Very disappointed in the bread. I usually eat at Lebanese restaurants and the bread at this restaurant was hard and not tasty. I had the vegetarian Mussaka and I did not like it at all. Too greasy and spicy. Fellow diners who had the lamb chops and the salmon were pleased with their meals.
We dine relatively frequently at Istanbul Grill. The ambience is simple but dominated by a beautiful full wall photograph of Istanbul around the Bosporus. The Turkish food is first rate including kebabs but also including a variety of stews and other dishes, mains and mezzes, that are not found at other similar restaurants.
The food was excellent. We had the Kofte and the Lamb shish. Both were cooked well, presented well, and included a large side of rice and salad.
The wait staff kept the water glasses full and were attentive without being overly attentive. However, the appetizer did not come until after the main dishes. The purpose of the 20% service charge was unclear, so we were unsure whether and what to tip. Better communication could resolve the few issues we encountered.
