Restaurant claimed they didn’t have my booking and were totally disorganised (bookings were written on a scrap of paper in an order booklet so very unprofessional). They also took 25 minutes to finally tell us they didn’t have a table for another 30 minutes so an hour after our original booking. Will not be going back there.
No social distancing, no check in, food took ages
Good good food, the ribs were awesome, the guacamole was good. Service prompt and very friendly. I couldn’t complain about the service or food, we were slightly unfortunate to experience a very angry customer and his very angry attitude.
That should not take off from the food or service, this place is a really good meal, and really good service - highly reccomended
Absolute shambles, booked for 19:45 and amended to 20:00 to arrive and be told to queue up. Because of this eat out scheme they were fully booked from walk ins. When asked why they couldn’t inform me as they had my details through booking they replied they didn’t check their bookings all day. Never had such a terrible experience before and staff was quite rude. I hope they realise when this scheme is done they may not be as full as they expect with terrible attitudes.
There were no COVID measures in place, tables were very closed both indoors and outdoors. We sat outdoors but around 10 people were queueing by our table throughout our dinner. Tables were also not cleaned and cutlery wasn’t packaged at all. Most waiters were not wearing face coverings or face shields.
We use this restaurant a lot and have not had really had a problem before, however when we went this time we waited about twenty minutes just to order a drink then another twenty to order the food. Once ordered the food came very quick but was dry and just not very good in general. The restaurant was packed and nowhere near enough stuff, they were running back and forth to the kitchen. The music was very loud and we couldn’t even have a conversation. All in all not a very good experience. Don’t think we will be going back for a good while.
The customer service I experienced as the first customer and only customer in the restaurant was terrible. The food was okay at best. The portion size was good. The drinks were okay.
Great fun and atmosphere- good meal and cocktails. Was very busy. But good service
Mmmm. About as Mexican as I am - a Londoner. Squid rings were from frozen and overdone. Salsa and Guacamole looked as if it came from a catering supplier. My sizzling beef didn’t sizzle. My wife’s prawn dish was heavily limed. Pitcher of margarita didn’t taste of much alcohol and was made from a ready mix very sweet. Had to wait for everything- the bill took 15 minutes. My advice is find somewhere else.
Good, fun atmosphere. The t-bone steak was good, but the vegetables in the veggy fajita were overcooked.
It was the best Mexican food i tasted in London, the staff were amazing. Food was delicious and the atmosphere was great for any event. Food was reasonably priced. I loved it and this is coming from someone who hates Mexican food.
The staff were not attentive, there was happy hour before 7pm, but the staff are reluctant to take anymore drinks order just before 7pm. Remember to check your bill! They didn’t give us any happy hour price for the drinks, we have to ask them change for twice to get it right!!
Great food. Reasonably priced. Service was a little slow but overall great place.
I have been visiting this restaurant for some time over the last 10 odd years however its quality, value for money and the overall experience has been slipping. I found the food rather bland this time and portion sizes a lot smaller. The ambience is very nice and the Staff are very friendly and provide pretty good service. It's just the food quality; it used to be really good authentic Mexican food however it's not the same any more.
Incredible steak, good service, restaurant is well themed, makes for a pleasant meal with mates.
Great food, great choice, great atmosphere. If you want Mexican and you have the choice of Desperados or Wahaca next door, go Desperados 100%. Advise to book if you’re going at the weekend.
I and my husband went here to try authentic Mexican food in London. We were impressed with the many vegetarian options in their menu, a rarity in London.
We ordered nachos with salsa on the side, burrito and chimichanga. Their portion size is great! We absolutely loved the nachos, they were crisp and delicious. Their guacamole and sour cream were fresh and delightful. I was disappointed with my burrito but my husband enjoyed his chimichanga.
Their ambience was very lively and comforting. The place is well lit and has excellent Spanish music playing.
Our server was very polite and courteous.
Overall, a nice decent place to hangout with your friends/famiky if you wish to try authentic Mexican food. 3.5/5
Extensive menu - very good food
Lively “party’ atmosphere - friendly staff - quick service .
Great food and a good price. However, very disappointed that they would not accept my open table gift card although they accept MasterCard. Bit frustrating considering we only booked this restaurant because it was on Open Table and we wanted to use my gift card...
Freshly cooked food clean tables and fantastic ambience, really recommend this place, it’s so lively and service is great
The place is very nicely decorated, great spot to have a drink before clubbing. Food leaves a lot to be desired.
It was my second visit. It’s a good atmosphere and beautiful restaurant.
Amazing food and friendly staff.
You can enjoy a good meal with good cocktail and reasonable prices.
I had a great night thought my chicken burger was dry but cocktails were delicious
I wasn’t impressed with this place at all. The menu had everything you’d expect from a Mexican but the dishes were very basic and poor in my opinion. I went for fajitas, quality of the meat wasn’t the best and in hindsight many better local places to choose from.
Good fun for a large group. Not exactly authentic Mexican but it is authentic fun!
Desperado's was great fun, lively atmosphere, delicious cocktails and food to die for.
Decoration of restaurant is quirky
Toilet art is a talking point
Only downside was it was chilly & blowy every time the main door was opened & our napkins flew off our laps
Warm friendly service, good food and vibey atmosphere
Food ok. We ordered from the lunch menu so the portions weren’t large. If you a person who eats a lot you might not find the starter and main enough. Drinks alcoholic and non are well, well overpriced which is disappointing. Sorry. £2.40 for a can of coke is nearing extortion. Food is tasty though.
Very nice staff and great food. The place is quirky and great to meet up with friends. Only negative is I thought the drinks were not that good or interesting...
Great place. Consistently good and a fun atmosphere.
Good food but the music is too loud you can barely hear the person in front of you
The food was good and also the environment, just didn’t like that they put us in a smaller table for 11 people when they had the all upper floor empty. But the sirvthat was serving us was really nice and pattience.
Don’t recomend the sangria, is really bad. But in another hand the margaritas are amazing!
Good food, nice service and great music. I wish there was a dancefloor!
The open table booking didn’t get through to the system so we hadn’t wait 20mins in an overcrowded back restaurant for a table to become free. We got drinks and pir main arrived, the food was mediocre at best. The staff were friendly and as efficient as they could be given how understaffed they were for the volume of clients.
Just a meal for my birthday. The food tasted amazing and the value for money was great. The portions were great and they had plenty of cocktails to choose from. The food came out within 10 minutes of us ordering which was great because we were very hungry and we definitely made that vocal(lol). Only downside was that our table was positioned right near the stairs and the bar so it was very busy with people walking past. I will definitely come back again.
Very happy with service from all the staff
And great food and cocktails
Our first meal at a Mexican restaurant and the food was fantastic, the staff were friendly and there was plenty of food to choose from and at a reasonable price. We will definitely go back next time we're in London.
This is A amazing restaurant, this is honestly the best Mexican food I have Had in London. The staff are so nice, quick and friendly! They go out of their way to make you feel special. The food menu has a lot of choice to pick from so there is something for everyone, the cocktails and bottled beers are so tasty and strong. I highly recommend this restaurant for the staff, lotion, ambience and food An great cocktails. Thank you
Food is very average, portions are fine. There's a rather noisy music in the background and you need two literally climb for the bathroom.
Pretty average experience.
Fantastic as per! Happy hour is great and again the nachos are to die for!
