Overall very good. Service was friendly and fine. Prices were reasonable. The vanilla cheesecake was excellent. While my turkey dinner (think Thanksgiving), my wife’s fish was under seasoned and a bit dry, holding it back from a 5 rating.
Expensive for the quality of food. Chicken was extremely dry and bland for the sandwich. Small portion for entrees. Wife ordered salmon.
Our server Jon made a delicious meal a memory! He was attentive, good humored, played along with our silliness. Thanks, Jon!
The chicken was un-seasoned, so a bit disappointing.
Great food great drinks plenty of space very clean
Our server was awesome. The entire staff is always so pleasent and nice.
The BBQ pork sandwich and pot pie was delicious.
The only negative is the carpet. We've been going to Cock n Bull for about 30 years looks like the carpet hasn't changed. It needs a good cleaning at least. Otherwise we love CocknBull !
I felt the food was just okay and the service could have been better
We went at a later time in the evening so was probably quieter than usual. I got the Tuscan linguine which was just ok. However the table also got a chicken sandwich and the roadhouse burger and those were very good. We also got the Cajun honey boneless wings which to me were the highlight. Service was excellent prices were comparable to any other restaurant in a tourist attraction. We would definitely go back.
Our waitress was terrific. The hostess was very attentive. The drinks were veeery tasty. The food was very good.
I was quite disappointed at my trip this time. We were seated in a dark corner (party of 2) let the party of 2 right after us was seated at a bright window view (at a table for 4). The “hot roast beef on a roll” was cold, salty and cheese barely melted. Our server was lovely; but all else was totally disappointing. Will probably eat elsewhere next time.
Thank you for your review. I’ve spoken with our host team to improve seating. I’m so glad that you enjoyed the server and sincerely hope that you’ll consider coming back. Kindly, Matt Bender
We went for Easter brunch and it was pretty bad. Food was ok. We had one of the last seatings and the workers were so over it. We felt rushed and we left. It was $50 a person and we had 1 plate because we were rushed. So disappointed. We usually like cock and bull so this was a huge disappointment.
Good food good, well organized set up and great service.
We enjoyed an excellent dining experience at Cock 'n Bull in Peddler's Village (Lahaska, PA). The Easter Buffet offered a wide array of delicious entrees and desserts. The wait staff and service was exceptional as well!
Many thanks John. We are glad that it was such a beautiful day. Hope to have you back soon. Sincerely, Matt Bender
A wonderful COVID Easter Brunch! Our server, Myles, was top notch and very helpful, friendly. Tables were well-spaced and they had plenty of staff on hand to plate your food at the buffet line. One member of our party has a gluten sensitivity and all of the hot food had allergy information clearly labeled which was great. One of the servers also brought her over a special gluten-free dessert plate (which quite honestly looked better than the buffet offerings!!).
Food was pretty good - no complaints. Chicken and waffle station was the best!!!
Great atmosphere; delicious food; great for weddings, graduations, birthdays, retirements or a romantic meal for 2! You must go!
Hasn't been there in years. I had fish and chips and they tasted like frozen fish I get in the supermarket. My wife had chicken pot pie. Very salty and the vegetables looked like they came from a bag.
The beet salad and onion soup were delicious. My meatloaf was charred and tasteless and the mashed potatoes were not even sufficiently warm.
The crab cakes were mushy and the dirty rice was tasteless. The chocolate mouse cake was over refrigerated and bland. Although the service was good I will not return. The food was very disappointing.
Dan, thank you for your detailed review. I’ve spoken with our culinary team regarding these notes. I’m sorry that you won’t return, but we will keep improving and I hope that you’ll reconsider down the road. Sincerely, Matt Bender
Basically Covid took the edge off with few tables spaced far apart and nicer table amenities removed. The room seemed somewhat cold. The service and food, however was top notch. I’d go again (after Covid restrictions).
Food was very good. Service was great! Wish the stores stayed open past 7:00 on a Saturday night.
Jennie, thank you for your review. Good news, the village store hours are extended: M-Th. 10-6pm; Fri Sun. 11-6pm. Hope to have you back soon. Sincerely, Matt Bender
Food took over a hour to be served, steaks cooked incorrectly. Food was just ok, would not dine there again. Our server was nice but overall we didn’t have a good experience.
