Caffè Macaroni continues to be one of San Francisco’s very best & most authentic Italian restaurants. Extensive menu, great food, very friendly staff, and a classic North Beach setting. You can spend a lot more to eat “upscale” pseudo-Italian food at places like Aquerello or Sorella. At the latter, the manager will tell you that you need to leave after an hour or so to make way for the next round of guests. Never mind that you’re being charged a small fortune for the brief time you’re there. Head to Caffe Macaroni!

I celebrated my birthday here on Apr 19th and had a really great time. My wife and I like trying different Michelin guide restaurants, and Nisei ranks at the top. We also got to meet Chef David and Chef Haley. Truly a memorable experience. Will go back again!

Fun late-night date night spot. Delicious wok fried dishes and aesthetics that read contemporary nostalgia. Highly recommend any wok-fried shellfish and the shaved ice.

Russian Hill
About the restaurant
Frascati is a Mediterranean style bistro, located in one of San Francisco’s most desirable neighborhoods – Russian Hill. When a guest walks through the door of Frascati, he or she is initially treated to a friendly and comfortable dining room. Frascati encompasses a truly European aura, but is also a cozy, San Francisco neighborhood bistro. This tri-level restaurant features warm colors, high ceilings, antique light fixtures and street views of cable cars clanging up and down Hyde Street. The natural light and energetic atmosphere all convey a lively spirit.

Our cuisine is inspired from the Mediterranean coast and has strong Californian influences. The menu shifts frequently to utilize the best and freshest ingredients any season has to offer. Also, we pride ourselves on all of our house made desserts and ice creams.

Of equal importance, Frascati has become known for having an eclectic wine list which nicely complements the food.

Had to come back, before we left town! This time, the three of use had Gnocchi, shrimp pasta & burrata with a great bottle of nebbiolo, recommended by our server. Dessert, for the three pigs, was a pint of expresso chocolate chip & the chocolate bread pudding… EVERYTHING was excellent again! John & Rebecca are great hosts, have a caring, friendly staff & great atmosphere. Always a dinner stop when we come to town.
