patronizing waiter. no attention to detail. fellow diners were done before my meal came. desert was premade and not interesting. view is great. sushi great. steak over cooked. in many years of dining this was horrific
The food was okay but the views were amazing. Beautiful view.
Always a pleasure to dine at Catch at Hotel Casa Del Mar. you can count on a consistent pleasing dining experience,I.e. great service, excellent food quality and overall lovely environment. We were pleasantly surprised to find added menu items. We did miss the pea soup on the menu or this time of year the pumpkin soup. One of our favorite restaurants that we frequent over and over again. A great wine selection. You can’t go wrong with any of the selections. Hats off to the chef!
What an amazing night. Service and food made the night special.
The fish was undercooked to the point that the middle part was raw. Had an upset stomach from it however that they did make it up by giving us a free dessert. The appetizer was rather expensive for such a small portion. Excellent atmosphere , Good service relatively small portions for the price disappointed with the actual meal itself.
Drinks were terrible and service was slow
Regardless if you’re a guest in the hotel or there for a drink, Casa del Mar is perfect for any occasion, or no occasion at all!! What I mean is; as you find your way up to a comfortable seat in the open lobby, it can easily serve as a relaxing spot to enjoy a cocktail, converse with a friend, conduct an informal business meeting or listen to live music.
We stayed for dinner & loved our meals at “Catch” - the menu has a wide array of choices & we were very happy with our selections.
It’s one of Santa Monica’s treasures! An added bonus is getting there in time to watch the sun set in the west.... ahhh a perfect touch!
So yummy and beautiful sunset to boot.
We couldn't have picked a better place to celebrate my husband's 60th bday! There were 11 of us and the restaurant accommodated our large group by the window. Our server was fabulous! Forgot his name but he's from Spain! He made excellent choices & suggestions for us. The food was beautifully plated and delicious! Can't wait to go back!
Had an incredible dinning experience at catch at Casa Del Mar! Food and service were superb! Would come back when in Santa Monica. You all need to open one in Miami!
Beautiful place, service normal, lobster gummy, price high
Staff got overwhelmed by party that came in with own wine and needed 24 glasses.
There's nothing like watching the sunset whilst eating the best food. And after an incredible meal you can head to the lobby for incredible live music. This is one of the best spots in LA!
Amazing food and amazing service, definitely one of the best restaurant in LA!
The ribeye was most excellent, the waiter when out of his way to make a special salad for me, Leafy greens, tomatoes, diced cucumber,With an Oreo and vinegar dressing most tasty
Beautiful place with ocean views. Amazing food and great service.
We had the best time, only stayed one night but got to enjoy the amazing Catch restaurant and take bikes out on the boardwalk
The branzino was the best I ever had and the sushi was especially fresh and beautifully presented.
It’s not that it was a bad experience - it’s just that it wasn’t a great experience. It’s a really nice hotel and quite frankly, the staff doesn’t match the caliber. The guys who work at the bar next to the restaurant - dress sloppy and look like they are uncomfortable in dress clothes. Like they’d rather be - and would be more comfortable - tending bar in a dive bar. Additionally, the bar tender wanted to hold my credit card in order for me to have drinks - I have experienced this in dive bars - but never at an upscale hotel. Was really disappointing and made the overall experience very uncomfortable.
The food was good not great, and the service was slow and disappointing. The hotel is beautiful with a great view and ambiance though which definitely made up for a few of the issues we experienced.
Excellent restaurant, service was great! A little expensive for the teenagers we were with, mom pays again! We enjoyed our time!
Frank is an amazing chef. My plate was a work of art
Gorgeous setting. Delicious.
Fantastic food and service. Loved the ambiance. Cocktails were especially good as was the grilled calamari appetizer.
Food is excellent, the view spectacular, but service was less than attentive - the only disappointing part of the otherwise excellent experience
We were staying at Casa Del Mar for the first half of our honeymoon, and eating at Catch was the perfect first meal! The food was absolutely spectacular and the view overlooking the ocean was lovely.
I was disappointed with this restaurant overall. This was supposed to be the “top” restaurant in the 5-star Casa Del Mar Hotel. The restaurant decor was subpar and not elegant. Food was not that great and service was subpar as well. The ambience was not of an elegant restaurant and the food was overpriced. The best thing about this restaurant is that it has a beautiful ocean view. Overall, I do not recommend this restaurant.
Celebrated a Bday dinner. Beautiful setting, impressive menu. Both food and service were very, very good.
Too expensive for the quality. I had a $30 glass of wine! 😑
Amazing location on the beach. Lovely decor - simple, clean and elegant. Excellent food and excellent, friendly, and attentive server. Our server recommended the octopus and it was my favorite thing that we had. The sushi was incredibly fresh. The desserts took longer than they should have to come out. Our server acknowledged this fact without us saying anything, and proceeded to comp both. Great overall experience!
Beautiful sunset and location food delicious good portions
Excellent food-would definitely return. Octopus was one of the best we've had. Squid ink pasta with seafood is excellent
We tried for dineLA menu. We love our appetizer ( grilled octopus), but we found the main course, especially the squid ink pasta, to be too salty. Overall, we had a good time.
They made our anniversary celebration very special. Everything was great and I am not prone to say that.
You must go for the view. Catch sits above the foot traffic just south of the Santa Monica Pier. Everything else, food, service . . . is secondary. The food was very tasty. The service was not stellar. Our server forgot all about a bottle of wine and didn't see our glasses needed refilling. But on the plus side, he did bring a taste of two bottles we were considering so that we could make an educated choice. It was a beautiful sunset meal on Santa Monica Beach. I would go back.
As locals this was our first time dining at Catch and during the entire meal we kept asking ourselves- why haven’t we been here before?!? It will now be in our rotation. Catch has a Spanish chef and a sushi chef that has been with the hotel over 15 years. The food will transport you back to Spain, but still is California fresh. The service is impeccable, the cocktails divine and the wine list extensive. Run don’t walk to get a reservation at Catch. If you are a happy hour lover, there are insanely good specials and always live music!
We had oysters on the half shell as app, they were very fresh. But we had to ask for crackers and horseradish sauce. Ha. We sat at a table next to the window so the view was amazing. We had the whole grilled lobster and Chilean sea bass and both were very good. The lobster was a bit on the dry side, but still delicious. The sea bass was very good as well if you like asparagus. Wine was good. Service struggled but still very nice.
Nothing really wrong. Nothing really exciting. View is excellent.
Catch was ver accommodating and all of our waiters food and drink recommendations were spot on Couldn't recommend this restaurant enough.
