City Fish Market
We will never go here again. Although we were early for our reservation, we were made to wait while the restaurant was filled with empty tables. It was so loud that when I checked the decibel level with an app on my phone it far exceeded 90 decibels. Finally being seated we were led to the worst table in the place and had to request a different location. Our server was disinterested in doing his job. He had no one teaming up with him and while we don’t like to be rushed, we certainly like our food and beverages in a timely manner. They cannot make a drink in this restaurant. I have been drinking tanqueray and tonic over 40 years and I know when I have been given bottom shelf liquor. I sent it back and requested a cosmo. That was watery and tasteless. Their version of clams casino are unevenly broiled clams sprinkled with bacon and no other seasoning or breadcrumbs. Great if you like tasteless half raw clams. My husband’s “3 pound” lobster was enough to feed an eight year old. The server brought my husband a complimentary dessert for his birthday but it took 20 minutes before he appeared again to bring him a fork.
If you have a hearing disability of any kind this is a place to avoid. My tinnitus is roaring after going to City Fish. If you want to spend an average of $100 per person for very mediocre food with slow service then maybe it’s for you. UPDATE: I got violently ill within a few hours of leaving this restaurant. I have never been this sick from a restaurant ever before.
The services was excellent. The room we eventually sat in was quieter but freezing. The food was delicious but expensive.
My 70th birthday was celebrated at the City Fish Market, the dinner was excellent and the restaurant gave me a beautiful complimentary dessert.
Food was good , but service was terrible. It took an hour to get our food.
The service was outstanding. We sat outdoors which added to the feel of privacy, and ambience. I ordered the Pepper crusted swordfish. Although the fish itself was done to perfection, I didn’t like the combination of the strong taste of pepper with it. Our server was fast to suggest he gets me amp other one. I told him I ordered this , it’s my fault, and not their responsibility. He insisted on getting me a whole new order for free. I couldn’t expect any better service then this. Actually, I’ve never experience such extraordinary service. Both mine and my husbands fish were cooked to perfection. Just right - not too rare and not dry, and very tasty.
We were a party of 4 all food came out warm. Food is average at best
Went there on a Sunday evening. The food was very good and the service was excellent. Very much enjoyed City Fish Market.
We always love this restaurant. Service is excellent and the food is always wonderful and served on very hot plates which I love. The seafood is outstanding.
Food was superb!Excellent fresh tiny scallops and Chilean sea bass-wine choice excellent-service quite good!
But so loud that dinner is not enjoyable!
City Fish Market tends to be noisy, which is why I prefer an early reservation. It's also easier to get a nice table with a water view in what I call the "gazebo" section.
During the previous visit we waited for our table at the bar and had some spectacular cocktails.
The staff is well-trained and always on-point. This restaurant consistently delivers. I'm looking forward to the prix fixe menu that is typically offered in season (Jan-Mar in Florida).
need table cloths on all tables. Did not know we had to request a table cloth!!
Once again, my husband & I enjoyed a fabulous meal at City Fish! We requested an outdoor table which was quieter & had a more relaxing environment than the lively indoors. Our server was exceptional & checked back with us often to see if we needed anything & were satisfied with our meals. The food was delicious & the server & chef carefully crafted a tasty meal for my husband, who has food allergies, making sure not to give him a bland piece of fish, but prepared with creativity without cross contamination with his allergens. A perfect dining experience all around!
The server was very nice... just missed some service essentials... like cocktail napkin under a manhattan...took my bread plate before I was finished and left my friends....he really was very nice and just not totally polished.... my sole was to well done...CFM salad was excellent... oysters left a bit to be desired... calamari was served on a large plate and not that many calamari...
The food is consistently very good. Whatever I try I always like. The desserts are also very good.
Great fish loved the swordfish Hong Kong style
Been there many times, best seafood in Boca Raton
Always a great meal there and being served by Matt is always a special treat!
The whole evening was great, food service and decor.
First, our waiter was fantastic! My husband asked for no scallops in his seafood casserole. However, it came full of scallops. When the waiter came to take away our dishes at the end of dinner he saw all the scallops left in my husband’s dish. He had the manager come right over to speak to us. He took his meal off the bill and brought us amazing desserts on the house. That is the definition of amazing service!
Great place super value they pay attention to the details
We had not been here in years. It did not disappoint! Excellent service and food.
Excellent meal for out of town guest too noisy inside but patio much better
Very pricey so only for special occasions
We sat outside where there was very little loud noise
Food was excellent as usual
Management was extremely accommodating to our concerns.
It was lovely, only disappointing thing was that my husband was hoping for a shrimp dish of sorts and one was not available that was appealing
The food is always fresh an prepared exactly as ordered. It was delicious. our waiter Matthew Was terrific, friendly, on top of everything.
This is a great place for seafood at reasonable prices.
Great meals, service and value.
Best Seafood in the Boca Area. Professional service. Wonderful, top quality seafood market for Foodie Chefs!
As usual we enjoyed our selves and had a good experience
Gets a little loud at times
Excellent dinner. Had the $44 special. Very good value. Have been there many times and will go back again. One of my favorite restaurants when I come and visit my mother from NY.
Great fish! Great service.
The place to be if you want to wait 30 mins while having a reservation!
No one apologized for the wait!
The room was extremely loud (I guess that can not be avoided)
I ordered the sea bass, I got sick as soon as I got home. ( I mean really sick).
This is a first for me, I dine here a few times per year.
The server was excellent!!!
The food was great the Waitress whose name was Anya is the best waitress I’ve ever had. The problem with the restaurant is the noise level. I had to speak very loud to my dinner companion and she had to speak very loud to me. We even had to ask the waitress to repeat things she was saying because we couldn’t hear and she couldn’t hear us either.
I would definitely go back there maybe during the week but not on a weekend when it was so crowded perhaps then it might be more quiet.
We frequent City Fish Market often. The food is wonderful, the servers are great. However, the noise level is off the charts! It's very difficult to talk with friends and it's hard on the ears, too. We come out with sore throats and ringing ears. It would be great if the restaurant would incorporate sound-absorbing features on the ceiling and walls.
This was an excellent dining experience. Everyone in our party enjoyed the food and service
The best service and fresh fish I had
Fabulous! It was our anniversary and we were treated like royalty!
Wonderful as always
Terrific service and a delicious meal as always! Have never had an issue of any kind over the years!
Best food and service from City Fish Market in years. Great waiter and all the food was served timely. Just happened to be there for a 1/2 bottle special.
