Clyde's of Reston
Clyde's at Reston Town Center has mahogany and leather, antique model planes, boats and equestrian artifacts. Outdoor dining next to the Pavilion April thru October. American-style saloon menu.
**Every night we offer a Late Night menu until 1:30 am!**
Two large table supposedly ordered before us so it took an hour from the time we sat down until the time we got our food which was quite frustrating. The waitress was very apologetic and gave us a discount but we wish we had known that before we sat down or before we ordered. We were hungry and did not want to eat more bread and ruin our appetites for what we ordered. Her service was good but the delay in food was out of her hands.
Everything was great love the idea of bringing my own cake and wine
We've been to Clydes in Reston on numerous occasions and with a large group and have always enjoyed the experience. But this time was different. We had a group of 12 family members, including two toddlers. We had a 5:45 reservation on a Saturday evening, well before the restaurant became busy.
We ordered the kids' meals before ordering appetizers so they would be occupied, and these were brought to the table promptly. Everything went well until we finished our appetizers. We had a bit of a wait and then the steak knives were set, so I assumed that our entrees would be brought out soon. The waiter then went persona non grata.
About fifteen minutes later, I went to the servers station to inquire about our meals, and was promised that they'd be checked on. Ten minutes later, a manager came over and talked to a member of our party. I got up to tell him that we had waited over 25 minutes since the steak knives were set, with no explanation for the very long wait. The manager said something to the effect that I was keeping him from going to the kitchen to check. I was boiling at this point, not because of our long wait so much as having no explanation and not seeing our waiter for a half-hour.
A bit later, several entrees arrived, including mine. At least five minutes after that, the remaining entrees arrived. My entree was cold when we all started eating. My daughter had to take the toddlers home at that point because it was nearly 8:00.
The waiter was very apologetic and attentive after that, but the meal was ruined for me. I was very embarrassed in front of my family because of the slow service.
The waiter comped us the appetizers, which I appreciated, but it was a shame that our experience was not up to Clydes usual standards. I understand that mistakes can be made in ordering and in the kitchen, especially with a large group, so an explanation was in order. Letting us "hang out to dry" like that is inexcusable.
Went for a birthday very nice. Was seated quick with the app.
Accomodating staff. Surprised that several items couldn’t be adjusted but the waiter suggested a great alternative.
Took server 10 minutes to initially come to our table, we ordered drinks and 30 minutes still had not received drinks. We left and ate another restaurant across the street. Additionally extremely noisy.
I love this restaurant. The food is fresh and the menu changes often. Very nice place.
I now remember why I haven't been here in years. The service was HORRID. Our server checked on us ONCE in 42 minutes. Yes, I timed him. At that point, it had taken 15 minutes to get our drinks - we had to pull a manager over and he got them for us. I'm pretty sure the server forgot to put our app in, because it arrived right before our meal (after we had asked where it was...) The noise level was out of control. The table next to us complained about it multiple times before they finally turned it down. The manager should have come by more than once after we specifically told him the issues with the server. The table across from us also complained. Food was decent - but all was overshadowed by the bad service.
Of course the server was super fast to grab the check when we left - obviously his only motivation. But I know he was very disappointed.
Clyde's needs to focus on customer service training... after our horrible experience I was sharing it with friends and heard many similar stories. You have a great location - take advantage of it and make your customers happy!
My family and I enjoyed a very pleasant brunch at Clyde’s in Reston. Food and service were very good. One of our party ordered the chicken salad sandwich and was mildly disappointed in the flavor. He felt it was a little bland. We were there about 1:30 on a Saturday...it was quiet. We were able to have wonderful conversation without shouting. Overall, it was a great dining experience.
I am a frequent diner here and feel this Clyde's location has the best food of all of them. My Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad was great. The person dining with me enjoyed their sandwich as well...service always good.
Wait staff is excellent, food really good, and great location in Reston Town Center.
Good food, good friendly service. Nice for get togethers with friends. Unhurried.
always great food and good service! Since Reston charges for parking- they need valet parking...
