P.E.I Mussels, Spicy Red Curry & Miso Coconut Broth
We went there to celebrate my birthday, and I had a great time! The food was good and the ambiance was just right - we will definitely go back!
My husband and I went for what was supposed to be a lovely date night. We had valet park our car and proceeded into the restaurant. When leaving the restaurant we noticed our car parked off to the side, still running, with the keys in the car. Needles to say we were upset! Was our car running the entire time? We’ll never know. Anyone could have driven off in our car. When we went back inside to complain to the restaurant manager he said it’s not his responsibility. My husband kindly pointed out the the restaurant’s name is on the sign for valet parking. They took no responsibility! We didn’t even get an apology. The $200 we spent that night will be the last time they get money from us!
Quiet place nice ambience quiet to enjoy your company’s conversation. The food was unique filling and tasty no complaints one should try this place as well
It was a nice first time experience. The server was polite and we didn't feel rushed at all, we actually sat over 2 hours. The music was for all ages and was at a decent volume. The only issue was the freezing cold water in the restroom, but that was minor.
Long overdue brunch before heading into the city to capture the sunset. Two Dolphintini’s and the Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding made my weekend 🥰
The food was not really good. Enjoyed the drinks! Service just ok.
Very disappointed in this seafood restaurant. Restaurant was not crowded and it took 30 minutes for our appetizer to arrive and the another half hour for our entrees to arrive. My lobster tail was basically raw and the sauce was bland. The number of seafood entrees were limited for a seafood restaurant. This used to be a very good restaurant.
Nice little place to go for a dinner date
First time spending New Years at Dolphin Restaurant.. and it was delicious and so much fun!!
Someone was smoking and we could smell it in the restaurant. Waiter was fine. Ambiance was ok. Food decent. Very mediocre experience for me.
Decor is very nice and waitstaff is very friendly. Parking is hard and for $5 you can use the Valet Parking. Food is good but not worth the price you pay for. Portions are small, the Seafood over pasta comes in a large pot instead of a plate. Fried Calamari was fried to perfection but comes with a Garlic Aioli instead of the traditional Marinara Sauce Italians are use to. The Bread Pudding wasn’t over sweet which was good. The MY Cheesecake was small more like a tart. Overall it wasn’t bad just ok.
The food was really good. Well cooked, well seasoned. The staff members that helped up were very kind and friendly. We went for my mom’s birthday and to take advantage of HVRW. The ambiance made it feel like we were miles away from home though we never left.
Will definitely dine here again to sample other menu items and to celebrate future occasions.
Excellent food and service
Food was cold and not very good unfortunately found the appetizers to taste better.
Our lunch was very good. The mussel appetizer was amazing. A great place for a casual lunch with a friend.
I would recommend this restaurant.
We found this restaurant listed on HVRW and thought we’d give it a try. I had the butternut squash soup and my boyfriend had the spinach and artichoke dip, both were incredible! I could’ve just kept eating the soup all night! We both had the steak with chimichurri sauce and truffle fries. The steak was cooked perfectly, the sauce wasn’t great at all, it really just tasted like raw onions. We had the apple crumble and the pumpkin cheesecake. The apple crumble was to die for! My boyfriend really didn’t like the pumpkin cheesecake. The service was exemplary. I would love to again and try other items on their menu
Food and staff are amazing. The owner came to our table to see if there was anything we needed. A true gentleman.
I had the Greek salad, Mashed potato, Rosemary chicken, and Jumbo Shrimp cocktail. Everything was delicious. I love the outside seating. The manager and his staff are all very nice and attentive.
Had a late date night with my fiancé. It was a rainy night but the place felt so comfortable and relaxed.
Food was good especially the crab nachos, we ate outside and could see the river traffic on the Hudson.
Generally a pleasant experience.
Food was mediocre and service was awful. The water view wasn't great.
