First of all, our expectations for a restaurant basically on Times Square were fairly low, but the menu looked good and we wanted to be able to get to our show on time. We were BLOWN AWAY. The food was absolutely amazing- absolutely get yourself the scallops with Osetra caviar, it was one of the best bites of food I've ever had. The avocado and truffle crispy rice cakes were absolutely brilliant- most places that serve truffle never balance the truffle and you just get truffle flavor- this included a light citrus miso sauce that made the truffle absolutely sing. Literally all of the food was delicious, but the highlight was the Wagyu prepared tableside. Until the waitstaff heard me tell my friend that I thought she'd like the Wagyu better than a cake with a candle in it and correctly understood that we were there to celebrate her birthday...so after we paid our tab, THEY CAME OUT WITH ICE CREAM AND A CANDLE FOR HER. Completely unprompted. Also, it was the BEST ice cream I've ever tasted. The service was stellar, the drinks were delicious, and the food was top notch. I will be going back and trying the rest of that menu. THANK you to all of the staff on May 23 for such impeccable service. You made us feel so welcome and the experience was just amazing.

Love the beef curry with rice. I ate up the whole bowl.! Mongo sticky rice, Golden Uni sashimi and Seafood tapas are yummy too. Beef was overcooked.

Kawabun sited in individual building on a resident block , Lovely place with quiet ambience and warm setting, food and services are good, wish the wagyu dishes can be less sauces so can enjoy the beef more.

Great food! Call ahead to see if any events taking place. Was forced to eat in the back room (not so great acoustics) because of an event that rented out their whole main dining room

I recently dined at Katsuya Japanese Restaurant in NYC, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was inviting and stylish, perfectly setting the stage for an exquisite meal. The highlight of our evening was the exceptional customer service provided by Agostina Muro. Agostina went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was perfect. Her warm welcome and attentive nature made us feel like valued guests. She provided excellent recommendations from the menu, and each dish was a culinary masterpiece, bursting with authentic flavors and beautifully presented. The sushi was incredibly fresh, and the hot dishes were cooked to perfection. The attention to detail in both the food and service was truly impressive. Agostina's professionalism and friendly demeanor enhanced our visit, making it an evening to remember. If you're looking for an outstanding Japanese dining experience in NYC, Katsuya is the place to go. Be sure to ask for Agostina Muro for a truly exceptional experience. We can't wait to return!
