Wonderful safe service on the eve of Lockdown. Many thanks!
Good old fashioned pub with varied menu. Good staff.
Felt comfortable & safe due to well implemented Covid safeguards.
The waitress was efficient but not over friendly.
The food unfortunately failed to impress & for what we received I would say it is over priced.
Nice place but food not the best. Fish cakes as a main were made from a lot of potato and not a lot of fish. Very dry as lacking in any sauce. Disappointed and seemed very overpriced for the quality.
Excellent meal, pleasant evening, good service. Had to stand outside waiting to sign the Covid register longer than we expected but otherwise all was good. Pity we’re now into lockdown again!
Such a lovely atmosphere and great food ! Second time we’ve been and staff always so lovely and accommodating
Help diners decide where to eat. Remember to keep it short, simple and specific.
A last minute decision - well as last minute as can be done under the COVID restrictions - and a lovely evening (as I expected).
We love coming to the Chaser - excellent food and service and we felt very safe with their social distancing measures. This is one of the best places to eat in the area!
A family Sunday roast at the Chaser to celebrate my son’s 27th birthday. We were seated in the restaurant right next to an open fire on a dreary day. Wonderful. We had beef, chicken and multi meat roast lunch with a selection of winter vegetables. Lively chatter and banter accompanied by spirits and a glass of Merlot. Friendly and attentive staff made a very enjoyable afternoon.
Excellent food and service would highly recommend
We were a party of 3 and we all enjoyed our meal very much.
Staff all very polite, friendly and helpful.
All service and staff were so lovely until towards the end when it was obvious this member of staff wanted us to leave. We had finished dessert and hadn't seen eachother in months and a new waitress that hadn't served us yet came over, leant right over me and my friend to grab menus, napkins and glasses in a rushed frantic manner and said "anything else ladies?" But I feel it was not a sincere question as my other friend wanted another drink but it was obvious that would not be an option with this staff member and we were made to feel very uncomfortable. Otherwise, previous staff members lovely and attentive, not rude at all. Food was great.
Delicious food, lovely atmosphere. Unfortunately service was very slow
We came here for breakfast with our toddler. The staff are very helpful & friendly & the food was tasty. Great location too.
Great service, pleasant and helpful staff, able to bring our dog in the courtyard area. Food was also all very good and good choice.
Excellent pub with very good food and pleasant but efficient service. highly recommended.
Felt really safe. Attentive and timely staff. Friendly. It is a lovely place with open views. Character internal design. And we were seated close to the open fire. Just what was needed on a cool day
Been a regular here for many years. Was always consistently good. So disappointed. The food wasn’t good. The main or dessert. Very expensive too. Prices have gone up. Won’t be back anytime soon. Such a shame.
Can be quite pricey, but a lovely place to go for a family lunch. Fantastic atmosphere and you’re always guaranteed a very warm welcome! Since we found it, we keep going back because we just love it there, plus the surroundings are gorgeous so it’s a lovely drive out, too.
We chose a 'Tapas' meal, from the nibbles and starters. Excellent.
It was very well organised in the context of the pandemic.
Yet managed to create a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere
Lovely food and excellent service. Always a friendly and warm atmosphere.
As Vegans we love The Chaser as it has a good menu choice for us.
We feel safe with the measures they have put in for Covid-19.
Highly recommend
Lovely food / only complaint was that soup was cold
Good food, friendly helpful staff. Felt safe. Roaring log fire. Good choice on the menu for food and drinks.
Very friendly, delicious deserts and great if you have a dog
Had a lovely Sunday lunch at The Chaser. Food was excellent. They handled social distancing very well and I look forward to the next time I go
Have been a number of times on of my favourite pubs
Food on this trip was very good service was a little slow but under the current circumstances fully understandable
Had a lovely Sunday road in a great setting
Food was excellent, try to get a table in the main pub building - the covered roof bit has less atmosphere. Service was fab as well.
Had a wonderful lunch here during hike on Greensand Way. Beautiful pub, excellent choices with lots of veg/vegan options and lovely staff. Highly recommended
Lovely hot food but so much of it we didn't get to the desserts. Prompt service and we felt safe from covid.
Very well organised to ensure covid safety. Service attentive and speedy. Food very good
A good breakfast, very tasty. Looking forward to the next one.
This was the second time we visited recently. The staff were first rate and great care was taken to make us feel safe. However the room where we were seated was very noisy indeed (I had requested another room) and conversation was difficult. The food took ages to arrive although it was good, but did not merit its high price. The menu is limited but with some good options including vegan. The wine list is grossly overpriced and the one example of red bordeaux was very poor and cost almost £30, I expect one could buy that low quality of wine for around £5 in a supermarket, personally I would be ashamed to offer something as poor as that.
I would visit again but not on a Saturday night which was simply too busy.
The reason I marked certain areas down was because my partner's meal which was supposed to be Sausage Chips and Peas (no gravy) was delivered as Sausage and Mash with gravy, plus peas. We had asked to make sure that what was served was in line with my partners food intolerances. Gravy is generally a problem! Unfortunately by the time we received our food there was not really time to re-order my partners meal, so she went ahead and ate it. The result two hours later was not good.
I would recommend The Chaser to others, this was just an unfortunate instance, but orders taken should be followed if possible.
Unfortunately had to wait 1.5 hours for our food to arrive with no explanation
Great best ever in 30 years visiting the Chaser - Pork Belly
Good menu range. The Fish was excellent and the desserts are delicious. COVID-19 arrangements are well planned and effective. Our meal was let down by the salad which looked quite tired and brown edged. Staff were happy to replace but that too wasn’t very appetising. Otherwise the overall meal was good enough for lunch.
Lovely breakfast as always
