While we are dog friendly, we do not allow dogs in certain areas of the restaurant. Please indicate whether you are bringing along your dog, and we will be happy to assign you a seat in a dog friendly area.
*PLEASE NOTE* Only tables in the restaurant can be booked online, tables in the garden are allocated on a first come, first serve basis.
Chic brownies not fresh, some confusion about omelettes, but nice evening out in lovely decor. Tables too close together... we got trapped and couldn’t easily move to chat to each other. Next door table v grumpy as the couldn’t get out to go to loo either. Drinks spilled by waiters luckily over somebodies coat not a person, quite upsetting: provably bd side if poorly arranged space.
It was a birthday celebration for myself with my Fiancé and lovely friend Chris. I had a few years ago had a birthday dinner there on behalf of my Fiancé. I was able to decorate the table and bring a birthday balloon.
The Chaser is one of my favourite places to drink and eat. I love it and the Staff are always so lovely, fun and efficient. Thank you for making my Birthday on the 21st February Fab. I will sure visit again in the summer.
Great setting/decor, staff were attentive.
At nearly £20 for a roast and getting over cooked veg and roast potatoes which had obviously been cooked sometime before didn’t sit well!
Not sure we’ll be rushing back tbh....
We had a nice Sunday Lunch at the Chaser, which I had booked several weeks before.
It happened to be the day Storm Dennis hit, which really shouldn't matter as we were eating indoors. However we were put in the "covered courtyard|" section, with rain dripping through the roof in many areas. I asked if we could move to the table next to ours as it was drier and the waitress said we couldn't as it was booked! What was the difference between my booked table and the other booking I do not know.
I think if you're going to be put in an inferior, chilly semi-outdoors area in February they should warn you. Of course we paid the same as the people in the main restaurant.
The young waitresses were all attentive and the food was a nice roast, although we could have done with more fresh vegetables.
I would go again but not if they couldn't guarantee where we were seated.
Below average tastesless sirloin beef roast beef. Cauliflour cheese was burnt and had no cheese .you can get better tasing roasts for half the price else where. Poor value and sub standard food. Staff didnt seem to care when feedback given. I'll not be visiting again for food.
Always a good experience good food excellent service as usual
Lovely food, excellent service. Nice friendly, Oldie Worldie, pub with good choice on the menu
Great place, staff and food. Would highly recommend.
Had Sunday lunch with my daughter and little dog. Our table was in front of the fire on the day of Storm Ciara so was amazing. We eat here often as the pub always has friendly staff willing to make your meal relaxed and enjoyable. The food is always so good - we had roast beef and fish and chips. The desserts are delicious as well. The Chaser has something for everyone be they young or old. They welcome you and your dog and there are board games to keep the children occupied.
Excellent food, all 3 of us loved every dish. The olives were tasty, the 2 starters (Halloumi bruschetta & potato Rostock) were delicious, I loved my steak burger and my Wife enjoyed her sirloin steak. The deserts (chocolate brownie and chocolate assiette) were also great. In addition we had very friendly service.
Great place. Cosy. Welcoming. Good waitress service. Parking can be tricky when busy. Great food. Top end for pub gastro venue with prices a little high but compensated for by excellent service food and ambiance. Will definitely use again.
Extremely noisy and too busy, waiters unable to handle all the orders. Food was nice but it’s hard to enjoy it when it’s so busy and noisy, dogs are allowed inside and the table next to us brought a dog size of a horse for lunch... It was lying next to my chair which I found extremely distressing and unpleasant as I’m not a dog person and this dog smelled as well... If you don’t mind dogs you might be okay with it. Over all food is nice but wouldn’t go back and wouldn’t recommend to anyone.
Very enjoyable meal for 2, nice and quiet very good food and service.
The staff were fantastic at accommodating my 87 year old mother who is very slow and has dementia by giving us an easily accessible table and one near the fire as mum feels the cold.
