Caffe Buon Gusto - Montague
This was my first visit since this restaurant re-located. It was wonderful. The food was better than ever. I look forward to dining in the garden when the warm weather returns.
Truly a neighborhood gem—now at their new location.
Atmosphere was good for a date with my wife. We love the music playing. But sever was not very friendly, though not at all rude — just disinterested. I had jumbo shrimp that were over cooked and not hot when they arrived like they’d been sitting under the heat lamp in the kitchen for ages before being brought to the table. Coffees took a comically long time to make.
Love everything about Buon Gusto
Great food at very reasonable prices. Had a great experience.
White table cloths, a brick wall, outside dining... what's not to love? Ask for the mushroom risotto although it's not on the menu. Amazing! And don't forget the crabcake. My guests also liked the lasagna and are eager to go back and savor it again.
Never disappointing. Usually order the pre fixe. Tuesday, I ordered the chicken franchise with the mussels appetizer. Portions are good size, taste is a pleasure to the palate. It is our go to place in the neighborhood.
I would be remiss if I did not mention the drinks. I love my pomegranate martini.
Lovely find. Great food, good prices. A cleanliness rating by city. Staff were lovely
Service was excellent and food was delicious!
First of all it is important to point out that the food was incredible! The restaurant was very nice and everything was fresh and delicious. If I'm reviewing that part of the experience, it was a 10. Unfortunately, then the service got involved. The manager on duty was incredibly rude and tried to scam us multiple times. She then came over to our table, after I agreed to pay for the scam they pulled on us, and continue to yell at us and tell us we were wrong. Mind you we were being very polite and this was in an empty restaurant. There was one other table occupied, that's it, and instead of providing good/normal customer service, we were treated terribly after being scammed and agreeing to pay for it anyway. The owner should do a big time review of the types of people they hire. I would have been a very large and longtime customer, but now will never go back and go out of my way to write reviews like this which I never do in order to alert them and other customers.
Went here to try their special Black Linguini only to be told after ordering drinks that they do not have any in stock. When asked if they would have some tomorrow or later this week, the waiter replied we don't know. They also didn't have another dish that we wanted either - can't remember because at this point we were annoyed. Why advertise a special dish and not have it? The Lobster Carbonara was salty and the Ravioli tasted like watered down cream. Also, the Pinot Noir was watery and cheap. Seems like this restaurant cuts a lot of corners.
It was a nice quaint italian restaurant and a great experience! The bread basket is the best ever and the prices are so affordable! Definitely a great place to go if youre in downtown brooklyn!
Great experience. Food was amazing. Server was very attentive. My girl friends and I hadn’t seen each other in a while so we were chatting a lot and didn’t realize that it was closing time. We never felt rushed and even though the staff all wanted to go home they were all very gracious. Would definitely go back.
The new location is lovely — bigger & the back patio will be wonderful in good weather. Today was perfect. The food never disappoints and is well-priced for what you get.
My family and I traveled over an hour from New Jersey to try your restaurant to find that it was closed because you are moving. Nothing on Opentable or your website or even Google maps stated that you were closed. You should keep all digital platforms updated during times like these because people nowadays (at least young people) are highly unlikely to actually call the restaurant to make a reservation or check hours, it's all done online. There's no point in offering reservations on Opentable if it's an automated listing that doesn't get updated and shows available tables when the restaurant is closed. We were pretty bummed out because we really wanted to try, the pasta pics influencers have posted on Instagram look great but this experience sucked and left a bad taste in my mouth (figuratively and literally - we ended up eating gross bar food nextdoor because we were starving and too hungry to research another place)
It wasn't reflected that the cafe opens at 12 pm, not 11 am when I made reservations. The restaurant didn't call to confirm, though I should've called myself. My friend from out of town and I were unable to wait AN HOUR to eat. We ended up going to Teresa's on Montague St. They were fortunately open and had a beautiful brunch menu and lovely outdoor seating. We highly recommend Teresa's.
Good, Great Experience my friends enjoy
An actual neighborhood gem. Solid fare. Fresh ingredients. Excellent and accommodating service. We’ll see you at your new location.
Good place for lunch. Good food and quiet atmosphere on weekdays.
Food was great, service excellent. We had a lovely time.
Food and service always great!
Welcoming owner and staff. Would recommend
Service was poor, as there was confusion as to who was supposed to be doing what. Plus the waiter pour water in my cocktail because nobody thought to serve water in different glasses.
Excellent food quality and price for $30 price fix dinner.
Service was good initially but was slow after more patrons arrived at restaurant after 8 pm.
Suggest another one or two servers during peak dining times , especially on Friday nights.
A colleague of mine suggest this restaurant. He loved the pumpkin ravioli. I decided to give it a try and I was NOT disappointed. The Holland Cage Salad, Crab Ravioli & Ricotta Cheese Cake was absolutely delicious. I loved the cozy intimate setting and the hostess, & wait staff were very sweet and attentive. This is definitely my new favorite Italian restaurant. The prices are so budget friendly. Great Food that is affordable for a single person or a family.
A neighborhood restaurant that's higher-quality than many more famous places I've been. Most recently our party had lots of seafood (shrimp-pancetta appetizer, lusciously prepared branzino, equally luscious salmon, and a sublime shellfish linguini in a light, perfectly garlicky white sauce), but we've also had more standard tomato-ey fare like their yummy eggplant Parmagiana and assorted pastas and scallopini, as well as their terrific crab ravioli and other twist-on-tradition dishes. And don't miss their tiramisu. The service is wonderful; everyone is just lovely. Highly recommended -- there's a reason it's been around for years!
My friend and I came here for an early dinner. We both had the filet of sole and for dessert tiramisu. It was price fixe dinner . Very reasonable and delicious. Great service. We liked the restaurant very much.
The gnocchi ala vodka was so delicious that we ordered a second to take home with us. Chocolate soufflé and chocolate almond cake were delicious! Would definitely return!
Great dinner - very nice place. Fish and pasta were great
This is truly a special place! The food was amazing and I cannot say enough about the service. We sat at a table just off the bar area where the windows were fully opened. The beautifully lit tree outside the restaurant added to the ambience. We will be back.
This place is a gem. Neighborhood dining at us best! The food was really tasty and it is a great value.
We've been to their Upper East Side venue. Same great food & extensive menu. It's a much larger restaurant so it doesn't have the same cozy romantic feel. On the plus side the tables aren't crowded together & there is a much larger outside eating area. Atmosphere is rather bland & can use some sprucing up. Service was good enough , although somewhat indifferent & not particularly welcoming . Maybe we just caught them on a bad night.
The service was very good... except for the host
Very few tables were occupied. I liked the ambiance and music, but unfortunately the food was below mediocre.
Please note the restaurant does not have AC but did have several fans.
My family ranked this meal as one of the best of our vacation.
They were accommodating. The food wasn't amazing
The service was awful. Took my son and girlfriend to dinner. Everything they brought out was wrong. I mean everything! Food was good when they got it right but everyone ate at different times. Really you don't know lava cake from chocolate cake! Big language curve here. Won't go back.
It was a pleasant meal, a chance to catch up with old friends. We will certainly return.
Excellent food and service. Varied menu. Short walk from Dumbo
