Food was very good. We loved the porky flat bread appetizer. All three dinners were gobbled up. Jordan our waitress was the best! Always good here, never a dissapointment.
this has been one of my favorite restaurants and I've been coming here every couple of weeks since they've opened. the guys is always amazing. i took a friend of mine that was visiting nyc last night. we had planned on a leisurely dinner starting with a few appetizers and going on to entrees later. we requested to order appetizers and then we'd place our entree order later. we were told we needed to place everything at once. throws a wrench at a leisurely dinner experience. instead of ordering 3 appetizers, we ordered one.
Food is good, wait staff good but busy, great pre theater/concert place. Extensive drink/beer menu.
The most delicious Tangine!! And Cod was great also.
Mushroom flatbread was super tasty.
Looks Gastro Pub with excellent food choices.
This was a super fun night out with the hubby! Place was very active - bar area was really noisy but the dining area was fine. I mention this because many reviews mention the noise level as being bothersome. No so in the dining area. Food was amazing - we ordered different appetizers. Very delicious and satisfying. Tried one of their specialties drinks called Good Medicine ( scotch based with honey ginger syrop and soda) YUMMY!!
We had a reservation and the table we ended up using was available, but the host/manager sensed our desire to sit and purposely kept us standing until the precise moment of our reservation. We stood for ten minutes because he chose to make a point when we said our entire party was ready to sit. When we realized it was the empty table that was our own, I decided I to write a negative review.
We made a reservation for my moms 55th birthday. We had plans to go to the Billy Joel concert directly afterward. We were sat at a quiet table in a back room off of the bar for 6:30 dinner service. We informed the server of our need to be out by 7:45 and he was able to deliver exceptional service, amazing food and drink, and even a birthday desert to my mom. Our experience was amazing and the food was SO good. We had the short ribs, two flatbreads, the mussels, the duck and the lamb chops- and it was all to die for. Will definitely be back the next time I’m in the city!
Loved the bar vibe and my Cucumber Gimlet. Table was ready on time, service was excellent and we were not rushed. The flatbread, croquettes and yucca fries were my faves.
The food overall was very good. My cocktail (the cucumber gimlet) was not well-balanced (way too much lime, very little cucumber flavor), but the crab and corn soup and brussels sprouts were delicious. It's very noisy, but it worked for us for pre-concert dining. Can't say for sure if I would recommend it--depends on the circumstances.
Food was quite good- especially the lamb tagine and service was fine but the noise was deafening. My ears hurt. Would not go if I wanted to talk to anyone.
Other reviewers noted the small portions and deafening noise levels. Believe them.
This is the third time I’ve eaten here and we really like it. However, it would be nice to have some bread on the table or a roll. Just a suggestion.
I brought some out of town guests to District Social. The food and service were great and they totally enjoyed themselves.
The service was rushed. It felt like our waiter wanted us to hurry up from the second we sat down.
Food was average at best. I’ve never had a cheese plate with one type of hard cheese in my life.
Overpriced for what you get AND happy hour is only served at the bar.
Food exceeded expectations...waiter was great! Great craft beer options!
It was pretty chill, a little too loud at times but a good evening overall.
Great bar atmosphere up front with quiet place to eat in back. Yummy appetizers to share, creative drinks and good food. Staff attentive!
Great place for cocktails. Courteous and friendly staff. Very nice ambiance however disappointed with the limited menu and taste of food.
Once again a great meal at District Social. I had the hanger steak and of course, the infamous brussel sprouts! The service was wonderful and aside from the loud atmosphere, it was absolutely amazing! I go back again and again and will continue to do so because this is a great meal at a moderate cost. Cannot wait to try Harrison's new place.....District Local opening up downtown!
My department was having a farewell lunch for one of our associates and I had made a request to have a quiet area for 11 people. They gave us a private room which was very much appreciated and provided a very nice ambience.
A good place to meet with Friends. We were 5 and they gave us a very nice cozy booth, it was a little hot but other than that great food and good service.
The food was interesting and good. - but the ambiance was horrible. It was so loud in there, that I had to shout at the person sitting next to me. Also - the service wasn't fantastic - they kept coming around to clear things every 2 minutes, even though we were not finished and then brought us the wrong check....
Great place. The food was excellent as was the service. The only issue was the noise. It got a little noisy when we were there; 6:30-8:30. Nothing terrible but having a conversation was difficult at times. Overall, definitely recommend.
Yummy creative dishes and while we all enjoyed our meals (duck, salmon, cod), the bacon appetizer was tasty but not tender.
Came for dinner on a moment's notice. So impressed with everything! Service, atmosphere, food were amazing! I want to go back as soon as I can.
Fabulous Shakshuka! Great place for lunch not far from Penn Station - a tough area to find good eats. Super nice waitstaff. We'll be back!
Wonderful service, cute spot, restroom on the same floor !!!!!!, nice crowd , fast , allowed us to hang out to chat it was a reunion) for a long time felling comfortable ...
Service was absolutely terrible. Waiter was drinking mimosa while our glasses were empty. We did tipsy drinks and only got served 3 or 4 times within those 90 minutes.
Service was great
Flatbread was more like a giant cracker with stuff on it
Okay RODRIGO our waiter is amazing! Hope I got his name correct cause he is a great and fun person.
I love coming here. The atmosphere is perfect - darkish however you can see your delicious food. And the FOOD is always cooked well and delicious!
This was my first time to experience their brunch and SO glad we did. We shared 2 dishes and I gotta say their “eggs Sardou” is just wonderful!!!
If you love artichokes this is your dish. Artichoke hearts serve as the vehicle to serve up a nicely baked egg with tomato and goat cheese.
I can’t wait to go back and enjoy that again.
Overall it’s a top notch restaurant/bar. Close to Penn and the Garden and sadly this area lacks food places.
This is a fab place.
Thank you District Social. Always a pleasure to see you :)
The drinks were excellent and the food was amazing. I woke up the next day wanting to go back again. I had the Branzino which was cooked to perfection. The All-Inclusive cocktail is a hit and the Pear Moscow Mule is refreshing and potent...in the right way of course.
If you are going out to a bar this is a perfect setting. We could not talk to each other without screaming across the table. Completely ridiculous noise level! Otherwise the meal was very good.
Really great food and unique drink selection. Wait staff extremely professional.
Bridesmaids post dress shopping lunch. Everything was great. They surprised us a bottle of bubbly for a toast on the house!!!
All around amazing service and food. Was quite impressed.
Had a great meal and cocktails here- everything we ordered was excellent and our server was funny and helpful.
Picked this restaurant at random based on the fact that they took reservations - and it turned out to be a great restaurant - the food was really good and we all enjoyed ourselves :-)
Great place !!! Charcuterie tray was amazing!!! Ceviche was to die for as was the lamb. Our server was perfect and quick as we were going to a show. Would definitely go back. A little loud maybe but not bad at all!
Great place for Dinner and Drinks. OK (not great) Bourbon selection, but I am from KY and if you don't have 50+ on the shelf then you are just OK! :) This is our second visit to District Social, and YES, we will be back!
A great place to meet up near Penn Station. Food, cocktails, and service were all good.
