About Chop House Leith
Best of British beef, butchered & dry-aged in house and cooked over an open flame charcoal grill. The Chop House Leith has brought an innovative blend of classic British steakhouse and cocktail bar to Constitution Street. The Chop House is an exciting addition to the Shore’s vibrant culinary scene, brought to you by the team behind Monteiths Restaurant, Sygn Bar and The WestRoom. Provenance is at the centre of the Chop House offer and the restaurant uses the finest beef sourced from artisan suppliers across Scotland. The meat is butchered on site and dry aged for up to 90 days to add flavour and increase tenderness. Only then is the beef cooked on an open flame charcoal grill, specially designed to give a subtle smoky flavour. Our fantastic food offering is matched by an extensive wine list from around the world and exceptional cocktail list. Open Mon - Fri for lunch and dinner, Sat & Sun for weekend breakfast, brunch, lunch and Sunday roast!

Chop House Leith Ratings and Reviews
From the moment we walked in to this fantastic establishment we were looked after - from cocktails at the bar to the recommendations on the cuts of meat to the actual food itself the quality of this restaurant shone through. A strong recommendation from me although pay special attention to find this place as our taxi drove straight past the restaurant initially and none of us saw it!
We booked Chop House for our anniversary. We have dined there before & enjoyed it so much that it was an obvious choice.
Our table was ready when we arrived, the lady attending our table was friendly & explained everything to us easily & sounded interested in us. When the food arrived it was perfectly cooked to order, delicious & not a bite was left on our plates.
Would we recommend Chop House? We most certainly would & will & yes we will dine there again for an ordinary night out...very much so!

We made a booking at Chop House after happening to walk past the restaurant, and it was the standout meal of our visit to Edinburgh.
The Leith location had a great, relaxed atmosphere that was still elegant enough for a romantic date. The staff were very friendly, and eager to guide us through the menu and provide helpful information on the dishes.
The cocktail and wine list was interesting, and well thought-out, but the steaks were the star. Between the two of us, we ordered an 800g rib-eye on the bone, with three vegetable sides. The steak was meltingly tender, perfectly cooked and came with a delicious bone-marrow gravy. It was one of the best, if not the best, steak I've ever eaten. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone wanting a really top-quality steak in a nice atmosphere.
This could be a very good restaurant if they did not book to many people at the one time.
We had to wait for our table then we had to wait on the menu then we had to wait on the waitress taken the order.
We finally got our starters after another long wait, then when my steak that I asked for medium rare was served well to medium more brown then pink or red, my lobster was also well done making it very chewy, took steak home for my dog.
Myself my husband and our two daughters aged 14 and 15 dined at the Chop House on Saturday night, we we welcomed very warmly and shown to our table. Waiter was great at getting our drinks and taking our order. We all had the fillet steak which we all agree was probably one of the best we've ever had! We were all stuffed so no room for pudding but the menu did look fab! I also had an amazing cocktail! Over all well worth a visit we will defiantly be back! 10 out if 10
My husband and I had been at The Chop House for lunch which was lovely. My son decided he wished his 21st Birthday meal there with the family on our recommendation. Food was excellent and service was first class. He was not disappointed and will definitely be back.
We celebrated my Daughters 21st Birthday here and both the food and service were excellent! Steaks were tasty and cooked to perfection and there was an excellent choice of side dishes. Our waitress was superb and the service very unobtrusive - although always on hand if required. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone 😊
After getting recommended from a friend i thought i would go here for my 40th birthday. The place was nice inside and the staff were pleasant. After waiting about an hour the fillet steaks were not cooked very well at all as both steak were overcooked so they were very dry. The manager apologised and stated we would not have to pay for the steaks. The side of onion rings were nice and the side of mac and cheese was very tasty. The dessert was little donughts and marshmallows with caramel sauce. The marshmallows were nice but the donughts were very dry and felt like they had been baked a couple of days before. Overall we were very dissappointd with our first experience here. The place has the potential to be very good but unfortunately on this occasion it was very poor. Its all about the steak but it was a massive dissappointment. Dont think i will be back ☹️
