Clyde's at Mark Center
Waited 30 minutes to receive a glass of wine ordered, 45 minutes for food. Server never checked back to see if we needed anything. Another long wait to get the check. Service has declined greatly in recent weeks.
Great Service, food and prices.
There wasn't anything special about this restaurant. The gentleman that greeted us and the woman who sat us were nice enough but our server didn't check back to see if we needed refills and a couple of our meals were overdone. Seemed pricey for what it was.
Our waitress was simply fantastic !!
6 stars on scale from 1-5 !
Great food and fun atmosphere. Took our friends from Europe here for dinner and they thoroughly enjoyed it.
Clyde's Mark Center is one of our absolute go-to's for a great dinner out, and to entertain friends. The food is always reliably great. Friendly, attentive staff. The seasonal menu changes are creative and well executed. Also love that you can have a conversation while dining and actually hear what your dining companions are saying.
Clyde's Mark Center had been our "go to" place for years, but it just became our "don't go to" place. The menu has been reduced, probably because they don't have the necessary chef expertise to handle the traditionally wonderful menu. Our salads which were supposed to be served with filet mignon prepared medium were presented with some other kind of cheaper steak that was well done and overcooked. I was trying to introduce my fiance to a special dinner, but we both sent our salads back and she ended up substituting a bland turkey sandwich for her salad. Even the bread served before our meals was virtually inedible because either it or the flavored butter was loaded with salt! It was an overall disappointing experience, and it unfortunately has eliminated Clyde's Mark Center from our special places to dine. I always hate to give places a bad review, but this disastrous experience generated a much-deserved condemning review.
Beverage service was very slow. Server missed bringing one drink on order. Food service was slower than usual, but the food was good, It appeared to be a busy evening, perhaps that was a reason for quality of service not up to expected standards.
Great place! Always good food & service! Easy rez opportunities
Still hungry after an appetizer and main course. Main soft shell crab was too small and was served with a thimble size of starch.
We had visit Clyde's on Mother's day. Nice atmosphere. Great food. Excellent service. Very pleased. Will definitely come back.
Food was fabulous. The new chef is making a real difference in the quality and creativity of the god. Can Mark Center bring back its black bean burger, so much better than the standard Clyde’s lentil version.
I would recommend a friend to Clyde's at Mark Center for their lunch or dinner menus, but the Mother's Day Bruch menu was terrible. Not one item ordered from the Blue Crab biscuits, coffee cake, Chesapeake Bennie, or the most expensive item on the menu (scallops) was tasty. Who created/executed this menu? My family of four didn't enjoy one item. The combinations of ingredients did not work well together. Not one of our dishes was good. We will never spend money on a Clyde's brunch menu. The overall comment was "I never have to have that again."
Were there for Mothers Day. Service was very good and food was good. Really like their menu. Very varied and very good value
Table area was very dark due to some electrical issue. We were offered to move, but we declined after we were settled. No seating should have taken place in that area, IMO.
Matt was our server and he was really attentive. We got 3 orders of steak and eggs and there was very little steak and potatoes, and it took a long time. We also ordered a caesar salad with shrimp and it was good. Food had nice flavor. Not a memorable experience and not worth trying again.
Excellent food and service as always. We always enjoy the Ship Room and look forward to our next visit.
Great Mother’s Day brunch! Lovely ambiance and good service. Mom was happy!
Fresh ingredients, great staff! We had an oyster platter and the cheese sampler for appetizers. Definitely a must. Our waiter, Evan, was super friendly and cleverly dealt with our antics.
Re.: Service: I would have liked to get the extra lemon we asked for.
Clyde's never disappoints - lovely ambiance, service and food. Best of all, it's quiet enough to converse with your dining companions!
My son’s 41st birthday
My brother and I had dinner with our mother who lives nearby. It was packed; probably conference attendees from the Hilton? Quite noisy but we survived! Food and wine was very good!
I wish you didn't put arugula with the steak frites.....prefer mixed greens; arugula doesn't agree with me!
Food was good, good quantity, just the right amount; noise level in the ‘sailboat’ room was good, easy to talk
Clyde's was great and welcoming as always. The only reason I gave fewer stars for service is that it was very slow even to get water on arrival, and we did have to wait 20 minutes past our reservation time for a table--but this was understandable as a large concert next door had just let out and the restaurant was packed with concert goers. In all, Clyde's always does a great job even when they're very very busy.
Food was well-prepared and very tasty, but portion size was quite small. And service was not attentive. We asked for drink refills and they took about 10 minutes. We've dined there several times before, and these were changes form previous times.
Wide selection of food choices to include brunch, their regular lunch and an oyster menu - we had 2 pm reservations. Service was excellent. Food was, as usual, very good. My friend and I will be back!
The Newport room ambiance is always great. Courteous staff.
Love their liver! Best in the DMV! Good martinis, too!
Menu has changed and they now have less of a selection.
We waited forever for our cocktails. The waiter relayed our drink order properly to the bartender who had questions. The manager intervened and placed our order and eventually delivered our cocktails - STILL Wrong. We waited another 20 minutes for our entrees. Fortunately we were not in a rush and enjoy one another's company. It will be awhile before we visit again.
Our server was knowledgeable and helpful. The overall service was slow but, the food was delicious and met our strict diet requirement.
The liver lunch was excellent! Our wait staff, "Annmarie J" was outstanding. Only issue I had was that a family with very young, children were seated just across form us as we were eating. Very noisy and disruptive.
This restaurant is a little gem tucked away in our own backyard! Even enjoy the lovely waterscape filled with beautiful Koi fish...so serene. Highly recommend, great for large parties or even table for one.
Food is always good at Clydes except on holidays. Don't know if kitchen staff, chef, is overwhelmed by number of orders.
Ate at Chevy Chase Thanksgivi g, Turkey was so dried out, I couldn't eat it, Tower Oaks Thanksgiving past year..had crab cake that had no taste, Easter, Apr 22, 2019..ham was so salty I couldn't eat more than a few bites, collard greens were so hot & spicy..also couldn't eat.
I've eaten at Clydes Tower Oaks & Chevy Chase many times & it was always good but I'll never go again on a holiday. I had 10 People with me this last Easter.
Generally everything at Clyde's is very good, but not so on Sunday. The waiter ignored us many times, not filling our water or ice tea glasses ,we finally got a pitcher of water so we could refill. After not seeing him for 30 minutes we got another waiter to give us our check. The meals were also delivered at different times so people had to eat before others were served
Easter holiday with out of town family.
For a Easter menu... thought it was poor
Clyde’s is a tradition in our family for birthdays Mother’s Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter: you name it, we love Clyde’s. The food, the service, all of it is just excellent !
As always our favorite place to dine for Easter we appreciate the staff and waiters.