Friendly staff great atmosphere fantastic food. Thank you Chaser A+++
We used to love coming here for a roast, but on the past few occasions have felt rushed and the food has been cold. On previous occasions we have sent it back but as it was a birthday meal didn't feel we should. We were asked to order prior to even ordering drinks and the food came in under 10 mins. We will take a break from here for a while.
Booking was easy, staff were friendly and the service was good.
Fries could have been hotter, otherwise all was fine.
Great pub, location, food, staff were very helpful and friendly. Service could have been a bit better, I know they were busy but they should staff accordingly to booking numbers.
Very busy so that time between starter and mains was nearly 50 minutes!
I found my pork belly very sparse and the crackerling hard. I could get better from Marks & Spenser
Good food, good service, cosy with the fire. Would recommend.
Great food and a very nice and helpful service. We had a wonderful evening with friends from Tonbridge. Definitely will come back ob our next trip to Kent
Jutta and Harald from Germany
Came on a sunday afternoon with the dog and enjoyed a lovely meal in the conservatory. Was great to see some slightly healthier options like fish with noodles as well as pub classics.
Extremely busy time, Sunday lunch. Staff worked very hard but our meal covered 3 hours, not a particular problem as it was a family birthday meal. However it would have been beneficial to have dedicated waiter(s) for the tables, this didn’t seem to be the case. Service was very slow although all 11 meals did arrive together which was good. Mixed reaction to the food, some meals better than others. I had cauliflower butternut squash and chickpea curry but only one piece of cauliflower, couple pieces butternut squash so mainly chick peas!,, at no time did anyone come by to reorder drinks so we had to go up to busy bar.
I would probably recommend but not Sunday lunch, much too busy for my liking.
We are regulars and always get excellent food and service. Well done. We'll be back!
Absolutely loved this place, service was so friendly and efficient. The pub is lovely and although the Sunday menu is limited its delicious. We'll definitely be back
Great service and lovely food.
Good overall experience. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Food good and served at the correct times for our function.
Visited the restaurant in between Christmas and New Year. Really busy but service and food very good. The Church room was decorated tastefully with lights which gave a cosy feel.
Thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to the chaser! Was 4 adults and 2 young children. The food wasn't super flashy but was excellent quality and very good value for money.
There is no children's menu as such, they do smaller portions of a number of the main meals. My two were very pleased with their dinner.
We will definitely be returning!
The Chaser is always a lovely place to eat and drink, but the main reason that we drive out of our way to go there is the choice of vegan food on offer, which is always good. I’m on a plant based diet and so the vegan options are perfect for me. My wife loves the fish dishes!
Everything about it is soooooo good !!!
Lovely dinner 4 out of 5 meals excellent disappointing prawn dish
Great food and service as always. Our favourite place
Despite being very busy we didn't have to wait long for our food.
The The Ultimate Christmas Free Range Turkey Burger was amazing but the Higgeldy Piggeldy dessert was to die for.
Go try for yourself, you won't be disappointed :-)
We have been to the Chaser Inn a number of times over the last couple of years and they have always been consistent. The food is of a better than average standard for pub grub and we always have a reasonable level of service. Ideal for a family meal.
This is a well established gastro pub in the gastronomically challenged hinterland to the east of Tonbridge and Sevenoaks. Service friendly and welcoming. Good range of draught beers. Food wholesome and nicely presented. We loved the provenance of the cod for the beer battered special with proper marrowfat mushy peas and twice cooked thick chips. Value for money at £13.95 small and £16.95 large
It’s become traditional for my wife and I to have a lunch at The Chaser before Christmas . Last year we were slightly disappointed but this year after eating locally the evening before The Chaser was in direct contrast . The food was delicious and portions perfect . Wine superb , friendly staff and price reasonable . Two miles down the road , why wouldn’t we return !
We were given our starter 1 minute after sitting down without ordering drinks yet. Turkey dinner was swimming in gravy.
Good service and food despite a busy lunchtime. Many mix the Chaser with a walk to enjoy the surrounding countryside.