Hi Crystal, thank you for your review. I’m terribly sorry to hear about your experience and wish that we could make it up to you. Please don’t hesitate to message me directly. Sincerely, Matt Bender
Been going for years. Great place. Waiting for the Sunday brunch to start again.
We had a great time at the Cock n Bull. Despite our late reservation time, our waitress was extremely kind and accommodating. Food was delicious and pricing was very affordable!
My wife and I enjoyed a light dinner after a day of shopping. Having my iced tea never be empty was a plus.
Great lunch with friends. Ambiance is excellent and food superb. A must stop when in the area.
Thank you Robert! Sincerely, Matt Bender
Very good turkey dinner!! Great service.
It has changed since the last time I had been there. A little disappointed. Salmon cakes were cold.
Jean was our waitress and she was delightful. Food very good.
Great service and food - recommended to visit any time you are in the area...
Went for St. Patrick’s Day lunch and they were out of the corned beef which was disappointing. Pot pie was ok but I’ve had better. My girlfriend didn’t care for the grilled chicken sandwich.
Cocktail I had was very good. Waitress was very attentive and the place has a good vibe overall.
Nice restaurant an great setting with window tables overlooking Peddler's Village shops.
The restaurant was empty due to off-season, midweek and COVID. Nonetheless, we were greeted warmly and were served a great meal. Our waitress, Grace was terrific.
Outstanding food! Loved the shrimp and grits appetizer. Got the burgundy beef and chicken pot pie. Would have loved more vegetables in the pot pie, but the taste of both were fantastic! Server was Phentom (I'm sorry if I spelt his name wrong) and he was fantastic as well! Thanks for a great anniversary dinner!
The food was amazing. the Chicken pot pie is a must to have!
DELICIOUS !
When I first moved to the area I was told how great the Cock and Bull was and it was true. It’s tough to rate restaurants because of Covid but here goes. We were delighted that the menu had expanded since we were last there. We ordered drinks and the waitress came back to tell us that they no longer have Absolute vodka. I asked what the Samuel Adam’s seasonal beer was and was told they now only have “regular “ Samuel Adam’s even though Seasonal is on the menu. I ordered a “wedge” salad but was later told they no longer served it. My wife ordered the turkey dinner and said the stuffing tasted like “stove top” stuffing. We were only given 1 fork and 1 knife so we I finished my salad and the entree was served I had to ask for a fork. We felt rushed and from start to finish our meal lasted 45 minutes. Not exactly what we expected. Didn’t understand the rush as there wasn’t a line of people waiting to be seated. Definitely a disappointment dining experience.
Thank you for your detailed review. I do apologize for the menu changes. We have definitely limited some choices. Partially to provide our staff a better chance to know their products, but also to improve quality. We removed the Wedge in January, but we do plan to have it back soon. I like your note about separate salad and entrée silverware, the pandemic pushed us into the less formal rollups, but I'll remind our staff to replace silverware after courses. Thank you again. Sincerely, Matt
It was great! Delicious
My family and I enjoyed our lunch very much - we were not close to any other table and it was a great family meal with my husband and son! Donna was our waitress and she was outstanding!
Thank you Donna, that’s so great to hear. We’ve passed your compliments to Donna. Hope to have you back soon. Sincerely, Matt Bender
Good food, but I didn't get what I had ordered for my dinner and realized the same had happened with my dessert that I had gotten to go.
My boyfriend and I went to Cock n Bull got an early dinner. We were seated right away at a really nice spot by the window where we could look out at Peddler’s Village. I started out with wine and my boyfriend got a beer. We got shrimp and grits as an appetizer which was pretty good. Not your typical shrimp and grits though. It was shrimp with like a corn cake underneath. Still was decent. Once we finished our drinks we hadn’t seen our server for awhile after so our glasses sat empty. My boyfriend ordered fish and chips and I got the short rib in a bread bowl. It was just ok. The meat was over cooked. We got the apple pie dessert which was delicious. Probably would not come back. It was good to try once.
Smaller menu due to Covid but everything was delicious!!!
