About Chop House Leith
Edinburgh, EH6 6AW
Best of British beef, butchered & dry-aged in house and cooked over an open flame charcoal grill. The Chop House Leith has brought an innovative blend of classic British steakhouse and cocktail bar to Constitution Street. The Chop House is an exciting addition to the Shore’s vibrant culinary scene, brought to you by the team behind Monteiths Restaurant, Sygn Bar and The WestRoom. Provenance is at the centre of the Chop House offer and the restaurant uses the finest beef sourced from artisan suppliers across Scotland. The meat is butchered on site and dry aged for up to 90 days to add flavour and increase tenderness. Only then is the beef cooked on an open flame charcoal grill, specially designed to give a subtle smoky flavour. Our fantastic food offering is matched by an extensive wine list from around the world and exceptional cocktail list. Chop House Leith Ratings and Reviews

I was really looking forward Chop House after hearing such good reviews, however, we were semi-disappointed with our meal. I would firstly like to say the service was excellent- the waitress was friendly and extremely attentive. The restaurant was also lovely- great atmosphere and quirky setting.
I had the crispy squid to start with which was nice, however, my partner and I had burgers for our mains which we found to be extremely dry. We then had the brownie for dessert which again was very dry and overcooked. Overall, not quite what we expected: overpriced for what we received.

Went for the £25 Wednesday deal with my girlfriend. It was absolutely brilliant. Steaks were massive and beautifully cooked to order. Sides were amazing as well.
Staff were happy, attentive and helpful.
Really can't fault the place! 5*

A fantastic dining experience at the Chop House. The service was brilliant, with staff being knowledgable, considerate and talkative - you actually felt valued as a customer. Do not let the expense of the food put you off of your meal, the steaks were cooked to perfection and the sides that went alongside the main meal were of a good size and extremely tasty. The whole experience was of a fantastic quality. My partner and I are already planning our return trip to edinburgh with this restaurant in mind to visit again!

Great menu with a lot of options. Good quality food and incredibly knowledgable staff. The steak I ordered was cooked just how I wanted it, also good value for money. Overall had a really nice meal, will definitely be going back!

Excellent steak and very knowledgable and helpful staff who are really behind the brand and know how they are different to other steak houses. Have obviously tried the food and know all about it which is great. Little noisy for me but good atmosphere for a night out and a gem in Leith. Barman knows his stuff as well and was kind enough to let us try a few different reds - brilliant!

Once again a great meal was had by all. Wonderful steaks, cooked to perfection. Lovely service. Delicious desserts! My only gripe is that, because the restaurant is so popular, it is very noisy for us deaf old gits, however, that will not stop us returning!

Visited with my husband and father. We were all impressed with the servers and how great their attention to detail was with everything from the knowledge about the food and wine to the care and attention to when to check on our evening was going well but without interrupting our evening too many times . Heated seats were a quirky bonus too. And overall the food was cooked to perfection

Visited Chop House for a belated xmas night out with my hubby.
The wine list is quite long with something for everyone. The helpful staff said they could recommend a bottle if we couldn't decide.
Food wise we went for squid, tempura prawns and scallop with bread and bone marrow butter to start. You can order the prawns and scallops singly, as many or as few as you like. Then the sharing surf and turf which is chateaubriand steak, lobster and chips, we added some seasame slaw too. Everything was cooked to perfection, so tasty I was still dreaming of it the next day.

Been a huge advocate of Chop House both Leith and Market St for a while now. Myself and my partner have dined here a few times. I was sad to see the poor level of service on my last visit. Very rushed and no courtesy taken to ensure at least a mildly pleasant experience. Food always good but I appreciate the whole experience. A moody waitress spoils this for me. I spent a good amount of money for my partners birthday and expect a certain level of service. Flat Moet champagne, not taking coats when I clearly said yes to her initial offering (all very rushed and rude), no small talk and just sticking the bill infront of my face without any word. Restaurant was not even busy. I now would think twice before returning. Don't take your partner here if you are looking for a romantic dining environment.

Relaxed atmosphere, knowledgeable friendly staff. Great deal of care and attention obviously goes in to both the food and drinks menu. Cocktails are phenomenal too! Outstanding value for money all round and the quality is fabulous. Will definitely be back for more.

My second visit to the Chop House. Our first was in The Arches location which was lovely and no complaints. My second was to the leith restaurant. Our table was 15 minutes late to be seated, despite the table being ready the whole time. Possibly a ploy to get us to drink a cocktail? We enjoyed a lovely meal however as soon as our mains were cleared we were asked to move to the bar again as they needed our table... we had only been seated an hour and 15 minutes and we had prebooked our table with no notice that they would need it back. Not ideal and we all felt rushed along. Improvement of the service needed.

Staff & food where brilliant I asked for a few alterations to menu and was duly obliged. Food portion was large so took some out with us .no chateaubriand on menu.but porterhouse made up for that ideal able to park outside of restaurant too which is a bonus in Edinburgh was recommended &did not dissappoint
