CIRCA at Dupont - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
Great lunch location to meet clientele. Food was very good and the service was excellent. Unfortunately, I believe this location of Circa is closing at the end of the month due to not being able to renew their lease. I would definitely recommend the other Circa location.
A Dupont Circle find! Good varied menu (salads, sandwiches and main dishes) and food is uniformly good. Front desk and servers are very nice, friendly and responsive. I find myself in the area often and sometimes have time considerations. Each time this has occurred the server has cheerfully made this happen without seeming rushed or anything other than obliging.
We had a late dinner at Circa at Dupont. Initially I didn't realize it was a chain, as it didn't have a chain restaurant feel. The food was pretty good. I had the poke tuna nachos which were delicious and a bison burger that I would rate 7/10. The service was decent, but the waitress could have been more knowledgeable about the beer list and ABVs. Also, the restaurant turned on club-type music at what seemed like too early an hour as there were still tables finishing meals pre-bar crowd. Otherwise, it was an overall pleasant experience.
Delightful as I knew it would be, if past is prologue. Love the kale Parmesan, their signature roasted Brussels Sprouts, and their daily soup special. And they make a mean Manhattan (I like their rye version) with seriously good cherries. The wait staff is warm, professional.
We arrived very early for our reservation but were promptly seated. The restaurant was very busy but pleasantly quite for the amount of people. This is a welcome change from so many restaurants these days. We ordered drinks, which came out relatively quickly. We then placed our dinner orders. The first course came out promptly but there was a lot of time until our mains arrived. Our server did apologized in advance of our entrees being served because of the lag time. The table seated next to us were seated much later than us but received their food first.
The plates looked nice, the plate itself was ice cold, not good for keeping your food warm. The food had good taste. I won't say it was outstanding, it was good. My dinner companion felt the same. I had the halibut and she the salmon.
We ordered the fresh baked chocolate chip cookies, they were not fresh baked, they were freshly warmed and were very dry.
Four friends gathered in D.C. to celebrate our 85th year...all have birthdays in 2017! Staying in Dupont Circle area, so looked online and booked Circa. We were very pleased with the ambiance of the restaurant and the food choices. Granddaughter had arranged for champagne for our table...service gracefully handled. Knowing age and occasion, we were given a corner table, so altho restaurant is lively, we could talk and hear each other. Would go again.
Circa is always a good idea. The food is great, I love the new additions to the menu, the ambiance is always nice enough to have a conversation but not stuffy so you can't have a good time. I have never been failed by their service, particularly tonight, as our server was amazing.
Thank you as always!
