- RRickySan Diego •2 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoAwesome, swanky in a great San Diego Vibe. Food was excellent, flavors were very robust to remember to make you want to come back. We had some Appetizers, Lamb Chops, Kinilaw, one of my Daughters BF selected the Pigs ears, oddly enough was a hit. The others were great as well, loved the spice/jalapeno in the Kinilaw and the Lamb Chops, if you're an old school rack of Lamb, worth a try. We also ordered drinks, I had an A5 Old Fashioned, great, smooth, and enjoyable. Wife had the manila Midnight :). The Dinner was for her retirement Milestone, very apropos. Then we had the Pork Tomahawk Tocino and the Seabass with Potatoes, Cabbage and Wagyu rice. Pork was very succulent and flavorful, with the Seabass maintaining that moist delicate flavor. With the sides, outstanding. Finished with the Corn ice cream and a Tiramisu like Dessert, knocked it out of the park. The service of the whole team, and you'll know what I mean when you experience this level. By far the whole package, very, very worth it. We've eaten at some places in Del mar, La Jolla, Coronado, great, but, Animae, is a few notches above. That's not a knock on other restaurants, but how the team, will take old plates, replate and new utensils, amongst all the drink refresh and services, set a different benchmark.More infoAnimae$$$$• Contemporary Asian• Downtown•4.8

- CCaitlynSan Diego •2 reviews5.0Dined 6 days agoMy husband and I made a reservation for our 10 year anniversary. Fortunate Son did not disappoint. The ambiance is so cool and special. The beers were delicious and different than the normal SD menus. The food was so delicious, it was hard to put the chopsticks down. We ordered shrimp fried rice, beef lo mein, and orange chicken. All of the plates were incredible, but I have to highlight the shrimp fried rice. It was so garlicky and delicious, but best of all, was how the shrimp was cooked. It had a crisp to it without being overcooked. Totally recommend Fortunate Son for a spectacular meal and experience.More infoFortunate Son$$$$• Chinese• North Park•4.7
