Food was just good. It was not OMG!
We had an amazing experience! The service was great, suggested many special items, ended up being great choices. I had the Maine lobster tail, and it was perfect, and huge. The wife had the petite and tail, steak was melt in your mouth. The sauces that came with hers were great accompaniments. Wiithe selection was very nice. Everything was timed perfectly. We finally have found our fine dining place. We'll be back for sure!!!
Dinner was great
Good food, Mario was an excellent waiter. Great place for our anniversary.
Performed well during the Covid pandemic. I will return.
Most of our food was great! However, my steak was very over cooked and salad was limp and missing the dressing.
Wonderful food, service and ambience. The calamari steak appetizer was fantastic!
Party of 4: two steak plates overcooked and two were okay, scallions burnt. Service was really bad for a quiet Wednesday. This isn't the Culpepper's we remember and will not be returning.
Dinner was excellent.Very quite so we could talk. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and answered all our questions.
We went to Culpepper’s for New Year’s Eve. It was one of the worst meals I’ve ever had in my life. I sent it back uneaten. I made my reservation in October. I had the worst table in the house. It was small and right in front of the restrooms. OK whatever. They screwed up my drink I sent it back. On the rocks means that I want ice it it. Somehow that got lost in the translation I guess. It came back good. I asked for bread. They said they were not serving bread on New Year’s Eve. WTF? All the tables that were around us were getting served before us and arrived after us. But that was no big deal either, I wasn’t about to rush on New Year’s Eve. Anyway, my steak was horrible. It was so well done it was dry and hard. My husband ordered the tomahawk steak, which was a $28 surcharge on top of the $75 per person charge, and his was over done as well. They did not serve vegetables. The first thing the waitress said when we sat down was that there was absolutely no substitutions on the menu. OK, I could even handle that. the salad I had turned out to be pretty good. It was downhill from there. Ended up not being charged but that’s not the point. Don’t know if I will ever go back there.
Excellent service and Food! The live band was loud, attributed to the noise rating.
Selective menu on NYE. Oysters Rockefeller were cold. NY strip was tough. Service and ambiance was fabulous
Atmosphere was casual but nice, finely dressed waiters, highly fashioned food, especially the appetizers, it also very cowboy forward decor. There was a live band and they were loud but not too loud, just two guitars and a bass food was very good, the only drawback was the prime rib wasn’t the best I’d ever had, the rest was all very good.
Great New Year’s Eve menu. Very good service. We had diner with the band playing soft rock and country. We will definitely be back.
Excellent food and service. New Year’s Eve set menu was pricier than their usual prices and higher than nicer restaurants in the area.
New Years Eve
Great service, exceptional food and a nice atmosphere.
We have been visiting Culpepper Steak House for at least the past 30 years. They haven’t been in business this long because they have bad service. This place has always been first class, and remains to do so today. Never disappointed!
New Years eve
We celebrated our anniversary at Culpepper's at a time when we were unsure how safe we would feel dining inside a restaurant. We felt completely safe here! The food was cooked exactly as we requested and was hot and delicious. Our wait staff was excellent - very attentive to our requests and needs. We highly recommend Culpepper's.
Food and service was excellent. Fried lobster tail is amazing
1st time visit. The feel and look was excellent for a steakhouse. We set next to the fire place which made the setting even better. The drinks and appetizers were excellent. The reviews about the French onion soup were spot on. It is to die for. The main course is where things went from great to average. We had the porterhouse w/ creme corn and lobster mac. Not bad but for an 80 dollar steak I have higher expectations. Also neither side was impressive. The service and desert were excellent hence I gave 4 stars causing im hoping it was just an off night for the chef. It was a monday😁. The menu was an excellent as well. It did enough where we will give it a 2nd chance but the 2nd visit will determine if I would actually recommend to anyone.
Great food. Grilled bacon appetizer is fantastic. Steaks were very good. Service was great.
Great wine and whiskey selection. Very good ambiance, attentive wait staff and great steaks made the way we requested them to be. Four different and delectable alcoholically tempered coffees for dessert. A bit pricey, without a doubt, but well worth it for the experience.
The New York strip was a little too crisp around the edges
What a find and was a wonderful experience...The incredible food and atmosphere was only surpassed by the gracious staff. Lance R. Rockwall Texas
I hate to write this because our first time eating here was excellent! Our last experience, not so much...the steak was fatty and severely undercooked, the waiter was not attentive, the lettuce on my salad was browning, and my salad dressing was watery. Plus, we had to wait 5 mins for the host to see/greet us. She walked over then immediately took a phone order. Then we waited another 15 mins past our reservation to be seated in a very NON-busy restaurant. We expressed our disappointment and The manager did come out and agree the steak was not up to standards. He did discount the steak by 50% and gave us a free dessert. He was very polite, for this reason we will try eating here again. Hoping this was just a bad day for the restaurant.
The best part of our meal was the French onion soup. I highly recommend this soup.
The first time my husband and I have been there. It did not disappoint. Food and service were wonderful.
It was an excellent experience. We had dinner at Culpepper for my husbands birthday and the food, service was fantastic. This was the best steak (34 oz Porterhouse) my husband had ever eaten. It was tender and the flavor was just amazing. It still sizzled on the iron skillet when it was brought to our table. Most of the steak had to be taken home with us since it was huge. We also had Angus Filet Mignon and it was amazing as well. The flavor was outstanding. This was my husbands first time at Culpepper and he is already planning the next trip there. The staff was very friendly and courteous. We live about an hour away but will definitely make this trip again. It was totally worth it. My husband even got a birthday creme brulee with a candle, fruit and a cookie. We will definitely be back for another amazing dinner.
Staff was great and accommodating as I requested a special table. Service and food were great as usual!
Awesome service! Great food
As Awesome as it was 25 years ago the last time I at there!
A gem in the rough. I would never have guessed that a former barbeque restaurant would have been so significantly updated. The menu, the food, and the service would stand up to the best in Dallas, with less pretentiousness and a lower price.
Ask for the wine list. While not as deep as many more expensive steak houses, it has an impressive lineup.
It was a wonderful experience! We were celebrating our 21st anniversary and they treated us like royalty. Gave us a free dessert and the waiter and the manager took our pics. Will be taking the whole family back, very soon!!
I thought the main course (sea bass) was bland. Don’t mind paying when the food is good but I was very disappointed.
My wife and I went to Culpepper's Steakhouse for our anniversary. We were very pleased with everything and will definitely be coming back. The food was delicious, the waitress was very good, and the price was reasonable for the level of service and cuisine. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant.
Food was delicious and loved the live music. I think the host forgot to seat us. We had 7:30 reservations and don’t sit until 8. Others arriving after us were seated before us. Service was also a little slow. Still enjoyed it!
Nice booth seating for the four of us to celebrate a birthday. Excellent service. Perfectly cooked steak and lobster. Tasty drinks.
Wonderful outing during the pandemic- felt safe. Delicious food as usual. Server was so personable & efficient.