This open air restaurant has tables overlooking the Hudson River. Cozy lounge tables too. The outdoor seating has no respite from the sun so not good for dining. I marvel they don't have umbrellas, a pagoda or even a plant to shade the patio to take advantage of the beautiful view. The shrimp tacos my husband ordered were pretty good. The waiter recommended "The Sea" but it was overcooked and dulled by the tomato sauce - though the mussels and clams on the bottom were nice. A bit disappointing.
Good food, nice vibe. frustratingly close to the water without a great view.
beautiful location by the hudson river. food was good but service was poor. at least it wasn't pricey.
For the most part it was a very good experience. The only thing that could have been better was that the waiter wasn’t very friendly and didn’t seem like he was happy to be working. Other than that everything was fine and I but not sure if I would return anytime soon or even at all. There is a lot of competition when it comes to restaurants in that area and if you want customers to return you must provide excellent customer service.
Sunday brunch at Dolphin is always a great experience. Service is great, food is good, drinks flow freely... what more could you ask for?
My family and I attended a dinner gettogether this past weekend. We had prior reservations. Our waitress was caring and attentive. She was definitely on point with taking the order and providing the adequate service. However, the food lacked flavor, it was not cooked to the temperature asked for. The quality and presentation of the food was exceptionally disappointing and do not plan to return.
The dolphin is consistently great. The atmosphere is fabulous, the service is superb, and the food is spot-on. I must say that the cocktails are superior, as well. I wanted something slightly outside of the box. Bartender took the bull by the horns and got creative.
My only complaint is when you're sitting outside there are no umbrellas so that brutal heat is pounding on you. It makes the stay very uncomfortable. I don't know why after all these years they have yet to either installing an awning or have umbrellas or just basically come up with a solution.
We requested a window table. The windows looked like they had never been washed.
Great atmosphere and spectacular service. They went above and beyond!
Went to celebrate my birthday. The server was very nice and accommodating but the manager was terrible. Unlimited drinks were staggered. I had 4 mimosas in 2 hours. Generally service is quicker. Then we asked for split checks and the manager said no because they want their tip. Which was $66 on the check for a party that increased to 9. However 4 people were willing to tip $20 each so they lost out on good money. Its ok though. Area is beautiful and I'll check out xaviers instead.
We have enjoyed each of the meals we have had at Dolphin Restaurant. My husband and I took his parents to dinner here a few times in the last year, and each time we have had wonderful food and gracious service. We will certainly come back again!! A pleasure!!
No wait with our reservations. Food fresh and great tasting.
We had a great time at Dolphin for my cousins birthday dinner! There was a little band playing in the bar area which provided a great atmosphere. The drinks were flowing and the food was delicious! We really enjoyed the bartender(owner) and his father’s homemade sambuca! The only piece of constructive criticism is that the service was not great. From the very beginning, the length it took our appetizers, the lack of check in from when our meal arrived etc. The attention to the service could definitely be improved. This being said our server was lovely and very pleasant, he just wasn’t very on top of it.
Have dined here on numerous occasions and never been disappointed.
Wanted to try a different restaurant for our anniversary and was not disappointed the food was good, the service was friendly overall it was a great experience.
The ambulance was really nice waitress Diana was tremendous the only problem was parking but one of the employees allowed us to park behind his vehicle. Coming from South Florida where Seafood has a premium overall I would have to say this was a very good experience thank you
We were a family of 9 having dinner. Unfortunately the service was terrible. We will not be returning. We had made a reservation 3 weeks ago and reconfirmed the day before when we got there at 7:30 we waited 20 minutes for our table. They put us in a back room alone which was fine except the staff completely ignored us. It took 20 minutes for someone to bring bread and she basically tossed it on the table. The waiter took our order and we waited for an hour. The food was not hot although it did taste very good. No one refilled our water glasses the entire meal. Then we asked for more bread and it didn’t come until we got upset and the meal was almost over. When we complained they finally paid some attention to us but the damage is done. We spent $500 and they add an automatic 20% tip to the bill which might be why we were ignored.
Everyone was great and the food was delicious! Had my birthday celebration there. Thanks for a great experience!