Very good in general.
The server was most helpful. Only thing less good, common to most restaurants in the US, is the tendency to start taking the plates before every person in the table have finished their meals. Looks like they are pushing the people away. A meal is not just FOOD. It's a moment to socialize! Annoying!!
One of our meals was the beef ribs and it was not good and it never should have been served.
The waitress was going to bring me some soup to taste and that never happened.
To be honest their were not enough waiters/waitresses working the outdoor tables. The manager
took the beef ribs off of the bill.
May think about returning. It was my sister's birthday and we were never offered the desert
menu so we went somewhere else for it.
Food was fantastic and the ambiance romantic but a little a noisy. But my friends and I had wonderful time!
excellent service, very good food. nice dinner with granddaughter who is leaving for college in 2 weeks.
Sadly this restaurant has really lost it. Authenticity, service, and good quality continue to disappoint.
We loved eating outside and the food was delicious. Our waitress, Abigail Head was outstanding!
The last several times I've visited Clyde's (Reston), the service has been really off. Very slow, doesn't seem to be enough servers for peak time and this last time, we never got our appetizer, drinks refilled quickly. Server was nice guy and compensated us with discount but did not make dining experience enjoyable.
Biggest problem was that the food did not really meet expectations. For the prices charged, one would expect high quality and big flavors, but overall the tastes just weren't there. The corned beef hash was notably bland and mushy. The breakfast burrito was ok, but not very flavorful either. The benedict was mediocre- not terrible, but not worth the high menu price. Overall, we left with a general "meh" feeling. We were fed some food, but did not derive a great deal of pleasure from the experience. The decor is nice, but inedible.
I requested seating outside only to find out while you can reserve table you cant ask for outside seating also? Have no idea why this should make any difference and its really irritating
It took a REALLY long time to get our food, like almost an hr.
Clyde’s chilli rocks! My go to dish when I dine at Clyde’s.
Clyde’s has Great food and great atmosphere!! No complaints to speak of, just a little pricey.
Pre Birthday Celebration. Everything was great. The Service, Food, Atmosphere and Price. Will definitely go back. We had the crabcake and Barbecue Rib Meal. NICE PLACE.
We have dined at Clyde's Reston several times for a business lunch and the services is ALWAYS very, very SLOW even if it is NOT busy. We have decided that we will avoid this restaurant during business lunches.
Food and service were wonderful! Great variety on the dinner menu.
Noise level was far too loud to hold a normal conversation.
A great place to rest, eat, take in the beauty of the restaurant on a wet rainy day, or any day for that matter. Had a good time!
I have to hand it to Clyde’s for maintaining their quality over all these years. The menu choices are always on trend and reasonably priced. I had the soft shell crab entree which could not have been more tasty.
I was able to have a meeting with a business associate and we sat outside so it was easy to hold a conversation.
The outdoor ambiance was great. Our waitress was slow to come back and didn’t explain any special, offer appetizer or dessert or coffee. The “lump” crab cake was not lump so a I was very disappointed.
It was great overall and the service was good. We got the potatoes and crab artichoke dip apps, which were excellent. The only thing I have to complain about was that my burger was extremely bland.
Great! Only complaint is that I wish they had more vegetarian options. Otherwise, my veggie burger was really good. Usually I don’t eat the bun but this one was so delicious I had to!
Great Service Reston parking is a show stopper for travelers
A tradition after leaving Nationals Park. Split a yummy blt sandwich and salad. Always relaxing and a wonderful menu. Katie our server suggested the BLT
It was just ok
I came here for dinner with coworkers and there spouses. It was a perfect evening and we had a 1 year old with us too the servers were prompt and friendly. A good time was had by all.
Love the patio to break bread with friends. We had a wonderful meal.
Erika, our server, was outstanding. Efficient, helpful and cheerful.
Great restaurant. I am never disappointed with Clydes. The only suggestion I will make is when a reservation is made, one should be able to have a table outside without there being a one hour wait
