This was our first time at Tamarind, and I must say, it was a marvelous dining experience. The restaurant is on two levels, one upstairs, elegant and relatively quiet, and the other downstairs, with the open kitchen at the rear and several naan oven stations to the side. We are upstairs but in the future would choose the lower level….it has more energy. Service was friendly, non-intrusive, and perfect. We had the halibut curry and the duck breast vindaloo, both exquisite, and the dal, with rice and naan. Spice level was enough to make your taste buds awaken but not enough to make your tongue on fire….again perfect. Dinner was topped off by mango sorbet and ginger tea. Dinner for two with a cocktail for one and a glass of wine for the other. Dinner came to £172 with taxes and gratuity. This has become one of our favorite restaurants for in entire Indian cuisine on the first go. We will definitely return.

Gorgeous, intimate lunch experience to highlight the greatness of Darjeeling Express and invite a dear friend from NYC to join. We started with chai and puchkas on a drizzly London afternoon, along with dal, prawn malaikari, and raita. Thank you to Asma's team of women who prepared this gorgeous meal. We will return!!
