Staff are very accommodating and friendly. The food is authentic New Orleans style. The restaurant is in the historic area of town so is small but it has outside seating so that is good for warm days. Family had the jambalaya, gator bites, shrimp po' boy, and chicken po' boy. All were very tasty. Recommend going during the week for dinner.

Nice atmosphere. Server was not as attentive as needed. Glasses were empty too many times at the table for too long. She was nice, however.

We made reservations and were seated promptly. We were seated inside in the first floor dining room but most diners were on the back patio where there was live music. The live music and the recorded music inside were both great! Our order was taken and our appetizer and drinks were served quickly. It was downhill from there.

After more than an hour of watching what seemed to be the only waitress race back and forth between the upstairs diners and the outside ones, the table next to us complained to a manager who stopped by that they hadn't gotten their food. When we joked that we'd been there longer than they had and hadn't gotten ours either, the manager mumbled something about a problem in the kitchen. The other folks had to cancel their order and leave. I was surprised the manager still charged them for the one appetizer their table shared. Then he said he would check on our meal. When he came back from the kitchen he asked what we ordered, and went back to the kitchen. He was gone just long enough to plate our jambalaya so we wondered if our order had gotten lost.

The food was great but we'll probably just use them for takeout from now on.

We love this place they are always so friendly and the food is great. We went to celebrate my daughter's birthday. She turned 5 and she still chose it out of any place to go. They welcomed us and once again the food was amazing. Best crawfish you can find in NOVA

Food was okay. Only beer is Abita. Portions are giant, enough for two people to share. Ambiance could have been better. Worth trying but will check out other places in Leesburg before going here again.

first and last time .We went because of the band and decide to eat dinner there .Not enough servers for the business they had there so it was spotty. My wife had the red beans and rice .Had it not been that they used a Tasso sausage for heat it would have been bland .No sign of the trinity ,bay leaves, etc. No depth of flavor just red kidney beans and hardly any sauce. It looked old like it had been around all week .I ordered jambalaya and crawfish etouffee. The jambalaya was dry(old?) bland but I did see some peppers. Th etouffee ,well I did find pepper and onions but again not much flavor .the best things they had going for them was the band was good and the beerwas cold .And atleast they got that right and served Abita . We won't go back for the food

Looks can be deceiving. When I first got into the restaurant I thought ok it is really small and not very busy (only 2 tables were occupied) I hope I didn't make a mistake makng reservations here.

Let me say, I am very glad we tried this place out. We got there right before the rush and when the people started coming there were a few turned away because they didn't even have reservations. Needless to say, I'm glad we came early. The service was amazing and the food to die for! I'm not much of a crawfish person but the Crawfish Mac Balls was awesome and the main courses where even better. I give my overall experience for the night an A+!

This is definitely added to my go to restaurants if I'm in the Leesburg area.

Food is awesome in a quaint little place. We were told it's the 2nd oldest house in Leesburg. They carry all the Abita beers as well. The recent blizzard took down the cover over the back patio but on a previous visit there was live music and a great outdoor patio in warm weather. Hopefully it is fixed in the spring!

Party of 4, 1pm Sunday reservation, presumably for brunch. However, that menu wasn't available at all and more than half the items on the regular menu also weren't available. Ok? So drinks...only 3 of the 8 Abita beers on hand? No apologies from the staff, just the nonchalant excuse that they were really busy Friday and Saturday night so they ran out of many things. I guess I'm not sure why they even opened then??? Thank goodness there were barely any other customers 2 days from Mardi Gras. Ultimately, we stayed because we had heard the food was great so we ordered what we could and waited and waited and waited. Unfortunately when our orders did arrive, the food was really only mediocre at best and certainly not worth the price. I think I may have found 3 tiny shrimp and not much else in my bland my seafood gumbo and neither person who ordered the etouffe ate more than a couple of bites- it was gelatinous and tasteless. Don't know about the rest of the missing menu- but these are essentially Cajun standards so it is hard to be optimistic. 3 of the 4 of us had lived in NOLA for several years and were really looking forward to the real deal. We could not have been more disappointed.

Many of the food items we ordered were unavailable which would have been okay if food we did get was good but it was terrible. So unfortunately it was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. The food was not representative of decent Cajun food rather it was mushy, bland and cold. Even the Beignets were terrible they were very dense and raw in the middle. I ordered coffee and they weren't able to provide milk or cream for it. The only pleasant part was our poor waitress who was really sweet and had no control over the issues with the food. Unless you are going for a drink and some music I'd say pass.

Cajun Experience is a regular pilgrimage for us. Summertime dining outdoors with good music, in the colder months, the house is cozy and inviting. Best cajun food in NoVA, hands down. Service is always friendly and on point. Definitely recommend if you're in the mood for a REAL cajun meal, and absolutely worth a bit of a drive if you don't live in Leesburg.

