at Dos Caminos best!
The noice level was way to loud!!! We almost turned away!
Having visited the Dos Caminos is Las Vegas multiple times I had expected this location to provide a good experience despite its Times Square locale. I was wrong. First the noise level was dialed to 11. Multiple music systems blared distinct music throughout the entire space at a painful level. Second the service can best be described as neglect. Third the execution on the food was exceptionally poor. There was no redeeming quality of this restaurant.
One of favorite spots - food and drinks are delicious!
We sat in the downstairs dining area which had great ambiance and fun decorations. The guacamole and salsas were outstanding, and all of our main dishes were great. Our server was attentive and professional. Great experience overall!
Waitress was not friendly. Food was delicious!!!
Hostess cussed in front of us as we were waiting to be seated. Took a long time for waitress to service our table. Appetizers was brought out at same time as meal.
We dined at Dos Caminos twice during our visit to NYC. I had the nachos both times and they were the best I’ve ever had. My husband had the carne asada steak which he also enjoyed. The downstairs dining area is large and nicely decorated. We would definitely recommend Dos Caminos and we’ll visit the next time we’re in Manhattan.
Horrible. The staff needs to learn servixe !! The food needs improvement. The restaurant is going down hill. It literally sucks!
Buena, el servicio muy normal
Wait staff was very good, food was not ample but well prepared. (Have to order chips and salsa to begin meal as an appetizer). Margaritas were tasty.
Came in on the recommendation of a friend. It was amazing!
We had a reservation for 5 people. When I got the hostess stand there were many people in line who did not have a reservation. They were told the wait was at least an hour, we were told to go downstairs and our table would be ready for us down there. The downstairs part was a much better ambiance than the upstairs so I was happy about that. The hostess was a little rude and the host downstairs was MIA... we had to go find him ourselves and tell him we had a reservation. We then had to wait for our table to be ready. They said they were short on bussers. We waited about 10 minutes for our table to be ready and were seated. Our server was SO nice and so much fun. He made the dining experience so much better. We ordered queso which was good, but the salsa is not good (it comes with 3 different flavors - very watery). The food was actually pretty good and so were the drinks. We ordered flan for dessert which was also pretty good. The food was good, but nothing special. The server made the experience great, so if you go, I hope you have the same server we did!
The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. Although, the drink menu was pricey, I would still recommend this restaurant to friends and others for a great time. The decor is impeccable!
Had such a great time here. The food and drinks were phenomenal and the staff really friendly and accommodating. We arrived 45 mins early for our reservation and were more than happy to sit at the bar, but we were seated right away. Can’t wait to go back. Really loved it and didn’t break the bank.
Waitress and service was excellence!
Wonderful time! My friends and I enjoyed our time there! The staff was so kind and attentive! Thank you!
Our server was fantastic and the food was delicious
Our waiter was attentive and very friendly. I had asked for grilled fish and it came out fried, but they took it back and fixed the order fairly quickly. We sat downstairs, which was a spacious, cool atmosphere. Good food as well!
