French Onion Soup
Great food, great service; great wine.
Several trucks and construction vehicles were located near our table in the outside space which was a little intimidating. There were only a few tables occupied but our server was hard to track down to place our order and pay our check. But I’ll always come back to Cafe Normandie. Our favorite spot in Annapolis.
This is one of our favorite Annapolis restaurants. The food is always well done, following a menu that the restaurant does well. Excellent wine list at reasonable prices. And the service is friendly and professional. Very timely delivery of wine, appetizer and entrees. We've enjoyed Cafe Normandie for 15 years and will continue to visit frequently.
Food was delicious and everyone was very friendly.
Wonderful food.. lovely wait staff.
I would normally give Cafe Normandiea good review because I've eaten here many times. However, on this particular day, the server brought us cold calamari, when I told him that it was cold he placed his entire hand on of it, literally touching to see if it was cold. He took it back in the kitchen and pop it in the microwave and brought it back to us saying he reheated it. I had to remind him that he touched it and he said oh I forgot. Then the chef comes to the table to see why we had a problem with the calamari, when I explained it was cold he told me it was hot.. I said after the server reheated it, he then said why didn't you want it then, I said because the server touched it to see if it was cold.... the chef apologize and gave us a new dish. That was not good..
went for restaurant week; phenomenal as always even when ordering from the prix fixe menu.
Excellent food. Anna was great and attentive.
It was our first and we’ll be re-visiting more often....
Superb deal for Annapolis restaurant week, I'll definitely be back. Everything was good but the baked brie with honey and almonds was extraordinary.
We had a lovely time getting together with friends during Annapolis restaurant week. Great value, great meals and a wonderful experience.
Fantastic flavors and portions. Highly recommended. Consistent quality over more than 20-yrs I've enjoyed it
Utterly charming interior, decorated as if one was in a rustic french inn (though I think they could cull some of the fake flowers). Service was very pleasant, but slow. It was restaurant week and they could have used one more server.
The french onion soup was marvelous. I'd go back just for that alone. Rich broth, a wealth of onions, the floating bread cut to the correct size and thickness, the gruyere melted down the sides of the ramekin. Lovely, just lovely.
My entree was the duck with berry coulis, roasted potatoes and some carrots and haricot vert. The duck was 2 legs and part of a breast. It was nicely cooked, but not a standout. Same for the veggies, which still had a bit of bite (which I like). The roasted potatoes were wonderful.
Dessert was creme caramel, which is very similar to a flan. Nice, but not terribly memorable.
Would I go back for the atmosphere, the soup and to try some other items? Yes, I would.
Good social distancing, one waiter was wearing his mask around his neck. Excellent value during restaurant week. Food, as always was outstanding. Our waiter was new and not trained. (All businesses are having trouble getting employees. It pays more to stay home.) I had to ask 4 times for cream while my coffee got cold. He brought the coffee in a chipped cup. We had a good time and a wonderful meal.,
One of my favorite places! Pate, cheeses, crepes, desserts... wonderful!!
We love Cafe Normandie and have never been unhappy about a meal there, and the Restaurant Week lunch was no exception. We feel like many restaurants try to "phone it in" for Restaurant Week, but Normandie's service and portions were outstanding. This is one of our go-to dinner spots already, but now we have become lunch menu converts as well. Support this unique local spot!
Food was very delicious, presentation fabulous! Highly recommend!
Food was very good we sat outside so as far as noise level it's on a street/sidewalk Great service - had escargots and salmon with blueberries and it was delicious
Always excellent food and service. Been going to the cafe for years; it never fails to please.
Love the atmosphere of this restaurant. The food was amazing. The service was good, but not great. Will definitely visit again.
Excellent as always. Safe for my daughter with celiac!
French Onion soup and Brie with honey and almonds are the family favorite starters. Highly recommend.
I loved the quality of service and the food. Half-price bottles of wine on Wednesdays was a really nice gift. We had a lovely bottle of Bordeaux. The escargots were impeccable
The best home fries there are! Also the best omelet I’ve ever had. Absolutely outstanding, will come here every time we’re in Annapolis
This place is amazing. Staff delightful. We ordered escargot app and Scallops & Duck entrees- everything cooked to perfection. If this isn't on your favorite list, it's because you haven't tried it!
We always enjoy dining at Cafe Normandy. The food is great & the service is good.
Food was great. Service was outstanding. We had an enjoyable experience at the restaurant. We are definitely going back soon and taking friends and family.
The food was phenomenal and the service was fantastic. Will be back!
The server whose name I can’t remember was forgetful had to ask about a drink twice. And gave us a container and then told us that it was on the floor? So why did she give it to us? It was strange. The risotto was ok the scallops were a little salty. My husbands ribeye was great though
Great selection of dishes, wine, and the ambiance! Unbeatable! Go for Wine Wednesdays!
Cafe Nornamdie is like coming home. It’s warm, cozy and relaxing. The food is terrific and the service makes you feel right at home.
We go to Cafe Normandie for the delicious and succulent escargot, but always find another wonderful dish and that night it was the Roasted Corn Risotto with Scallops. The risotto was perfectly prepared and the scallops were plump and beautiful.
(We loved our waiter too.)
We feel so lucky to be able to drive downtown and have such a fantastic meal.
Very lucky and appreciative!
We lucked out and got a last minute reservation d/t the bad weather and cancellations. We were staying right around the corner so we’re able to walk. The ambiance was great, the service impeccable but the real star was the food. Both my husband and I agreed this was the best meal we have had outside of Paris and in our top 5 dinners ever. My husband had the Osso Bucco and I had the Veal Francais. We savored each bite as the food was so good. Would recommend without hesitation!
Excellent Service and food!
We love the atmosphere as well too. It was very romantic! We will definitely be back
Another delicious brunch. Everything perfectly cooked.
Always a treat to dine at Cafe Normandie! They did a great job of separating us from other diners and the food was delicious!
Great atmosphere and brunch. Worth the stop
I always love going to Cafe Normandie. The service is always excellent and I like the cozy ambiance. Their French onion soup and chateau Briande are excellent!
Service excellent and delicious food! Highly recommend!!
Literally the best restaurant experience I've had in awhile. From the food to the ambiance, it was tres magnificent!