We ate there on a recommendation of a friend. We were seated downstairs where it was too dark because of the colored lights. Our orders were taken promptly and issues with flat soft drinks were resolved. The food was average at best. We've had better Po Boys. The Po Boy had too much bread. Only one appetizer stood out: the crawfish Mac and cheese. The other foods were simply just average. The music was entirely too loud. Moreover, the music was the wrong music given the name of the restaurant. 80's rock music was constantly played; if the restaurant is the Cajun experience, blues and jazz should be played. Ownership should look into Trombone Shorty. I also didn't like that fact that gratuity was automatically added in to the check with no place to lower the tip. Even though we received prompt service, I still got the feeling that we were not wanted there; my family and I did nothing to warrant such. I do not recommend and will not visit again.

While I have provided a great review for this restaurant in the rating section, I wanted to share the only disappointment of the day. The waitress informed us (party of 4) that they do not have craw fish and we wont be able to order craw fish. They were waiting on supplies of crawfish. I did drive 13 miles for the food and I was unhappy with the news.
On the other hand, the food that was available that evening was great. The waitress was extremely polite and attentive. We had a live band and it created an excellent ambience. There was sufficient parking. The mood in the restaurant was upbeat and was getting crowded by the time we were leaving.

First visit and very surprised to find that it has a great vibe in the outdoor patio. Has a live band every Saturday. Food was excellent and the Chef was out and about checking in on everyone. We had a great server, knowledgeable about the food. Kid friendly, will definitely go back with a group of friends.

The food at Cajun Experience is always superb. If you're looking for a quick Cajun meal this isn't the place for you. It takes some time to get you food but it is, in my opinion, well worth the wait. And on the weekends there is usually live music outside on the back patio.

We made a reservation here on OpenTable for my 40th birthday dinner. We got there and were told that they had no reservations and reservations don't come through online for hours (no restaurant I have ever worked has that problem, and if you do, maybe you shouldn't use OpenTable). A blond lady was very rude to us. We were a little in shock at the way we were treated when we were there to give them business. We decided to go to Fireworks instead.

Inside dining is small, outside is under a tent but set up nice. Staff was friendly but a bit unorganized so service was not great. We only had one drink but would have had more and stayed to listen to the music if we had better service. One of my husbands sides was not delivered and we were not even able to ask for it. The food was good - definitely authentic but menu was limited including a weak wine list. They do have the New Orleans drinks down. Might go back but not anytime soon.

The shrimp pie is the best we have ever had, including in New Orleans by a Beard Award nominated chef. The charbroiled oysters were melt-in-your-mouth good. I also have an allergy to pineapple and they made me a hurricane with no pineapple – it was excellent.

We have been here several times before and the place was great. We went for mothers day this time and it was a little chaotic. The bar was moved outside and the inside dining room was basically a noisy back room. They ran out of beignets and service was slow. Food was good and people were friendly. The manager gave us a discount because they were very slow.

The servers were great, the ambiance very Nawlins. I found the food items hit or miss....some were outstanding, others I didn't care for but I've visited NOLA more than any other city and I love the food there so maybe I'm a little picky. Drink specials were good. I'd recommend for brunch or happy hour.

I look for new and different Brunch options every week. Cajun Experience really hit the mark! I have not had crawfish etouffee this good for years. The brunch menu is small compared to most but it really hits the mark for variety and flavor. And, yes it is like a little bit of New Orleans Cajun in VA.

The service at this restaurant was great, everyone from the person that greeted us to the server was very friendly. Our server did a great job taking time to explain the menu, the specials etc and consistently checked in to make sure everything was ok. The food is pretty good and had a good Cajun spice to it. I would highly recommend the fried Boudin balls. The gumbo was good as well, made with a very dark roux. Overall a good experience and we will definitely be back!

On a recent Friday evening my husband and very selective younger daughter went for dinner. We had an wonderful evening. The food (as always) was wonderful, with very friendly service. The music was great -- good mix of covers of Elvis to U2 that set a great scene for a great kickoff to the weekend. Even the picky one was happy. We'll be back.

It was a perfect evening to sit outside but it was a bad decision as the live music was so loud that you could only have conversation without yelling with the person sitting next to you. The atmosphere inside isn't so great so we decided to remain outdoors despite the volume. The server was friendly and knowledgeable about the food and could give advice about the different dishes (spicy, not so spicy, etc.). I am not too familiar with Cajun cuisine but thought my dish was just so-so. For our party of six our dishes came out at different times. First dish arrived, then maybe 5 minutes later another couple of dishes, and so on; they really need to work on their timing. I don't plan to return unless for drinks.

There's way too much rice on the plate, and not enough of the entree. The étouffée plate was 80% rice and maybe 20% étouffée. Same for the jambalaya. They tasted great, but easy on the rice. Given the rice to entree ratio, not sure if we'll dine there again, don't see value.
