Culpepper Steak House
greens, tomatoes, candied pecans & honey lemon vinaigrette
It looks really nice and has a very nice ambiance to go with it. Very nice for couples on date night.
The service was ok. My waiter was nice, but he was absent alot and I had to flag him down to get service most of the time.
The steak for 2 was more than enough for me and my wife. We asked for medium but it was more medium well.
Overall I feel like I overpaid for the experience as a whole. Nice restaurant, but probably not going back
This was my second time dining at Culpepper Steak House after living in Rockwall for 18 months. The first time was over a year ago and my impressions both times are the same. This is a nice, quiet restaurant with upscale decor, but I feel it's way overpriced. Both times I ordered the 7 oz. Filet Mignon and it was just okay. Honestly, I get a much better cut of Filet Mignon from Costco and it's better tasting at home, seasoned and cooked up on my grill. I ordered it medium rare but it was pretty rare. Can't remember what side I had the first time but this time I had the Wild Rice Pilaf and I didn't care for it. At $39, I felt this plate was overpriced by at least $10. The waitress was great - attentive and very pleasant. Except when she acted like we go there all the time and said she remembers waiting on us before - that was a bit bizarre. If the entrees came with a dinner salad I would feel the plate price was a better value. On the plus side, I liked the white table cloths and cloth napkins - this is the type of restaurant that can offer a more intimate and romantic dining experience for couples.
We went on a weeknight during the pandemic. There was only one other couple that we could see. The service was slow (wait for water and menus, long wait for food), but we sat and talked, so we were in no hurry. Beautiful restaurant and excellent food for reasonable prices for high quality. The background music was distracting, but they turned it down for us.
Overall one of our better nights out. I hope they survive.
App stated you are open and confirmed our rez so we drove 45 minutes to find out you were closed
Great food, great service as always. Precautions taken during these unusual times.
I will be back. Nice staff, food was great, atmosphere was better than advertised. They rock!
Great food glad they’re back open!
Friendly staff. Great atmosphere
Were appropriately abiding social distancing
I don’t know why more people don’t rediscover this place
The service and food were outstanding. The server was extremely friendly.
It was a great experience from the valet to the food drink and service! All around great place for a date night!
The food and service were great. Our table was not level. One leg was not even with the others.
Exceeded expectations. Swordfish amazing, best I’ve ever had.
We’ll be back!
I cant believe we don't go here more often. They have the best steaks in the area. Service is the best around.
Kendra was a great waitress for us. We celebrated as a family our sons birthday. We were very pleased.
Food was delicious and creative to make it different.
Fried lobster was wonderful Steak was cooked to order
Food was delicious, had calamari, petite filet with chicken fried lobster......steak was full of flavor and super tender. Calamari was perfect and the chili sauce was amazing lobster was very good.
Excellent service and the food was wonderful. It was a great experience from the valet to dessert!
Our post-Valentine's Day Dinner at Culpepper Steak House was wonderful. Jamie was the best.
The food and service were excellent, as usual. We did find it annoying that, with a $78 per person prix fixe menu, we were informed that “bread service was suspended for the evening.” Such actions cheapen the overall experience.
That being said, I enjoyed the 16 ounce cowboy ribeye, and my wife loved her fried lobster/petite filet combo.
Really nice ambiance for Valentines Day dinner. Food was excellent, service was great and they even gave me a flower at the end of the meal.
Valentine’s Day was nice
Food was ok but not memorable. I have had better at Saltgrass. Service was good but dining experience noisy for Valentine Day.
Venue is beautiful, service was good. Food was truly horrible. I'm sorry to say so, but you need to hire a new chef. My wife and I both had the fillets. The stakes I could at home are a thousand times better than what was served -- meat was blackened and tasted like it was cooked on a dirty grill, and meat quality was lousy. Asparagus was chewy vs tender. The sauce used for the main dish was also terrible and left a bad taste in my mouth and stomach the rest of the night, I think too much pepper or something like that. The salad has lousy lettuce that tasted bad and seemed like it came from an old bag from Walmart. I have almost never written a poor review before but the food was truly that bad. I paid for it and did not raise a fuss about it at dinner, but was hoping you would ask for my feedback. I will NOT be going back to Culpeppers. I would rather eat at McDonald's or Taco Bell than go back. Except for dessert, the meal was truly horrible and given how much I paid for it the experience nearly ruined Valentine's Day. Extremely disappointed.
Exceptional service. Food was pretty good crab cake was exceptional!
Joaquin/manager was amazing! He helped us pull off a surprise for our 16 year old!!
Food & service was fabulous!
Not only was the Service(s), food, ambiance excellent, but the Entertainment for the evening was Outstanding!! Thank you for providing live music on weekends. It's such a joy to be served such wonderful food and then, put icing on the cake by such good musicians; such ambiance you cannot find in most places today.
Doug was great and service was wonderful. Our food was just what we ordered and very Good!
My wife's prime rib was the best she has ever had and the service and ambiance was 1st class. my filet however was not as good as i had hoped it was not very tender
Our favorite place
The only good service was from the bus-lady. The water lady spilled water and broke a glass. It took time to fix and one would think we would have stellar service afterwards - we did not. We waited 50 minutes for drinks. Never got another water. The waiter seemed to care less.
Super disappointed as we enjoy the food. Not sure we will be back.
No manager ever came by or could be seen.
Great svc. Food wasn’t bad.
Party of 8, parents 50th Anniversary, brought our own cake which the kitchen held for
Us and provided plates and knives to enjoy.
The food and service was outstanding!
We had the shrimp and grits. The grits was good but the shrimp was too spicy. The overall experience was good.
Our 4th visit. Fantastic food! Fantastic Service! We'll be back.
Food was great. It took about 15 min before we where great by the waitress for our drink order but she was great after that.
We love Culpeppers. It always make for a great romantic evening out with my wife.
