It was a quiet dinner. The service was excellent. The food was outstanding. The bartender made a great Manhattan and the wines were top drawer but not expensive. This is a great place to do if you are looking for a quiet and leisurely dinner.
Great people, great food!
Very good traditional Italian food with excellent service.
As always- consistently top notch !!!
Absolutely a wonderful restaurant experience I highly recommend
Amazing swordfish and veal.
Service was great and its all about consistency.
We have been here a dozen times and have always been impressed.
Consistent as always - a wonderful and flavorful meal !!!
I would recommend Castello. It was my first time dining there and was very impressed with food, service. Friends of ours were with us and have frequented the restaurant many times. I think it will become a regular for us as well.
Food was excellent and service was outstanding. Would recommend this place to everyone.
Very attentive and excellent food!
Have lived in Danbury for years but have never tried Castello. After reading all of the positive reviews, we took a chance and finally tried it. We have to say we were very pleasantly surprised. Service was wonderful and the food was great. We will definitely be back.
Food was ok... but for the price I would have expected better. The meatballs tasted like Cosco frozen ... portions were small and the food tasted ok otherwise. Overall not a bad place but not at all what I expected. Costello is an average restaurant with average quality food.
Continues to be consistent. Food was wonderful and service outstanding as always !!!
Constant as always. Everything was delicious from the chicken to the veal.
Just a wonderful spot
Fantastic as always. Beautiful new bar area. Family restaurant and great date night place. Always fresh amazing dinners.
A hidden gem in as Danbury.
Great servIce and good food. Consistent as always.
We cannot say enough - it's just a great spot !!!
Always a great meal with impeccable service. I think this is truly a hidden gem in Danbury. With so many dining establishments a step above fast food, Castello’s is a welcome throw back to fine dining. Without the price or air of pretense. They have the best Caesar salad anywhere (they make it at the table), amazing pasta cooked perfectly, fresh seafood, and delicious desserts. The strawberry flambé is a must. If you are looking for great Italian food with old school, professional service at a reasonable price, this is your place.
It is a pleasant environment and the wait staff are good on keeping up with anything you may need or suggestions. The food is very good as well.
Castello is a great find even though it is over half an hour away. We were 3 boring people as we ordered the Salmon special which was delicious. The Pinot Nour was good and the service was excellent. I would love to go back there
Excellent food and wine selections, with very knowledgeable staff. Great wines by the glass, with some really rare and amazing wines available on request. Everything was delicious, and wait staff very attentive. Will definitely be back.
If you want authentic Italian cuisine then Castello is for you. You can tell the food is prepared with care and is delicious.
The quality of the food was excellent. The service was excellent except they forgot to bring us our side dish. We reminded the waiter who had an order fried up for us..it was for the highly recommended fresh potato chips which were delicious. I would say the portions for the price were a bit small on some of the entrees we had. My husbands portion of the chicken saltimbocca was larger than the others. They had a very small portion of the vegetables that accompanied the entrée. Plate looked a bit empty. But again the food was excellent..
Great experience! Food and service was exemplary! I would recommend highly.
Excellent food and service! We will be back again and again!
Our family enjoyed the entire experience! Great service and delicious food!
Delicious scallop special and, as expected at Castello, wonderfully attentive and friendly service.
Last minute find in Danbury. Service was great, there was a abundance of servers always around. Food was very good, baked clams were on the smaller side though, i think they were manila clams (add more clams if using such small clams). Besides that I would recommend!
Went on a Thursday night so there weren't many diners, so service was quick but all the staff were very attentive. The food was excellent (we had veal) and the prices were reasonable. Diners were all seated in the bar area so the ambiance was lacking but there is a nice dining room that would normally be used on busier nights. We plan on coming again.
Excellent experience. The renovated bar area was a great surprise and had a great atmosphere. We'll definitely be back and will definitely recommend it to others.
This is the most amazing place I have ever eaten at in Danbury. The Staff are incredible the food is amazing and the service is wonderful. You must try this place you won’t be disappointed. We cannot wait to go back.
GREAT SERVICE GREAT FOOD. THANK YOU. We all had a grytime
Food and service was excellent. But they take a little long to bring you your food. But it is worth the wait.
Service was great food was very good drinks were strong would go back again in a heartbeat
Great food, great service! Dinner for four this evening as opposed to our usual five. My kids had a great time and better yet, a great meal. We left fulfilled and comfortable. This place has definitely become a staple for my family when it comes to food.
Always consistently awesome from the food to the wonderful service !!!
We had a very disappointing evening right from the onset. The parking has always been problematic in that location. The Valets were running back and forth across a busy two way street in the cold without reflective clothing on. We had a 7PM reservation and were in the restaurant a bit late waiting for the valet to take our car. We entered a very loud and crowded venue. All four of us were given a ticket to have a complimentary glass of wine from the bar, which seemed like a very nice touch. We did not realize at the time that the glass of wine was probably to keep us busy and patient since we did not get seated at a table until 1 hour and 10 minutes later. We were told several times that it would be just a few more minutes since people continued to occupy the table. When we were finally seated, we were just left sitting there with our empty wine glasses, water and a bread basket. After an extended period of time, I walked up to one of the servers and asked for someone to take our drink and appetizer order. Thank goodness we also gave our meal order at that time. We finally got our meals at 9:45.
Saying you are sorry several times would have been great if they had been attentive when we were finally seated. It was also hard to appreciate the 20% discount since nothing was said when we got our check. We noticed it ourselves at the bottom of the bill.
On a good note, my Chicken Francese was tender and tasty but I still won't go back for seconds.
I do not take giving poor reviews lightly because I believe that these reviews do have an effect on businesses and therefore overly critical reviewers should be ashamed of themselves. Castello's was an awful experience and I would not go back. Truthfully I have to begin questioning the legitimacy of all of the positive reviews. Without the emotion, the dining room was cold temperature wise, dark and sterile but who really cares if the value and food is good; it is not. Castello's main focus is clearly profit margin, not the food or the experience. Several servers hovered around our table which was ridiculously uncomfortable yet with all of that hovering they never asked if all was good..it wasn't. High prices, small cheap portions made with no love, very average food with no salads or pasta's included. $12.00 for a very average drink $32.00 dollars for 5 medium sized scallops and a very small, plain serving of risotto.
Gouge is the word of the day. Additionally there were two women sitting right in front of us passionately complaing to management about all of the very same issues we had; it was ugly. We left with no coffee or desert and again, were never asked if all was well even though we had servers on top of us the entire time. Never again.
